Pardon me, but I'm confused as to why that is wrong. Isn't "steel chair" perfectly fine to say even though both "steel" and "chair" are nouns? Fun behind the scenes fact. Joe Dante, the Gemlins director, only agreed to do Gemlins 2 because he was allowed to have the movie filled with all the wacky gremlins.
Not true. Dante didn't want to make the sequel to Gremlins. He felt the original had to be a stand-alone film. But the studio was forcing a sequel w/or without Dante. So he agreed to do the sequel only if he could get away with mocking Hollywood's thirst with sequels. The movie is making fun of how Hollywood will milk a franchise dry. That's why he wanted to make it.
Fun fact: The film ended up so ridiculous because the writers didnt want to make another one but the studio said they would do it without them so they went crazy 🤣

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit I did too! I was thinking "damn, I don't remember these clips in the sketch. Did they really film these for a sketch?!" Then I realized it was actual footage from the movie! 🤣
I think the fact that the Great Hal Rudnick is in this bit, leads me to believe that he probably wrote 90% of this sketch. If y'all haven't seen him in Movie Fights, your missing out.
You can: it’s called Mannequin 1 and 2; the character is literally called Hollywood, played by Meshach Taylor in 1987 and 1991, respectively. He literally wore the same sunglasses and look, minus the blonde hair. Meshach was also on Designing Women for all seven seasons.
I'll say this: as utterly ridiculous of a movie G2 is, it wasn't that out of place during the late 80's. Its slapstick tone and ott-ness couldn't have happened at any other time. But nevertheless it stands out by being a genuine original movie. Even a flop has value if it's original, and that's something any creative people could learn from today. I think nowadays people are too afraid of failing or of doing something ridiculous because might make them look bad or different. Take a hint from someone who never let that stop him: Weird Al!
