So thrilled with my new courtyard makeover! Please let me know if you have any questions when it comes to specifying the right artificial turf for your project!
Julie, what is the name of the Mnf. of the turf you decided to install. Can I personally buy it on-line and install myself? Only looking to do an area like say 6ft. X 8Ft. Just large enough to sit low in a chair and not worry about biting insects, or do you have another suggestion for what I'm trying to achieve. Please let me know. Thank you - Steven
SYNLawn is the best artificial grass look wise and also is plant based. I know that they are located in most US cities. They also offer a limited lifetime warranty and I was able to do low monthly payments. I love not having to have it mowed and it doesn't turn yellow from my dog Tucker..:-) I live in Arizona and my water savings is huge. Great video thank you! They work with Envirofil as well..:-) my turf doesn't smell cause I choose that option..:-)
Yes, it gets hot. It can shed. Cats sharpen their claws on it. Sand underneath it can leak out if not properly compacted. It can flatten. Their can be noticeable seams depending on the quality of installation. I'm learning all this stuff and our new grass was put in just a few weeks ago. Julie is so right. Doing a bit of research will help you make the better decision that's right for you.
Wow, Julie, your courtyard looks gorgeous now. My daughter’s partner is a high end builder here on Maui. He installed artificial turf on his own terraced pool area and it looks fantastic. The kids love to do their gymnastic moves on it too. Another pro is no noisy mower using gasoline.
Your courtyard looks great. I can see how artificial turf makes your outdoor space more enjoyable for you and it might make sense in small spaces, but I honestly hope artificial lawns NEVER catch on as a substitute for natural lawns because of the environmental impact. Can you imagine if it became the next big trend? :( Thank you for researching and summarizing this as you did. I always learn something from you.
Thank you for watching Michelle! I definitely agree that it’s not for everyone and every condition (clearly I’m a nature lover with all the plant vids), but it works for what we need at the moment ☺️
My biggest gripe is that artificial turf will eventually break down slowly into microplastics. This can leach into the ground water and can possibly be inhaled through its use. There's better alternatives in using drought tolerant grasses or plants.
Thank you for the video Julie, I think it’s really brave when you know you might open yourself up for negativity for endorsing artificial turf. I love plants, I care about the environment, but I also understand that for some places artificial is best, especially for city dwellers. I have a huge back window in my apartment that opens up to the back of another building. It’s dark and dingy, takes up space and doesn’t look good. I had it covered as an artificial plant wall and I’m really happy with the results. It really sets the tone and mood of my apartment, and I’m happy just looking at it. ❤️❤️❤️
Mental health is also important when it comes to interior design and decoration, so that’s definitely an aspect of design that I value and will share my honest experience with. Thank you for watching and sharing 🙏🏻☺️
How generous you are, dear Julie, to share your knowledge and experience about artificial grass with us. Your garden looks gorgeous with the new grass! I have about 4k ft2 natural grass that needs a lot of care and water. I'll consider artificial grass for a future upgrade
I love real grass, I wish I could have it thrive everywhere around my home, but artificial turf just made sense for us in the courtyard Myriam. Hope you find something that works 👍🏻☺️
This is not the first video of yours that I've "liked", and I'm choosey. I just want to say, you've got talent girl. I've been studying design for many years (a favorite hobby), and I must say that I'm impressed with your thorough presentation for the layman/novice is just the right balance. From my broadcasting course, I can see real talent in your video production as well. And those little personal notes are just the right touch. I'm not remodeling. I'm planning a new build, my first/last ever/forever home. I'm on a tight budget, so trying to avoid costly mistakes. Not 20 yrs old anymore, so can't be planning to "remodel". Besides the time/budget constraints, I have a too narrow lot for my tastes. While I'm grateful to have ANY housing at all, I prefer not to squish my home alongside my neighbors and hear the tiny details of their lives or smell their dinner. Due to the local climate I also need to maximize airflow and minimize direct sunlight. But since I HATE to feel claustrophobic (disabled and house bound too much), I NEED a good view from every vantage point. Many people think I'm just being greedy and ought to rescale my list of "needs", but they