I'm just starting to learn expressions and was happy to come across this shortened version of your live presentation. However, I'm sorry that I could not make my project match yours by following this tutorial. I downloaded the project file and I couldn't understand why the project file has expressions that are much-simplified compared to this video? Thank you for the project file and I'll study what you have done there since it works very well. Thank you for the introduction to expressions in After Effects. Have a great day.
Wow that blows my mind. I’m quite a beginner at expressions and even I could follow, through need more experience to understand what’s happening :)) Thank you!
Love this! I'm sure there's a quick easy way to make the shape of the ripple anyway you want, square, polygon...I'm assuming you have to play with the angle for that expression from earlier on?
Hello, cool video. There is a grid of shapes (circles or squares). How to use a gradient controller to increase them on a black gradient and decrease them on a white one. There are many videos where the shapes on the rough are reduced and on the white they are increased, but not on the contrary. Please tell me?
Thanks for doing these deep dives, although they make me fell like I don't know anything! Ha...anyway, any idea why I keep getting an "illegal use of the word int" error when I try to put the expression on the radius? (8:17)
thanks! The problem you having is because you are using the Extendscript for the Expression Engine. You got to go File> Project Settings > Expressions > Javascript
Really loving the deep dive into these expressions!! I'm having trouble with the anchor point expression at 3:14, which video do you go over those in more detail?? Would appreciate the help!
Hey thanks man! Well, I don't have a video regarding the anchor point expression; I think you can try a Google search of "locking anchor point" for more details . But here is the expression if you need it: s=sourceRectAtTime(); [s.left+s.width/2,s.top+s.height/2]
What do we attach the Size slider to if "size" isn't a property? I have a shape layer comprised of two path groups (one is the stick of an arrow, the other is the "v")?
That knowledge and use case for % remainders is gold. I can see that being applied in such helpful ways. All these Master Studies are great 🙏
Happy to hear!

There must be an easier way. This is too much math and scripts.
