Chena Hot Springs & Ice Hotel! Exploring Alaska :: Fairbanks, Chena & North Pole

- Our last day in the Fairbanks area took us from one of the coolest (literally) locations in Alaska to the best Chinese food in the state!
We started by visiting Chena Hot Springs, where we give you a tour of the grounds before stepping into the Aurora Ice Museum / Hotel. This is the largest year-round ice environment in the world! While there we checked out the ice hotel rooms you can rent and enjoyed a STRONG appletini at the Ice Bar!
After Chena we were hungry, so we headed to the town of North Pole, Alaska to visit Pagoda for lunch. This is (in our opinion) the best Chinese food in Alaska! Maybe you've seen it on Diners Drive In's & Dives, or maybe you've heard a local Alaskan rave about this place, but it totally lives up to the hype!
After lunch we hit up another brewery before heading to the airport for our flight back home to Anchorage.
What an amazing trip this was!

I love Pagoda! Best Chinese I've ever had. 😍😍😍
This was so cool.
Best place ever. Wow, it has changed so much. They only had the cabins to stay at. Back then you couldn't swim in the outside area. They had hot tubs in and out and an inside pool. I have been there on my own, in church retreats and on school field trips as a teacher. I am so excited to see the ice hotel! WOW. I lived in North Pole but never heard of the Pagoda.
The Ice Hotel looks like an awesome place to stay. Have always wanted to visit an Ice place.. sometime!
Love your vlogs…that ice museum looks awesome…….from your friend in Illinois.
Although I have seen Chena Hots Springs on other vlogs..I think you covered it very well. Really enjoyed it 😊
Love the hot springs in the wintertime. We stayed in the hotel and they called to wake us up when Northern Lights came out. The Ice Hotel wasn’t there yet when I visited. I’ve now added it to my bucket list - not for the night, just the tour and apple martini.
Wow that Ice Hotel looks amazing!! Beautiful with the ice sculptures and amazing lights! I did get a little cold watching that vlog 😎🧊 lol!! Great video guys ,Alaska is an amazing, beautiful state. Thanks for bringing us your awesome adventures in your home state!
Wow. Really pretty place! Cold don’t bother me. I grew up in Chicago!
I thought the ice museum was really cool but small. I loved the ice enclosed flowers.
Did they tell you the story of the guy that didn't listen and touched the naked lady? They apparently have a new one now, lol. Looks like the xylophone is missing a couple more pieces. Think my daughter and I sat where you had your drinks.
The best part of Chena Hot Springs was the Aurora tour. Went on top of a mountain for 4 or 5 hours and saw the lights. 😍❤
You never said what you did " kindness wars" with the Violette's car!!! I was so anxious to hear! Fu. Time there!!
What an interesting place! I want to know how they clean the ice hotel rooms. Lol
Great coverage of Chena....and the museum. Places I would love to see next visit. Just love your vlogs. Learning so much about your great beautiful state! Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings to all 🙏
Sommers in Alaska eat at that Chinese place alot.
I want the polar bear room!
Right?! It was so cool to see how they made each room unique!
The cold doesn’t bother me anyway …🎼 lol …it does , but I will love, love to visit the Chena Springs , the bar is awesome . Definitely on my bucket list . My daughter did that and the aurora borealis a few years back.🙃
Precheck issues: make sure the ticket name is exactly the same name that is on the precheck/global entry account. Check if you have the right number entered on your airline account.
That all looks amazing! My parents have actually mentioned wanting to see the Northern Lights for their 50th wedding anniversary next year.
I'm surprised that you didn't visit the Somers family, Jessica and Bert, and kids or had them join you for lunch.
Another fun video, Fairbanks is really different from so many of your other trips. So glad that you are having so much fun and bringing us along 🥰💕💕
Hiya I've missed so much because UA-cam wasn't notifying me about your vlogs. I've got a lot of catching up to do now x
Welcome back :)
@@LeggLife thank you xx
Loved "I'm not flipping off anyone" LOL Also love your vlogs!
Awesome video and thanks for sharing. The ice hotel looked awesome. Can you tell me how far Chena Hot Springs is from Fairbanks? Would there be taxis or a shuttle to get back and forth???
There are shuttle services available, but I think a taxi would be pretty expensive. It's about an hour and 15 minutes from Fairbanks. I would absolutely look into shuttle services. I bet if you called the resort they would have all of that info.
Was adams wish the Seattle Seahawks winning tonight and the Super Bowl 👀
Nope, I don’t care at all about the preseason, so I don’t mind if they lose every game
Staying in an Ice Hotel might be interesting...but then again...how far is the outhouse? LOL am I showing my age? :-)
You should of hooked up with Jessica's brother and sister-in-law in North Pole, you know Singers in Alaska.