aren't living isolated and disabled, trying to work from home, etc. Thinking of budget minded home/garden maintenance for the elderly/disabled, I've been considering artificial turf. I found your video extremely useful. Thank you for your quality educational videos. BTW, I've noticed a Feng shui video next in line. I think Feng shui Is useful, but it's so complicated and overwhelming to me. I would love to see you do your magic to really dig into it, like this kitchen video, and demystify it for us. I have a narrow 10×20 meter space to build home, work, storage, BBQ/patio, and garden going street to street in Yucatan peninsula (hot, humid, rainy/dry). Main street entrance is on south narrow end, exiting to a deadend to the park street on the northern side. Neighbor on the east, long side has built his wall directly on the property line and his footing is stealing space from my lot. This gives me the legal option of building on his wall, but I'd rather not be hearing them. To save every tiny inch I'm looking for thin materials, and sound/moisture proofing (mold/mildew is a big issue here). But with ALL these challenges, the Feng shui aspect is a bit overwhelming. Critical issue to minimize direct sunlight while maximizing views, minimizing bugs while maximizing airflow, minimize mold/mildew/humidity while circulating fresh air (I have no AC, trying to keep the energy footprint down and go old school with a sort of chimney or clearstory vent, etc. I love the cheat sheet you gave us for kitchen design! Would you make one for Feng shui in the home as well? Whatever you do, I wish you the best, and give thanks for your quality work here.
Thank you for watching and leaving such thoughtful, constructive comments TL! Check out my Feng Shui playlist for more videos! The one on living rooms has another cheat sheet you can screenshot for compass directions and coordinating elements 👍🏻☺️
I had no idea until the vendor alerted me of this issue upon surveying my space Jackie. Luckily the windows are far away enough with foliage in between that he didn’t deem it an issue. 😅
I feel the same way! Should have budgeted for it long before we pulled the trigger. But ALL GOOD! Our family enjoys our outdoor space so much more now 🙌🏻 thank you for watching Rick!
Thank Julie. The video have al the information i need. Very details. Sometime, i think about getting turf in my backyard. There is too much research and decisions to make for this turf. You summarize everything nicely in your video
WOW, I've watched tons of videos on synthetic grass install. and THIS VIDEO , Not only covered everything you need to know. But MORE.. things I hadn't thought about !!! best video on Sythetic Grass EVER !! ( BTW .. I love your hair color !! ) .
Our backyard is entirely concrete. There is no grass or even dirt. We're looking for a way to make it more inviting and this seems like the natural solution. Of course there's more complications when you're laying it over concrete, but nothing that can't be overcome. Thanks for the inspiration!
Girl why do you keep knowing my house plans?!?!?! All year your content has followed my house journey and I am not putting turf in my backyard. Love your channel as always!
Julie, I always appreciate your professionalism as well as skill level when diving into a project. There is more than meets the eye when choosing artificial turf. Thank you ☺
Thanks for putting this informative video together! Loved how you explained the different types of sod, durability and cost. I'm looking at doing artificial turf this summer ☀️ and I'll definitely reference your info.
Awesome 👏 we all have different conditions so make sure you bring issues up with your vendor. There were so many things they touched on that I didn’t even consider like the window glare 😳
OMG Julie thank you so much for your video! I'm planning to install some to the side of my house so my pug has a place to go. Your video really helped. But most of all.... Oh my God! Your courtyard looks BEAUTIFUL!!! It brought a smile to my face to see the kids playing! Congratulations! I love the look too. It looks like real grass!❤
I know people can really have a problem with artificial turf, but you really just created a natural-looking play area for your kids! It looks better than the rubber under most playgrounds and is softer if your kids trip and fall. Softer, safer, low-maintenance, and actually used... what's not to love?
Artificial turf has come a long way. It looks so real these days. I have seen it in stores and home shows. When I had little ones I thought of using it for the swing set. I think they can put a mushy surface under it for safety with a swing set. But I never did that. I did think of it years ago. Good idea for drought areas if you want a green look. Then fill in the other parts with plants shrubs as you did. Nice to see you kept the tree. So many people tear out big trees. Not a fan of that. Good topic! Stay safe!
