I once rode a breakdance in France. The cycle was about 15 mins long. I don't usually feel ill after a ride, but I thought I was going to throw up. 2/4 of our family members threw up on the ride and another after we got to our hotel. I still get nightmares about it.
Swinging Ship rides have always had a special place in my heart for introducing me to airtime. My personal favorite is the one that used to be at my school fair. Though it was small-scale, the single position lap bars gave me so much room, around 3-4 inches of room. And since I was GP the last time I rode it, I thought I would die XD
I love the Orbiter Ride, the old one they had (but, removed for whatever reason) from Seaside Park in Bridgeport Connecticut. Thanks for sharing with us this interesting video!

Canobie Coaster Sounds like so much work! I still haven’t finished ranking my favorite coasters incorporating all the new ones I rode in the summer of 2019! 😂
Canobie Coaster I am good about adding every coaster to coaster-count the day I ride it, and I’m good about jotting down little notes at the end of each day to remember the experience on any new coaster. I’m just really slow about turning those little notes into entries on my overall rankings. I would think it’d be an enjoyable process, but for some reason I find it surprisingly tedious. As for flat rides, I don’t always bother with them at parks, especially if they look like familiar models. So I couldn’t really rank them. I just know that a select few - like Talocan or Vertigo - stood out to me.
I'm sorry to say that the example shown in this video is at Blackpool pleasure beach. I was a ride op at Blackpool for 2 years and know this ride inside and out, also the grand national roller coaster in the back ground after the operator cab kinda gives it away

Canobie Coaster I actually didn’t ride the Europa teacups! I didn’t want to risk getting queasy, and I had my share of teacups as a child growing up near Disneyland. But I stopped to admire how beautiful the Europa teacups were. Those Story Land tubs in the video are beautiful! Another place I would have visited this last summer if it hadn’t been for the plague. On a vaguely related note, a definite bucket list ride for me is the Tyrolean Tubtwist at Joyland in England. The last of its kind, I believe!
7:37 There is a Roll-O-Plane at Little Amerricka that does horizontal rotations, and that was easily one of the most intense experiences I have ever gotten on any flat ride. Not only was it being run faster than some others I have seen, but it had a really long cycle time
I've been on two types of Skycraper-type rides: a Booster at Coney Island, and the Cyclone at Big Kahunas in Destin. I had already been on Mission: Space multiple times by then, but the first time I was on the Cyclone, the G-Forces felt a lot more intense, and I was pinned to my seat the entire time. I also loved wearing the five-point harness. I think that a harness also creates this sensation of openness that you can't get from traditional OTSRs, while also giving you the option of tightening as much or little as you like. In my case, I tightened the restraint as much as I could, and I loved how it just conformed over the shape of my body, unlike most restraints. I think it really is too bad that most thrill rides don't use a harness like this, because I find that they really are more comfortable than most other restraints. The second time that I rode the Cyclone during a second trip to Destin, it felt a lot less intense, and up to this point, I thought that perhaps I was just becoming used to high Gs, like how the body becomes resistant to the effects of drugs. Now I suspect that it was because I was riding under a different operator, so when I go on the Vomatron in Kissimmee, I'll try to remember to tell the operator not to pull any punches, and just let it do what it was designed to do. It is good do see that there is still at least one functional Vertigo-type ride left, because I've only experience 5 g's for about a second, and passing out is a chance that I would like to get to take.
My favorite flat is the cortina bob traveling with Elliot’s amusements of Michigan. It’s one of if not the only brake dance traveling in the us. It usually runs for about 5 minutes and is disorienting. There tempest is my second fav. There usually right next to each other at my local far by the entrance so I don’t even need to go to the back
I love your videos of flat rides! They are some of my favorite rides. Sometimes over looked by the coaster rides. I've had more fun on flat rides than coaster rides. Great job! I grew up by Arnold's Park. Still love that old wooden coaster.
That breakdance is a great one but there is even a better one on the European circuit named Deca Dance. It’s even faster, has an incredible lightning package and smoke effects, very long circles, the dance music (European house and techno) is always blasting out of the speakers sometimes they even have a dj in the booth, what makes for a great atmosphere. It’s a dance club by itself. Look the footage up, there is enough on UA-cam, it is a spectacle even to just watch. That shaker I also know that’s the best of its kind. I don’t like swinging ships but a lot of people I know say the one in the Efteling is a great one probably because its the biggest one of its kind I think. I love to do some of those older flat rides like the whip or even a twister or a Walzer you don’t see those on the European mainland.
You're so intriguing! I'm honestly laying here with a smile on my face in pure bliss. I love that you're so comfortable with yourself. I'm just assuming that you're solo on your adventures and that's my life but going to a theme park alone would give me anxiety. Like what do you do in the queue lines?
Sometimes I go to parks alone. Sometimes I go with enthusiasts. Other times I go with family and friends. It honestly depends. In the queue line, I either take pictures of the ride if there are good vantage points or browse the internet on my phone.
I’m so thrilled that something from the PNW made the list. Go Seaside! We have 10:33 sad and pitiful amusement offerings.. and oh! You liked one in Washington, too!
You have a great taste in flat rides, nice. If you do go back to the UK or Europe, you should try a tagada a very fun ride, It's also loved by many. Zierer Starshape Air and the loopfighter named AtmosFear are my personal favourites
At my nearest funfair the waltzer is Insane cause like you said the operators manually spin you plus the normal spinning that is already super intense.
My personal favorite Scrambler was the one at Pacific Park. You got to high-five people on that thing while they were waiting in the cue. It was amazing.
I saw you mentioned Knoebles, I don't know if you know from last year to this year. Knoebles is now officially adding a Bayern Kurves to it's line up (currently being worked on); they're finally replacing their Power Surge, they are switching it from the transportable carnival one, to the permanent amusement park one. Also adding in the mix they added the Rock-O-Plane to their line up. Last I knew they were working on it's new home by the Antique Cars.
I'm old school! Hands down Turbo is the best flat ride! Look it up. The video tells all. Going forward is fun. But going backwards makes Chance Chaos like a kiddie ride. I really wish they would bring it back!
BTW, my favorite Wipeout is the one from Poor Jack Amusements. They run it so intensely that they stop the ride halfway through to let people have a last chance to exit the ride before they turn it into a bucking bronco. I mean they spin the holy hell out of the ride and then spin the arm too. You feel like you're just gonna fly out of the ride. My favorite Musik Express ride is the Belle City Rock n Roll. They gradually crank the speed of that ride up over the course of about three minutes, running it backwards first, and then ultimately running it forward at the full speed of 14 rpm (it's a Bertazzon model).
actualy the best Himalaya ride is the one from north american midway on the mid america shows unit they run it so fast you would fling out if you didn't pull the bar down.
i’ve rode the orbiter at lake winnie many times, due to me living an hour away from it, and while it is a great orbiter, it isnt my personal favorite my personal favorite is the one that i rode at the north carolina state fair. idk if it’s just me, but they were running that ride scarily fast, and the forces on it were crushing. if you ever go to that fair, you should try it

