It's legal to own in Cali AND legal to carry only so long as it's OPEN CARRY and not at all concealed. You can carry any fixed blade of any length so long as it's open carry.
@LaxingIsLife I always recommend getting the largest one you believe you will carry and can do so legally. Some people are torn between a regular and large sized knife. They like the larger one because of its heft, but in the end they really wouldn't carry it or pull it out for a chore in public. In that case they should have gotten the smaller. So go with the most knife you believe you will carry and use the most. If still undecided, get both!
@nelson149 not likely. The contour and sharpness of the blade basically ensure that it will pass smoothly into almost any material you're going to be stabbing in a combat situation.
@RoyalAlba1 It's really not meant for pocket carry. I suppose you could fit it in a pocket, it wouldn't be impossible, but it's really meant for belt carry. If pocket carry was going to be your main mode of transport then the Safemaker II would be easier.
Thanks for the vid. I'm thinking about getting one for a buddy before he deploys to Afghanistan. I just wish they made on with a subdued blade finish. Looks like a winner nonetheless.
@Allasour1234 I can't speak with any auuthority on that but, if those things even really exist anywhere outside a James Bond film, I would seriously doubt they use a Cold Steel push dagger for the blade.
Are you sure this would extend to this type of knife? I know for example, we have the same law here with the exception that they would likely consider this a "knuckler" type weapon so it would be illegal.

(a) Any person in this state who does any of the following is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or in the state prison: (4) Carries CONCEALED upon his or her person any dirk or dagger. 25(d) Knives carried in sheaths which are worn OPENLY suspended from the waist of the wearer are not concealed within the meaning of this section. And nowhere in any of this is there a length limit, or a ban on double-edge or open carry, it's all cool man.
gosh i want one of these. there small enough for a light and easy edc and leaves room for a good utility knife, flashlight, ect.
@Kuksoman The sides are sharpend but the tip is needle sharp. Push knives are mainly used for stabbing.

It was at one time. Maybe in November we can do something about it.
If you know Cold Steel, ask them about making a Trench Knife.
