Not as grandiose of a 100 sub special as I had originally intended, but I felt this was a significant tune to do as my first milestone for this channel. And I think some of my more hardcore Sonic-fan subscribers may really appreciate this one.
Though I am inspired by many different genres of music and many different game series, it's very apparent by looking through this channel that Sonic the Hedgehog is one of my biggest inspirations. But while I love the games to death (well, except for a few bad eggs...), it was actually the Saturday morning animated series that originally got me hooked on the blue hedgehog. If not for this show, I likely would've never gotten a Sega Genesis, never have fallen in love with the game series, and never been inspired by the wonderful music within. And as such, I figured it'd be a good homage to pay by doing this short, but catchy tune for my 100 sub special.
I cannot thank you all enough for taking the time to listen to all my silly little jingles. It truly means the world to me, though. Thank you for your continued support and feedback. And here's to hitting that 200+ milestone!

I can easily picture a SatAM game:
Sonic's fellow Freedom Fighters have all been captured by Robotnik's forces. Each is being kept in a separate zone controlled by the evil doctor's robotic minions. Find and defeat the boss robots guarding each zone, liberate your fellow Freedom Fighters, and take the battle straight to Robotnik's own fortress to end his villainy once and for all!
So basically Forces but better?

Kinda like in the Sailor Moon episodes where they go to Crystal Tokyo.

I just checked out the show last night and it really is as good as they say...and this theme slaps...and now I see and hear why everyone loves Sally so much...
Yeah it was a super cool show to grow up with, and oddly was what got me into Sonic first and foremost. Great storytelling and atmosphere, especially for it's time.

I absolutely love the instrumentation done here, those delicious crunchy string samples :3. That pitch bend at the end of the main melody is absolutely euphoric.

When I do these types of arrangements, it's always my goal to stay as close to the source material as possible, while really trying to make it feel like it could be in a game (or whatever other medium I'm arranging for). And yes, that pitch-bend is a necessity.

Yep! At the ripe old age of 7. Saw it on tv one Saturday morning and was hooked. Had a Sega Genesis by Christmas that year lol.
REALLY love this. Brings back a lot of memories. Fastest Thing Alive is like my weakness. As are retro game style remixes. Double whammy! XD You really captured the essence of both Genesis and what made the song great. 10/10 on this!

Fun Fact: There Was Gonna Be A SATAM Game But Got Cancelled.

The reason why it was cancelled was because Yuji Naka didn’t approve of the game since it was more walking around then actually running segments

Yuji Naka himself ought to know Sonic can't just speed dash past nor simply barrel roll over enemies, since they can come from any direction & furthermore, a lot of generic badniks come armed with throwing projectiles meanwhile the crab-like ones are covered in sharp protective armor which Sonic could easily take hit damage from if he's not more alert of his surroundings, the Buzz Bombers are capable of stinging whilst in flight to halt Sonic mid-jump & many badniks of all varieties are capable of preparing booby traps that require genuine strategical maneuvering - such as spikes coming out of the ground - instead of just losing power rings/life by simply speeding through them. Sure, there would've been running parts too, otherwise it wouldn't be Sonic, however SatAM effortlessly merged Sonic's reckless speed with the other Freedom Fighter member's strategic planning, brawny muscle & tactical skills to flesh out Sonic as a brand.

Even the Genesis era Sonic games in themselves required timing & strategy elements, else they'd either be too simple to beat at best or downright unplayable at worst. Not even the worst games in the brand's history (released after Sonic's 16-bit early 90's prime), complete with shoddy controls & overly gimmicky barely-there plots, were made where you could just speed dash your way through obstacles.

Sega should use this in Sonic Mania
I can easily picture a 3D Sonic X platformer with combat and a trick system that mixes Sonic Rush and Tony Hawk.
Albert Wily has partially roboticized Sonic and Amy and has transported them into an dream island containing 8 (2 act contained)zones arranged in a Super Mario level layout with Psuedo Paradise,Oil Desert,Nightclub Beach,Glacier Forge,Phantasmal Thicket,Dragon's Void,Molten Sanctum and Astral Colony along with a boss at the end of the 2nd act which you must defeat to release the freedom fighter in each zone and chaos emeralds obtainable through S,A or B ranks

+Michael Averton (ElectricSparx) AoStH has a place in my childhood as well, just not as prominent a spot as SatAM. Also, and more importantly, the theme song for AoStH is a mashup of the Sonic 1 & 2 Title screen music and Hall of the Mountain King (the classical music theme). Not as inspiring for me, musically. But maybe I'll do an arrangement of it for the heck of it some day.

Excuse me good sir. I am as big of a sonic fan as the next guy. However, I've really never watched this cartoon... Is it any good? I've had it recommended several times but I'm worried about nostalgia blindness. U may be just as nostalgic as the others but I still want your opinion. Should I watch it?
Also PLEASE troll every one of subscribers when you hit 200 and do a Genesis remix of "Gotta Go Fast" or the sonic X theme. Or just at some point (not necessarily for 200 subs)

Hm. That's a truly hard question to answer. Nostalgia is indeed a big part of it for me, as this particular show helped get me into Sonic as a whole. It was a decent chunk of my childhood for sure.
But, trying to set my childhood giddiness aside.. the show is surprisingly well written and deep for a Saturday morning cartoon. Robotnik is among the most sinister he's ever been, and he's succeeded in taking over an entire kingdom. And instead of cramming the animals inside of robots, he straight up transforms them -flesh into metal, brains into circuitry. It's pretty serious in nature, and the majority of the plot is an uphill battle, many episodes ending with a not so happy ending, as certain members of the freedom fighters (Sonic's team to combat Robotnik) often end up being captured and roboticized. But it still has it's light-hearded moments as well, and Sonic is full of attitude and crappy 90's one-liners. It's definitely worth a watch, at least one or two episodes, but I can't guarantee how much you'll like it for sure. Just something you have to try I suppose.
I haaaaaate Sonic X and it's theme song...so even as a joke, I doubt I'll ever get around to doing that tune... but that being said, I do have something rather trolly planned for a bit later on down the line. Just need the time to make it and the right opportunity to release it upon my unsuspecting viewers... :)

This song is the best remix I've heard of Sonic satam.It actually sounds like how it would sound like if it were on the genesis. At least very close.This song would go perfectly with Sonic CD.