I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in Summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Thanks for the in depth explanation of the entire process. Cheaper isn't always better is what I also gathered from your video. Your projects came out fantastic !
I've been thinking a lot whether I want real vs fake grass. This video gave me more information to think about to make my decision. thanks for the video!
I bought a house with expensive artificial turf and ended up ripping most of it out. The plastic grass made the yard too hot to enjoy. The plastic can melt and smolder if embers from a wildfire land on it. Even if it's recyclable it still contributes to microplastics during the time it is in your yard. A gopher from a neighbor got under the fake grass and created holes we couldn't see until we walked over dips. Real plants can cool the area around them and now that i have a real grass yard my space is so much cooler. Fake grass is low maintenance though but that was the only real pro in my experience. If you look up most drought friendly city programs they don't recommend fake grass because it has so many environmental downsides despite the water savings.
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience Heidi! Artificial turf is not for everyone/ every home. We get a lot of shade in this courtyard, I hated the patchy grass issues we previously encountered, this was and still is one of the best investments we made to enjoy more of our home ☺️
Thank you for sharing your experience with turf for your courtyard. I'd like a courtyard in my house one day so it's nice to hear how different materials work. As well as your experience vetting contractors. Great and informative video!
Hi Julie, you are doing a great job:) I was going to research for a vendor who would have a best price, material, crew, etc. Finally, after three quotes, I came up with Elite. My front yard now has a lovely look. I am very happy with it, also I mentioned to them that I got your referral. Thank you 🥰
I live in area with quite a bit of rainfall so prefer a more natural lawn with a variety of grasses and especially clover which stays green better, with sections growing wildflowers. We’re seeing more butterflies and birds now which is lovely. Monoculture lawns are high effort and just not worth it in my opinions. With artificial grass it doesn’t allow for insects which in general will keep most wildlife out of your garden, and microplastic will seep into the water and soil degrading the quality of both making it harder to put healthy plants in the garden later on. Considering the climate change I’d also be worried about the heat melting the grass and also flooding since the artificial grass doesn’t have a root system and so the soil can hold onto less water and is also more likely to move with heavy rainfall. If I were living in a drier area I’d probably opt for grasses that need less water rather than the rye grass most commonly used in lawns, maybe fescue or pennisitum. On the positive side, These artificial grasses look a lot nicer than they used to, and at least they don’t use up any water or pesticides :)
I have my new backyard turf covered with old sheets & blankets since I now live in the Phoenix area. I need to find some window covers so my grass doesn't burn. As soon as the temps are guaranteed to be under 100 degrees, I should be able to remove the sheets.
@@JulieKhuu Oh, thanks. I didn't know that. I probably wouldn't bother to get HOA approval for that. (This isn't Irvine, CA). Irvine has the gestapo! I will look in to that. Thank you!
Thanks, Julie! I never stop learning from you!! :) Not sure it would be an option for our family, the pet odors really put me off. However, it's nice to see there are so many options to choose from. Your yard looks perfect! Enjoy it! Hugs from Prague 🥰
I had 550 s.f & paid $4,675.00 for my artifical turf. It is long, plush & has brown in it. Real grass doesn't do well in 120 degree heat! Along with 2 trees, 12 plants, rocks, & large paver section, my total was $15,589.00. My pergola is awaiting HOA approval & will be about $4,000. I am going to buy an inflatable hot tub, & I have already bought 2 outdoor loveseats. It is a brand new build in SE Phoenix Metro.
You don’t know me and I don’t know you but thank you very much for putting this video out. I’ve been wanting to redo my front lawn with turf but didn’t really know where to start. Your video was informational and I appreciate that a lot. I’m from Seattle so I can’t get you that referral credit lol but thank you again!!!
Hi Julie, your project looks beautiful. have you discussed with your provider about pest controlling such as ants? In the past, I noticed that slugs could live and reproduce under the synthetic grass. Not a problem in California but certainly in wetter places like the UK. Thank.
