Influenced by R&B, soul, and hip hop, Badu rose to prominence in the late 1990s when her debut album Baduizm (1997), placed her at the forefront of the neo soul movement, earning her the nickname "Queen of Neo Soul" by music critics.

I listened to Erykah since I was was in preschool ,high school i bump this while going to work from caset player to digital she keeps me humble and 100% real® I'm a grown man now who knows how to handle my responsibilitys because of her , and for the fact that I'm south African 🇿🇦

Just listening to the opening part now....WHOA....those musicians!!! the flute...the percussion....the bass....the keys....they sound amazing!
Loving this woman from the core ❤ what a talent she is and her amazing band.
I found this for the first time 1200 pm EST May 11, 2024.
I didn't know I needed it as much as I do at this moment. It came exactly WHEN I needed it. I have been trying my best to exude the same energy as this Queen does in her every breath. Badu has always been the Queen.
Her recurring dream is one that I have been trying to live. It is almost as if she created this performance for a future moment for the exact person to hear it at the moment they needed it, and that is why this was recorded.
I know that people may think I am crazy for the way I live, speak, dress, react, and love. But there is a reason for everything that I do. I can only say part of my plan aloud and the rest will be left up to chance that it will go the way the future needs it to.
Thank you for understanding your inner Goddess so that the rest of us who were under programming could unlock what was needed. It took a VERY long time to unplug from the mainframe but once I did it was the best thing I ever did.
I still have moments that the programming tries to take over, and it takes extreme will power to stay present most times.
This was very long winded, and I generally have stopped writing to make sure that people would not have a solidified idea of the way my mind works. But maybe, just maybe I am supposed to.
I hope this very human moment I seem to be having reaches those who need it. Keep striving to sit and grow unddr the Suns Rays. You are a glorious reflection of the universe. And if you are a reflection of the universe itself.....why do you doubt your own mind?

im assuming if you are fully present people say you will be lead the way by your intuition. but what if nothing comes to mind? i get nervous when my intuition isnt speaking, 24/7. i feel scared to be left alone in the physical world. Bcuz the crowd is grown and only relying on the real cameras 🎥 to work while Intaking a masterpiece of performance cellphones are distractions
I’m really hoping it becomes a ban at most shows, like bringing cameras to concerts in the 80s. Not sure if the venue would lose money doing it but it’d definitely be nice to not look over a bunch of screens.
