I LOVE Wyrmspan and Legacy of Yu. As soon as you said: “solo only, from one of my favorite publishers…” I called it. Garphil games is my favorite publisher, and I’ve absolutely enjoyed every play of that game. We own Raising Robots but haven’t played yet! We need to get on that. Anyway, loving your top 100 so far, Jenna. You and I, definitely have similar tastes in games.
I don’t have a top 100 list just yet. But I might be ready to declare Caverna my #1 game. I’ve only played it on BGA and I finally ordered it on sale (prime day)! Can’t wait for my first in-person play 🎉
From my perspective this is by far the strongest part of your Top 100 yet. Well... as it should. But I would play every game from this group without hesitating. I didn't know Mystwind before but that looks really interesting as well. My favorite games or the ones I want to try most are #3 Wyrmspan #2 Potion Explosion #1 Draft & Write Records
I was considering playing Near and Far with my partner but was worried it wouldn't be good for 2 people. Glad to hear you had so many great memories with it! I think once we finish our play through of My City we'll try Near and Far! :)
I finally tried Wyrmspan (friend of mine got a copy), and I really wanted to like it... but I thought it went on too long? I like that each round in Wingspan the turns drop so you have to rely on the engine you're building more and more, and with Wyrmspan letting you get more turns and tokens, especially at 4, it seemed to drag to me. I do love the art and some of the new, interesting mechanics like you touched on in your description, though. I wonder what the player count was when you played it, and if I'd like it more with fewer people.
Yeah I totally agree with that! I do think it can go for quite a long time at 4 players. I would say I like it best solo and up to at most 3 players for sure. 👍🏻 I haven't played it 2 player yet but I think it would be amazing at 2 players.
It's always Penny! She is so funny. It's like she knows I'm about to film and demands she be in the video. 😂 And yeah I totally agree. Such a cool gameplay. Nice! Glad you are enjoying it! I need to finish it soon! Definitely recommend Raising Robots!
We have Draft n' Write Records in our same segment of 10! I'm continuing to enjoy your ongoing series and can't wait to see your lists as we get nearer your all-time favourites. 50. Darwin's Journey 49. Space Park 48. Draft and Write Records 47. Tiny Epic Galaxies 46. Tidal Blades: Heroes of the Reef 45. Wayfinders 44. Alubari: A Nice Cup of Tea 43. Zhanguo: The First Empire 42. Twilight Inscription 41. Railroad Ink
Nice! It's such a great game. Such a highlight of 2024 for me. 😊 Ohhh! Love this set of 10! Some amazing games on there you may see in future lists... 😉
Raising Robots: A great game, great game material, a little too expensive. Draft & Write Records: I first heard about the game in your videos and ordered it straight away. Since it is language-neutral, it doesn't matter at all that it is only available in English. We have already played many fun rounds. However: If one player puts together his band in no time, the others don't have as much fun. Eila & Something Shiny: I think I would like it, but I haven't been able to persuade myself to buy it yet. Mythwind solo or Eila: Which would you prefer? Greetings from Germany, thanks for your videos!!!
Raising Robots wasn't terribly expensive here in Canada. I just purchased the standard version and it was about $60 CAD. I totally agree with the ending the game quickly in Draft & Write Record though. Most of the time if that happens though everyone scores really poorly so we try to let everyone know not to do that to make the game enjoyable. 👍🏻 Both Eila and Mythwind are fantastic and it really depends on the gameplay you are wanting. Eila is definitely more simple focusing more on the story and decisions, while Mythwind has a wonderful story but focuses more on game mechanisms and more of a board game gameplay if that makes sense. Hope this helps! 😊 Thanks for watching!
@@TheBoardGameGarden Thanks. In Europe we have/had only access to the deluxe version of Raising Robots, 90€ plus shipping. But I love it. A great game with cute cards. I backed Mythwind but I sold it straight away without playing it: 9 months of additional delivery time put me off (I usually have enough patience with Kickstarters, but Mythwind used up all of it for me) Unfortunately, Final Girl is not available in German. We'll see, maybe I'll bridge the waiting time with magical world of Eila
Honestly, your cold opens are undefeated.
HAHA! Thank you so much! 😂

Nice! Caverna is great! I need to play it again. It's been far too long. I'm down to play on BGA anytime! 😊 Can't wait for you to play it in person!

I love the puppy intros! Potion Explotion is a game I'll never sell.. So unique. I'm halfway through Eila ...I like it. I want to try Raising Robots!

I love legacy of Yu! However, I can’t figure out if I’m playing it wrong or I’m just really bad at it 😂
Oooooh we're halfway there!
That looks delish.
Woohoo! So excited! 😊👏🏻 They were delicious!
Penny knows best, and is best way to start a video
She sure does. She knows it is all about her. 😂
this was a great list!
Thanks Todd! 😊

I really like your videos. You have a very nice vibe, talking voice, very welcoming.
For some reason you saying, "flippin' write" sounds like it should be a curse word hahaha. Also, who says curse word.... This grandma 👵
AHAHAHA! You're flippin right! Don't you be cursing grandma! 😂👏🏻