Excellent presentation. You have skills. I skimmed for information on how you might manage the leaves from your tree. Can you rake? Does it trap leaves? Do they blow off easily?
I use a plastic rake meant for artificial turf. The pile is short, so it doesn’t trap leaves at all and yes, it’s easy to blow as my gardener can attest to. You can’t leave the leaf blower directly on the turf though, the hot motor will melt the top
It is very beautiful however it really sounds like it has more cons than pros. There are so many other grass free options that are better for the toes, air and planet. But if it makes you happy that is all that matters :)
I am sure the planet appreciates the huge amount of (probably drinking) water saved during those maybe 20 ys which is the lifespan of that artificial grass! ☺️👍
Hey Julie, thank you so much for this information, sooo helpful! We have tried real grass in a small area of our yard and it just didn't take, we have too much bedrock underneath. Anyway, I've been talking to my husband about artificial grass for our sons playset BUT NOW have a better idea of what to go with, thanks to you!
Thank you for your video. It is very informative. Enjoyed the pros and cons. Like yourself I have a large tree in the middle of my 600 square feet front yard. any suggestions on how I would be able to water my tree after installing artificial grass?
Thank you for sharing ur experience. We have been following you for a while now, really insightful video and information. I do have a few questions. In the video you mentioned no Automatic sprinkler system but you also said you rerouted the sprinklers and keep them. So is it a special type of sprinkler you are using to maintain turf? Also, do you need to have a spot drain for rain water? Or the water can be absorb to the soil underneath the turf when it’s a heavy rain day? Do you need a drain line underneath the turf? Lastly, any aunt issues on turf? And do wheats poke through them? Thank uou
Thank you for watching Elva! 1. My front yard still operates with the automatic sprinkler. I had the courtyard sprinkler heads (where the turf is laid out) re-routed to my planter bed with a soft drip spray. The company I used provides this service. There can be NO sprinklers used on the turf. 2. I had them install a French drain underneath a portion of the turf to catch heavy rainwater where it used to typically flood. The rest drains normally through the turf. 3. I specified an anti-weed barrier turf. So far, so good. It’s been almost 9 months, no weeds in sight. Hope that helps!
Hello. We just found your video. We are seriously considering getting turf for our side and backyard. After two years, is your family still enjoying it? Any regrets or would you have done anything differently? Thank you for your time.
Hi, Julie. I love your backyard .I have sliding double pane tinted glass doors installed by pella.I was looking at artificial turf to install in my backyard.will this melt the grass?
Your vendor can measure the distance from window to turf and better guide you Zolita. I have plants in front of my window, so they weren’t concerned at all
I live in the San Diego area and I'm looking at purchasing the Desert Rye 1.5" or the Premier 82 1.75" turf. I have a little over 1305 square feet of area. What are your thoughts? I also like the mixture of greens and brown in the grass to make it more realistic looking. Great video, great kids and great yard :)
Omg ty soooo much! Have been looking for a local so cal contractor. I'm turning mine into a toddler area so we can soon too host play dates. Question: can the kids ride bikes or pull wagons over the playground turf?
Yup! Precisely why we got it- play area for my babe Elizabeth 👍🏻 Choose a playground/ multi-purpose turf. Nothing too high- the blades will catch on the wheels
HI Julie. Very informatiive. I'm in the beginning stages of researching artfificial grass - it's a tough choice because we re-landscaped our front and back yards four years ago and had new sod put in. It looks great, but of course requires a lot of water and we're in the midst of a drought and a terrible heat wave (I'm in Northern California about 35 east of San Francisco and it's 103 degrees today and another three or four days of triple digit temps are forecast). The lawn is getting fried and and we're trying to conserve water so I think artificial might be the way to go. Hate to give up real grass, but it's no longer practical, not to mention the environmential impact. And if you have any recommendations of vendors in the Bay Area, specifically the East Bay, that would be great. Thanks again!
