Another one very nice engraving video bravo Marius. Question, after finishing the sculpting do you smooth - polishing the piece or you left it as it is? Thanks and continue uploading new videos.
Thank you very much! The video quality is really bad, but I had an issue.. I’ll make another one soon as there is no way this project will finish soon :-) Anyway for your questions it’s more of a personal preference. Some like to see the small sculpting marks (obviously not too big) and some like it more polished and clean.. personally I think I’m leaning a little more to the last. It’s more work and has to be a little more careful as every mark will easily be seen when trying to be clean.. We’ll see, but you can do both and both are well accepted :-)
Hi, the knife is stainless steel. It’s an old knife so I’m not 100% sure what kind of stainless but I guess 400 series because it cuts very nice. I’m using around 28 - 30 PSI. You don’t really need a lot of power.. I could go more fast with more power, but I prefer a bit less hard and more control and less punch marks. :-)
Nice videos. are they blunts how do they sharpen them? Can sculpting be done on hard metal, for example, titanium knife handles or just soft metal? thank
Thanks! :-) Shame the video quality was so bad.. anyway yes I grind them round and make a flat on the tip like a hammer, quite small. This is stainless steel.. but there are many grades. Some are gummy and crap and I wouldn’t bother.. this is probably in the 400 series and quite hard, but comfortable to work on. I guess there are many grades of titanium too, so I think it will depends. I’m sure some yes and some no.. unfortunately I don’t have the full overview. For sure softer metals are easier, but I think it’s fun with a little challenge :-) Thanks for watching! :-) I’ll make some better quality videos soon..
@@engraverhand Thank you for the information. I. keep learning in carving and your videos are very helpful. Today I tried an inlay with a wide area and I failed😁😁 but it's easier to do in lines. maybe I failed to make a ditch to keep it in place. how to make a trench for a wide area inlay, I'm blind. Your video is good, maybe the placement of the camera angle is not right
Every fail is good for the experience account.. I have done a lot and will for sure do more. Sometimes I just quick make videos of what I have, sometimes I spend a little more time.. but I really wish to make a lot better and exploring videos, just struggling a little with time these days.. :-)

Muchas gracias, me paso lo mismo que dices puse el pistón pesado y 60 70 psi pero marca mucho, saludos
Yea I mostly use the normal piston for this and not very much PSI or hard hits.. it takes more time, but I like the result better :-)
