I love these dramas with their quirky and a variety of themes And i really enjoy the accent . Every night i switch off lights and listen to one drama before sleeping.
Just listened to this on 18th Jan and my haggis is in the fridge, painting of Robert Burns on the wall and my late father's Burns' book beside me. Really enjoyed this fun drama , thank you
I've never eaten haggis before although me being brittish from london i suppose eating haggis is a scottish tradition at christmas I've seen black pudding in sainsbury store never tried them Am i missing something out here. I do like a bit of the hard stuff occasionaly a stiff scotch whisky now there's a drink if there ever was. wonder where the term scotch on the rocks came from
I think world bad place at the moment but finding these plays has been worth it when you stuck in bed as I am.i got through the classic lit apart from hamlet Koran and bible sad to say I fall asleep to those three but these plays pure joy👏😀👍

Thanks for putting these dramas on for us to enjoy. I would REALLY appreciate it if you could give a short resume (blurb) of each plot as I have no idea if the dramas are what I fancy listening to. Thanks.
A most entertaining story. Very enjoyable. And quite sophisticated for 1970 (when I think it said it was first broadcast). I'm thinking of the (illicit) transfer of money by computer (in addition to the more traditional forms of robbing the bank in question. Someone asked for a synopsis, and this is going to be fairly brief and oblique: someone knows about a very easy way into bank premises and puts this information into the hands of people knowledgeable and ruthless enough to make use of this information. (Ruthless, but not violent - as someone else says, there is no violence in this story, which makes a pleasant change). But the main partners in the robbery have their own secret plans to make sure that they each get the major share of the profits. What could possibly go wrong ... ? I was convinced that the actor playing Pyrus was the same one who plays Maurice, Charles Paris's agent in the Radio 4 Charles Paris series (Jon Glover), but it wasn't. Had exactly the same voice and mannerisms though. Like someone else, I also needed to listen to some bits twice to get some of the detail, and I might listen a third time, but it won't be a hardship! :-) Thank you for uploading this.
Having watched so much British TV and listened to an equal amount of radio there are two things that I, as a Kiwi, hv noticed: when moving from room to room how they close doors and the other thing is how obsequious they are to their bosses. Just saying!
Wonderful play. Old fashioned manners and no violence which I found refreshing. Dense plot development with several characters cheating on others but the police becoming the winners. A neat twist when they are about to arrest the bank manager. Worth a second listen. Brenda
@@iap-ug3oy Just re-tried listening on two different laptops - the high pitched squeek/drone is there on both, although not so prounounced on one, so it could be made worse by the frequency responce of the speakers on my main machine.

Archie was so funny.😂Thank you dear boy for uploading these dramas.💙
Archie was a pain in the butt.
These are so much better than the plays we get on radio these days.
How's that?
@@ikrat9456 Because they are so politically correct they are stifling creativity. Not true to normal life, just a life the powers that be want for us.
@@bobclark6703 Spot on.
Absolutely agree.

Forget the koran.
There's a reason the Christian bible has a second book.
We became more enlightened.

Same of me zzz
same here, 2 minutes in and I'm gone, love them,
It would be beneficial to have a synopsis.
Light hearted heist drama set in Scotland.
Further to below,it would be good to know the original transmission date,if you have it.
Nice! Every time Mr Pyrus says “My dear boy” I wanted to fish slap him! 😂
Nice nice!
There’s a spoiler on here so don’t read comments first I did!
all good, but can you post resumees please
Thank you for your efforts, but the excruciating whistle in the background of the audio drives me insane. I couldn't finish this performance (((
Can anyone explain the ending? I don't get it
i dont get either, i was with it intil the very end..i'l need to listen to the end a few times...let me know if you made any progress with it.
What do you think was transferred to that safety-deposit-box which he was on his way to collect at the branch which hadn't been closed down?
I'm in the same boat as you two who didn't get it 😅😅
lack of synopsis is a deplorable oversight
Start your own channel then.
🎉😂❤
You cant be understood.
Good play, but nasty squeaking background noise means it hurts to listen
Must be a Mouse in the background 🤣🤣🤣
No squeaking from where I am listening …the audio is perfect. .

Sounds good to my ear - no mousy noises or crackles even hisses.
Not impressed, the end was so obvious.