Great video to understand the basics of artificial turf. We are considering artificial turf for our backyard because that area stays "mushy" from excess water a good part of the year. We installed underground drainage and a dry creek on the surface but the turf is still very muddy/squishy underfoot and with a pet dog, mud control is a constant issue. I wonder if your contractor had any comments about how to stabilize the soil underneath the artificial turf or if my situation would make artificial turf a good or bad idea.
Sounds like you have quite the challenge Steve! Maybe multiple French drains, but again I’m not the expert. Doesn’t hurt to ask the pro and get an estimate 👍🏻
sport field is installed in my school field ,is it normal for the sand to jump when u run and when u play basketball and to have sand enter the socks and shoes?
Hi there. I spent $10k installing turf but am having regrets because of all the info coming back around the chemicals in plastic and especially waterproof materials with “forever chemicals” that are being directly linked to cancer etc. What are your thoughts?
I don’t believe these materials will degrade over the time that I’m living here… next 15-20 years? I’ve seen them installed all over my clients’ neighborhoods and commercial spaces that I visit without any issues. The turf I selected is completely recyclable in case future homeowners wish to remove it
I’ve been thinking about leaving the sprinklers in place when putting artificial turf in just in case drought gets worse and then gets better. Is this possible?
We were considering turf for under a playground. We were wondering if it’s worth it to place a foam shock pad under the turf as well or is it not even needed?Any thoughts?
So thrilled with my new courtyard makeover! Please let me know if you have any questions when it comes to specifying the right artificial turf for your project!

I've been thinking a lot whether I want real vs fake grass. This video gave me more information to think about to make my decision. thanks for the video!
I was mulling it over for years, so glad I made the investment to add more usable real estate to our home👍🏻☺️
Thank you for watching Romoagrace! 🙏🏻☺️
Hello, I am an Amazon seller, sorry to bother you. Do you need free turf, we are doing a review recently.
This was great and very educational. And thank you for doing so much research!
Hi Julie, you are doing a great job:) I was going to research for a vendor who would have a best price, material, crew, etc. Finally, after three quotes, I came up with Elite. My front yard now has a lovely look. I am very happy with it, also I mentioned to them that I got your referral. Thank you 🥰
That’s awesome Cam! I’m glad you found something you love 👍🏻☺️
Thank you. This UA-cam is informative. Your courtyard is beautiful. Be safe.
Thank you so much Matt! 🙏☺️
I m gonna use them too. Nowadays too much money…Love it
Definitely an investment worth making
I'm Elite's owner's son! Great job daddy!
Awesome, thank you for watching 👍🏻☺️
My front yard still needs work as I’m keeping the natural grass Tamar, I’ll try the fescue! Thank you for watching and sharing 🙏🏻☺️
Nice one!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Another informative video. Thank you for sharing.❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for watching Zyndy 🙏🏻☺️
Thank you so much for your insight. You were super thorough. I think I'm going to go ahead and bit the bullet to get mine installed.
We love ours and so glad we made the investment Raekissa! 👍🏻
Excellent info and video, you should have a tv show!
And your lawn looks great!😊
Thank you for watching G! This IS the show 🙌🏻😉
This is a great informative video! Love that you're helping people like this. Hopefully we can work together in the future.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for such a thorough explanation of the process and what you look out for.
I hope you find the right turf for the job Donovan 🙌🏻
Fantastic. I am definitely having faux grass in my next home! 🌻
Thank you for watching Harmony 🙏🏻☺️
Julie your kids are so cute. I also referred your channel to someone who wants to know about Fengshui in house decorating.
Thank you for watching and sharing Joy! I appreciate the support 🙏🏻☺️
thank you so much for pointing out no leaf blower!!!!! this is huge!!!!
They can blow the leaves from the turf, but can’t rest the unit directly on it
Great vid, many thanks! I had no idea that astro turf had come so far. I think this is going to be the direction I go with my lawn. Thanks again!
Thank you for watching Walt! I know it’s not for everyone/ every climate, but it really works for our needs 👍🏻☺️
Hello, I'm an Amazon seller, sorry to bother you. Do you need free turf? We're doing a review recently.
