So nice to see Kennywood get some love as someone who calls it their home park. There are a segment of locals and longtime visitors who aren’t pleased with change and just spam Facebook comments to bring back rides that were removed 40 years ago. So I almost always see enthusiasts go there and their expectations are far exceeded. I kinda expected Parque Warner to be number one, but I guess the operations hurt it just enough.
I did to and i defently think so but Kennywood does have a very nice atmosphere way better then Warner madrid but i do like the the rides better in Madrid. You do have a very nice home park.
I liked my visit last summer a ton, but there are definitely some big changes needed that I contribute most to the people running the park.
@@sdc5914 they have a former Seaworld executive (he was there before they started ripping off people with fees and up charges), and a local at the top positions of park management. The problem has mostly been Parques forcing bad decisions down their throat, like the removal of classic rides they’ve been doing throughout the chain. It’s a pretty agreed rumor that the GM (the Seaworld executive I mentioned earlier) was the one who asked to bring Kangaroo back.
I've always had good visits to Kennywood.

Personally I find the ride system a poor choice, there are always people that will not see what is even hapening in front of them, instead looking at where they came from, but the sets don't feel as they've been designed for that, as everything happens in front of you.

Thank you for the Love to Kennywood, and for saying what I have always said aka the fact that I realy dont think Kennywood has bad Operations, Our lovely home park may have some problems but is a very nice and amazing park, that is getting well treated and taken care off, and have only gotten better the past 2 seasons from all the improvements they made to the experience lately! I cant wait to get back to Kennywood on its 2024 opening day this year, and ride my favorite coaster, Steel Curtain!
The issues seem to be occasional one train ops and Steel Curtain reliability. Otherwise they've been good for me.
It's amazing how you'll know when you're in a park owned by Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Disney, Universal, SeaWorld (now known as United), or even Herschend and Merlin for that matter. But when you visit a park from Parques Reunidos, you would never notice any similarities between them. You might with some of the North American Palace Entertainment parks, but the ones internationally have practically nothing in common with each other.
It is funny how dissimilar their parks look.
Sometimes they drop hints by putting up ads for their other parks in the region.
I love how you completely forgot to mention Coaster Express.
I wanted to highlight what the park did well, not their lowlight.
I was honestly surprised to see Phantom in number two. Considering you prefered Phantom over Ride to Happiness last year by one tier, I was expecting Phantom's Revenge to be number one.
Batman is exceptional.
I’m heading to Kenny wood this year and I’ve been to Lake Compounce and I loved that park especially at night during their haunt event. It wasn’t to spooky but the atmosphere and the fact that I was one of probably 100 people in the park really hit the spot. I love classic vibes of parks and I’m really exited for Kennywood

I've only been to Kennywood, but the park in Madrid is a must visit, along with Mirablandi. I could never serve anyone a burger that looked like the one pictured.
That burger haunts my dreams.
Parque Warner Madrid and Madrid and Kennywood look rightfully to be the best two parks in the chain; the latter broke drop records 3 times; Jackrabbit, ( in 1920 with a 70' drop) Thunderbolt (in 1924 with a 90' drop) and Steel Phantom (in 1991 with a 225' drop). It's the OG record breaking coaster park Cedar Point finally tried basing itself on in 1978 after having been around for over 100 years as an even older amusement park, probably the oldest in America, but I digress. Thanks for posting!
Kennywood always has gone for records. I believe Pitt Fall was the tallest drop tower at one point and Steel Curtain took the US inversion record.

STORYLAND MENTION!!! my family used to go every year as a kid. rode raurosaurus once when it first got built and hated it because it was too rough for me. idk if it’s improved its roughness since then. such a fun park for kids though :”)

of all the parks in this list, the only one i've been to is slagharen. I didn't have a bad experience with food personally, but what you said about the employees was true from my experience. Another thing that I found frustrating is how short all the queue spaces were, causing the lines to be on the midway. Only ride with enough queue space was Gold Rush, which was very poorly shaded.
I went on an extremely rainy day so everything was a walk-on, so that queue issue didn't manifest for me.
Parques Reunidos sneakily became the closest thing to a dominant amusement chain in New England. They also own Water Country in Portsmouth.
The clever thing about Story Land is that while it's a kiddie park, it has almost no kiddie rides per se (Canobie has many more). Instead, it has *family* rides that you can share with your children (while the child-exclusive activities tend to be play areas). I really appreciated that.
Operations at Lake Compounce could definitely be better--it seemed like a lot of rides didn't open with the park, if they opened at all, the last time I visited. it's a bit frustrating because the park's ride collection is noticeably improving and it's inching into the position of the closest thing to real competition for Six Flags in the region (without losing its visual charm).
Lake Compounce really needs multiple trains on their wood coasters with the addition of speedy pass.
Castle Park is worth a visit. You probably would place it last here but I think it would be higher than other parks on your California list
The mini golf and flume look cool.
I think Parques Reunidos should invest into purchasing La Ronde and Six Flags America to add to the chain The Only 2 big parks in Parques owns in North America are Kennywood and Lake Compounce. They should purchase 2 more North America Theme Parks to compete with the Six Flags and the Cedar brand parks.
I wouldn't mind them expanding.

