- Hi! I'm a style, travel and lifestyle storyteller who loves all things leisure and luxury! I went to Ghana in December of 2021 for vacation. I have been to Ghana before. We traveled there from Senegal. We live in NYC and are African-American with no ties to Ghana. But we absolutely love to travel and traveling to countries in Africa is one of our favorite things to do!

We flew Delta Airlines into the Senegal and then flew Ethiopian Airlines from Senegal to Ghana (I do not recommend flying Ethiopian Air).

ABSOLUTELY LOVE GHANA! Visited for Afrochella 2019/Year of Return. We went to another "slave castle" in Cape Coast but Elmina is the larger one. Everyone broke when we got to the "Door of No Return". I cried just thinking about my ancestors possibly taken from this port knowing they would never return and I returned over 400yrs later after flying because of free will! I almost shouted! Look at God! I could feel vibrations under my feet walking thru the airport when we arrived...it felt like home. I was amazed.
I felt the same way when I, went to the castle cried like a baby seems like I felt my ancestor there.
The "door of no return" at the Cape Coast castle has that effect on everyone. It sends chills down your spine. Our forefathers really went through hell
You and your family are the business!! As a Liberian who just started visiting the continent, I am hooked. I’ve only been to Liberia but my next stop is Ghana. You look amazing in every frame. Love your vibe young lady!!

Truly, you should want to visit Africa to raise your vibration higher, not lower it by visiting the places where misery began for our people brought to slave lands. Black Americans give too much energy to the negativity that took us off course for hundreds of years. Fo and be inspired by the greatness of Africa that is now, no need to go backwards. Low vibration slave castles do not belong on anyone’s wishlist as goals. The beautiful fresh environment, the smiling faces of the people and the beautiful, artistic establishments they have created should be what compels you to visit Africa. And try not to make it seem like an unattainable or once in a lifetime goal. Flights to African countries leave from your nearest international airport EVERYDAY so stop “wanting” to go and take actionable steps to get there, PLAN IT. wherever it’s one giant leap or small steps to get there. That’s the only way one gets anywhere in life ❤️💫🌍.