Another great video.. I must admit I am learning alot from you for both indoor and outdoor..
Thank you for watching Goodlitt 🙏🏻☺️
I have my new backyard turf covered with old sheets & blankets since I now live in the Phoenix area. I need to find some window covers so my grass doesn't burn. As soon as the temps are guaranteed to be under 100 degrees, I should be able to remove the sheets.
They can tint windows (clear film) so it protects the reflection Jane. The sheets are a nice compromise in the meantime 😀
@@JulieKhuu Oh, thanks. I didn't know that. I probably wouldn't bother to get HOA approval for that. (This isn't Irvine, CA). Irvine has the gestapo! I will look in to that. Thank you!
ua-cam.com/users/shortshng8lT4aB2w?feature=share
Thanks, Julie! I never stop learning from you!! :) Not sure it would be an option for our family, the pet odors really put me off. However, it's nice to see there are so many options to choose from. Your yard looks perfect! Enjoy it! Hugs from Prague 🥰
The hotter the climate, the more offensive those odors become if not sprayed down Monica. So definitely something to think about for sure! ☺️
Wow Jane, it’s going to be the dreamiest space when you’re done with it! 😍
@@JulieKhuu I sure hope so. Making home decorating decisions 1 at a time, nervously, & so far I am happy with my picks!
Share your contractor please. We live in Phoenix too.
Does the ground underneath need to be watered? Should you maintain a sprinkler system?
I have been researching artificial turf...thanks for your pros and cons.
Marci Sorensen
I’m so glad you found this video, I just replied to your other comment to watch it ☺️ Hope it helped make your decision Marci!
Hope it helps you narrow down the endless options Derek! 🙌🏻☺️
Thanks for this. I subbed. I’d love to know what tree you got in the backyard?
Thank you for the support! I believe it’s a melaleuca tree, was here when I bought the house and a huge reason why I’m obsessed with my courtyard 🥰
I am in market, but we're in so nevada. Will call Elite to see if they have a location there. Thank you Julie.
Doesn’t hurt to check Nelly! 👍🏻☺️
Thanks for the detailed info!
Do they make an organic or safe type of artificial turf without the plastic and toxic chemicals ?
Great video. Appreciate you making it.
Thank you for watching 🙏☺️
It is very beautiful however it really sounds like it has more cons than pros. There are so many other grass free options that are better for the toes, air and planet. But if it makes you happy that is all that matters :)
Thank you for watching Gita! My babe loves it, so it’s worth the minor cons to me ☺️
@@JulieKhuu that's what matters the most 😊
I am sure the planet appreciates the huge amount of (probably drinking) water saved during those maybe 20 ys which is the lifespan of that artificial grass! ☺️👍
Fuck the planet
does it increase real estate value?
do neighbors like it ?
Hey Julie, thank you so much for this information, sooo helpful! We have tried real grass in a small area of our yard and it just didn't take, we have too much bedrock underneath. Anyway, I've been talking to my husband about artificial grass for our sons playset BUT NOW have a better idea of what to go with, thanks to you!
Awesome 👏🏻 hope it works out for you Geri!
@@JulieKhuu Thank you, girl!
Thank you for your video. It is very informative. Enjoyed the pros and cons.
Like yourself I have a large tree in the middle of my 600 square feet front yard. any suggestions on how I would be able to water my tree after installing artificial grass?
Leave a minimum 12” radius around the base of your tree for watering (see my tree), that was the suggestion from the turf vendor
@@JulieKhuuThanks
Julie Khuu for your suggestion
Your little girl is adorable!
Thank you so much Stephen 🥰
Outstanding video thank you for taking the time
Thank you for watching Carlos 🙏🏻☺️
Does it look good to have artificial turf on the front yard
Love the video!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for watching Cool! 🙌🏻☺️
Hello. We just found your video. We are seriously considering getting turf for our side and backyard. After two years, is your family still enjoying it? Any regrets or would you have done anything differently? Thank you for your time.