Just left Dollywood had a fun time! Met the people from big brother season 20, got on big bear for the first time, coaster was great, and got on every coaster and lightning rod 3 times until it got stuck on its lift 💀💀💀

It's a quriky ride, but I find it just ok.
I've only been to 4 of their parks (I didn't actually realise adventure land was a parque reunidos park lol)
1 Parque Warner Madrid (thought the coaster.lineup was solid and the operations surprisingly good for a parque reunidos park)
2 Kennywood (ngl I think kennywood has a slightly better lineup but the operations are the worst of any park)
3 Adventureland (I actually love this coaster lineup it think its underrated but the operations definitely holds this park back also the coasted lineup isn't as good as the last 2 parks)
3 Lake Compounce (not bad but the operation and coaster lineup can't compare to the other parks)
Adventureland was acquired recently.
That's odd I think parque Warner Madrid actually had solid operations on par with like a middle tier six flags park
Maybe I've been unlucky, but I've seen the B&Ms on one train most times.
Kennywood #1 - but I will never forgive them from when I was 8 and asked for a map while my mum was getting treated for a bee sting and they made fun of my Deep Michigan accent.
With that being said, I heard you mention poor operations and even rudeness, I can confirm this as true......but every visit to Kennywood after they mocked me because I said "maayup", they have been really cool and the operations smooth.
My question for you - would you rather go to a park with friends where the rides are great, but the workers are all d-bags, or would you and your friends rather go to a park that's got Mid-rides, but the staff goes out of the way to make sure you have a great time?
Sorry you had a bad employee experience. I haven't had that issue there.
as a dutch person myself i can say with confidence slagharen has really bad personel i once went on a field trip 2 years ago and a friend was scared of a part of the indoor water ride so he jumped and the employee said to him if he would do it another he would send are school away from the park and when i heard that i was shocked that the ride operator said that and thatt burger idk what to say on that so for people going to the netherland for the themeparks the only good thing there is gold rush and you could instead drive ten to twenty minutes south and then you will find slagharen which has some older rides but is 10 times better

Its insane to me that one chain has all that IP at their parks. Mr Rodgers/Daniel Tiger, Thomas the Train, DreamWorks, DC, Looney Tunes not to mention the movie IP like Star Trek.
I'm guessing a lot are pre-existing deals, so it'll be interesting if those remain as the years progress.
Operating across many different countries means that IP deals can vary in unexpected ways. In the US we associate DC/Warner IP (with a few exceptions like Harry Potter) with Six Flags, but that's just here.

You think Kennywood is better the warner madrid? I did't get steel curtain but i can't think its better then the new one in warner (wich wasn't open yet the last time i was there). I do agree Kennywood has really nice atmosphere. As for the park you didn't do its probable 3 from the bottom. I was pleasantly suprised but then i had very low expectations it was just a park i could squize in. Its nothing speciale but fun enough to kill a few hours. Or if you a kid maybe the entire day.
Kennywood's deep and unique ride lineup gives it the edge for me.

I enjoy Kennywood, but I can't stand Palace Entertainment. They've done nothing but ruin my home park idlewild and Kennywood isn't faring much better. It's frustrating how that park is ran, and as someone who goes there all the time, I realize more and more how it keeps getting worse. I miss Idlewild before Palace bought it, it was my childhood and seeing them remove one or more rides every single year hurts. Nonetheless, Kennywood is only a 50 minute drive and I still go there at least twice a week because they have a great coaster lineup, and phantom is legendary.
I'm lucky Story Land still feels similar to how it does when I was a kid.

Do you think Parques Reuindos or Merlin is overall the better chain? I love Parque Warner Kennywood and Movie Park. BoulderDash is also amazing. I haven't been to any merlin Park yet.
I like both chains. Parques has more variety.
