    Hey there! I decided to record this video today. When you're working with our clients, we make great progress over time. However, the number one issue I see is that execution is too slow. This isn't accusatory-I face the same problem. Today, I want to share some tips on getting things done and reframing your mindset to make it easier to accomplish tasks. Procrastination is real and deeply ingrained in our nature and society. Let's dive in.
    First, the biggest reason we fail to execute or get things done is that tasks often seem too big or too vague. Tip number one is to start with SMART goals-Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timed. A fun way to ensure your goals are specific and measurable is the "Ten Tequila Test." If you can still understand your goal after a wild night, it’s specific enough.
    Now, onto tip number two. We run a weekly meeting called a "power hour," designed to get things done in 55 minutes. It creates a cadence of checking in every seven days. I recommend making your activities seven days long. If something's too big, break it down into smaller steps. Set milestones for each week, and each time you meet, reassess your progress and plan the next seven days. Making your goals small and manageable makes them easier to achieve.
    For bigger goals, like quarterly business objectives, I create an action plan-a collection of to-dos that break the goal into smaller, weekly milestones. For example, if I were writing a lengthy article, I’d break it down like this: Week one, outline; Week two, rough draft; Week three, second draft; and so on. This approach keeps you on track and makes progress more tangible.
    Clients who take the time to develop an action plan right after setting a goal are the ones who hit their quarterly targets. Those who don’t often fail to achieve their goals because they don’t plan adequately. I once watched a TED Talk by a young Indian woman who struggled with studying for the SATs. Her grandmother advised her to find joy in the work, not just the result. This mindset shift helped her focus on small, daily tasks-like studying for 30 minutes-without stressing about the final outcome. By making the task smaller in her mind, she overcame procrastination and got things done.
    The key takeaway here is that many people fail to start because they view tasks as too big or overwhelming. I encourage you to look for the minimum viable product and just get started. As business owners and overachievers, once you start, things tend to go well. All these tips and mental exercises are designed to make it easier to begin and maintain progress.