We’re almost 4 years in now and still LOVE it! Only regret is not doing it sooner 💚
Hi, Julie. I love your backyard .I have sliding double pane tinted glass doors installed by pella.I was looking at artificial turf to install in my backyard.will this melt the grass?
Your vendor can measure the distance from window to turf and better guide you Zolita. I have plants in front of my window, so they weren’t concerned at all
They keep the existing drains or remove some or add more? Thank you for the video!
I have no existing drains in my courtyard, but I would imagine that’s a preference that you can determine Mitchell 👍
I am wondering how do u clean the leafs and dirt ? How about interlock paving?
I use a turf rake I found on Amazon for leaves and debris, simple green to “clean” the turf
Great video, very informative. I plan on getting artificial turf installed on my backyard.
You’ll love it!! I’ve never looked back 🙌🏻
Hello, I'm an Amazon seller, sorry to bother you. Do you need free turf? We're doing a review recently.
So, are you still enjoying turf and is easy to rem the leaves from your tree?
So easy! We bought a turf rake on Amazon and my courtyard is still looking fresh!
which one is best suitable for pool deck?
Look for something short pile
Does rain water drain through it? Does it mold? I'm trying to understand how it works. Never needing mow is a huge plus.
Water drains right through. The entire sheet of turf is punctuated with rows and rows of holes.
This was sooo helpful!!! Thank you! Hoping I'll find them in Utah!
Thank you for watching MV! Hope you find the right one for your project 👍🏻☺️
Super helpful, thanks!
Hope you pick the turf that’s right for your conditions 🙌🏻
Beautiful yard
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻☺️
This was so informative. Thank you!!

The shorter the turf, the easier to rake, maintain and pick up pet poop Pepper 😂 If you don’t have kids or pets, the 1.75” will look more lush
@@JulieKhuu Thanks much!
I felt the same Ward. The maintenance was just killer when I didn’t want to water every day. Try Yelp. That’s how I found my vendors
Artificial Grass Discount Depot in Gold River - Best material price for quality turf
Great video. Thanks for posting it. You sure got a bargain on price......here in Colorado it is almost twice that.
Wow, and here I thought it was expensive Jim! 😳
I came to learn about the turf but dang my lady you’re beautiful!
Aw thank you, hope you got some good tips tho! 🌱
Julie, what did you do about the mosquitos?
They’re almost all gone now that the grass is gone! I’m going to do a light perimeter spray since SoCal has been heating up towards end of summer 😬
Very good video the information was helpful
Thank you for watching Robert 🙏☺️
So if it has heavy snow piled on top for long periods of time here in Utah, it equates to having heavy furniture as you mentioned.
Yes, please add your climate- specific insights! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Excellent video!
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻☺️
sport field is installed in my school field ,is it normal for the sand to jump when u run and when u play basketball and to have sand enter the socks and shoes?
They may have added more sand, in time it will sink into the turf and stabilize the ground surface
Looks beautiful! I think I'm going with artificial grass for my home. Previous owners had a mess of a yard.
Thank you! I’m loving the outcome and low maintenance 💚
@@JulieKhuu 😀😀😀
The turf I selected is completely recyclable in case future homeowners wish to remove it
Please make a video on styling + design with pets!! I want a beautiful home but need it to function when they have zoomies!
I have it lined up Ashton 👍🏻☺️
I’ve been thinking about leaving the sprinklers in place when putting artificial turf in just in case drought gets worse and then gets better. Is this possible?
The sprinklers are still in place, they would simply cap them and replace back with the sprinkler heads if you remove the turf Charles
Great video! So informative
Thank you for watching Dee 🙏🏻☺️
We were considering turf for under a playground. We were wondering if it’s worth it to place a foam shock pad under the turf as well or is it not even needed?Any thoughts?
I would ask the rep Abed. They can explain how to properly drain the turf with an additional foam layer underneath
Awesome overview. Thank you!
Thank you for watching Palouse 🙏🏻☺️

Hi julie, what kind of backfill did you use underneath your artificial turf?
They used compacted sand
what brand did you go with?? i know you said the company but there are so many brands
Imperial (stated in the description box)
