I work with a lot of rappers and DJ's for my job, i give more opportunities to the level headed people who turn up and do their job. There are people with egos i will never book again, i have not told them this they will just go on not knowing the opportunities they squandered Also people at the top are always trying to learn, the ones with egos think they are the greatest
YEAAAAAHAHHAHAHA THEY MADE ONE!!! thank you so much. I genuily wanted to see this as I love black and grey and I wanted to know more about it!!!! I had a shit day at work but this made my day good :))))
Maybe it's time for this channel to make a new segment where they're gonna talk about a certain artist with bad tattoos covering them, showing all the tattoos one by one and asked the tattoo artists for some opinion😀
Not gonna lie, I would totally get a black and grey tattoo by Carlos if I ever get the chance to go to the US (or if he ever comes here to Argentina, whatever happens first!), even though I prefer neo-trad color tattoos. He just comes off as being a really cool down-to-earth guy.
I wonder how much the quality of the gear influences the result. The artists near me don't have those pen like machines, they use the more traditional ones, with the rubber holder and plastic body.
Tattooing for nearly five years just gonna repeat the above. Doesn't matter the machine as long as the it works for the artist. I've seen old school fellas do softer black and grey with the traditional coil machines than I do with my rotary pen. Just depends on you.
I wanted black and grey so much. My first tattoo. Dude decided without me that it was going to have fusia and pink. SO 😤. Come to find out after that he couldn’t see the beauty of black and grey. Paid top dollar for an artist. Wanted original. Too afraid to try again. Hard lesson learned. The piece in the video is beautiful work.
The only real mistake you made was picking the tattoo but not picking the artist. If you want a black and grey tattoo you gotta find a tattoo artist whose portfolio matches your expectations. I got a color one done first and I had to look for artists that prefer color as well as work in the style I was envisioning. My next one is going to be black and grey and that one I picked a completely different artist that I liked his black and grey work he had listed.
I say think of a good concept you want done that you know you'll always be happy with, and look for a decent artist in the area that looks like could do it. I usually look at at about 8 different shops online to narrow it down
He's such a great tattoo artist I love listening to him what a great video. He's so right he says when he said you can look at a black and gray picture 50 years from now or 20 years from now every time you look at it it's so cool and that's what black and gray tattoos are and he's absolutely right. I actually have less black and gray than color cuz I didn't want to just be like the next guy with all black and gray I wanted to be different and have color and black and gray but I do like black and gray more than color
Black and grey is the reason why I got so many. Black grey the reason I go all over my towns shops and get nothing but black and grey. I have color but I like black and grey the most. I love tattoos and I love black grey tattoos. I got tattooed every month for 2 years. I talk to many tattoo artists. I only go to the same shop. I been going to the same shop since 2018. I have over 40. I will won't get more than 50.
Can you ask them to explain and go into detail about the tenets of their style. From what he's saying value scale and contrast are the most imp aspects of b&grey but he didn't explain exactly what that means, can we treat these more like a "what is this" for dummies please??
I love blackwork...it's just so besutuful & It's what I want on my body. My only issue is finding someone who is willing to use my own artwork. So far, I've had nos. I'm an artist myself. Obviously, I would want them to incorporate their style into it (that's why I chose them), but in the end it's my own artwork translated onto a different canvas.
Artists should have no problem using personal art for tattoos. The only objections I could see is if the artwork doesnt aesthetically work with the contours of your body or where you're wanting to get them.
A lot of artists don't want their bad decisions on display or have their names attatched to artwork that they don't personally sign off on. Doing permanent art on people is a very intimate and personal concept for a lot of tattoo artists. That's why many are so picky about what they will or won't tattoo on people. Then again, there are a lot of "jobbers" who will tattoo anything you want for a buck or two.
@@septixskeptix1107 I know...that's prolly why I don't have these tattoos yet...lol! I don't want a dime a dozen. If I'm unwilling to give my clients mediocre art, I certainly am unwilling to let someone turn my art into something mediocre. I am my own ultimate canvas afterall and what gets inked on my skin will be a testament to the combo of the artist's technical skill/style & my ability to create beautiful art. I want the artist to be proud of their work & I want people asking me who inked me so I can sing their praises. The artworks I've created are specifically done to stencil well in the areas they are wanted (I basically did a ducktape mockup). They might require slight adjustments as there's always something that can be tweaked to lie better but beyond that they should be good. I've even drawn two of the pieces so that they could be connected together into a full sleeve, over onto the shoulder connecting with the back piece eventually. That part, I would give placement freedom to the artist as it would be floral and winding. It would probably be best drawn directly on the skin as opposed to creating a stencil first. The two individual tattoos will look finished on their own or connected. Yeah, I've given all this almost too much thought...lol!