Do you go on the Zipper when it comes to The Deerfield Fair in Deerfield NH? That was my first experience and i got sick on it so bad in the 5th grade nobody would ride it with me again! They called me the zipper ripper until high school...
I was wondering, will you ever do a review on lagoon in Utah? You have the best reviews on youtube, I think your reviews are better than airtime thrills and even coaster studios. Keep up the good work, and ride on.
This is a great video. I'll have to watch it again for my own personal research into flat rides. I rode the Aerostrat at Blackpool and the operator was enthusiastic about operating such and old ride and appreciated my interest in his enthusiasm. I regret not having ridden the Screamin' Swing at Cedar Point (the only extreme flat ride that was operating when I was there) but did ride the one at Thorpe Park. Are they different in size? We have Break Dance, a Swinging Ship and a Top Spin at Playland in Vancouver, and we used to have a Zipper and before that we also had a Whip. Thanks for posting this video!
I think the one at Cedar Point may be a bit larger than others, but it feels no different from a ride perspective to me. The placement matters most for a Screamin' Swing since the sensations and cycles are often similar.
Speaking of rolo plane the one at Sylvan Beach is even crazier than the one at knobles cause it is like that one but it runs even faster and has a really long cycle
@@CanobieCoaster I live in Puyallup, its a great fair but washington and the surrounding states do not offer much for coasters, so we travel east to ride, headed to dollywood and Fiesta Texas this summer, I love the videos, keep up the great work
The only Spin-Out I’ve ridden is Malestrom at Morey’s Piers I only rode it once in 2018 or 2019 with my dad and I felt so heavy it was so much fun I’m sad it’s gone
Sorry for the comment on an old video, but do you know when Fiesta Shows acquired their Top Gun? The fair ride supplier that used to supply most of the fairs in my area had a kamikaze with the exact same name and color scheme/lighting package. The supplier's last year was 2017. After that, I know some of the rides were sold. I'm kind of wondering if this is the ride that used to be in my area. It has a lot of nostalgic value to me, as I rode it so many times at my county fair for years and helped me get over my fear of rides. Would be really cool to find out that it wasn't scrapped.
I was not impressed by that ride as a 5 year old. I spent the whole time complaining that it didn't actually go upside down. I think I'd appreciate the ride more now.
So that Top Gun you listed....I have a small world story about it. I live in Ohio, and there was a company here called Bates Amusement Company. They had a ride called Top Gun which was a Kamikaze. But the sign used to look exactly like the Top Gun logo. Bates had numerous mechanical problems with the ride over the years. Eventually, they seemingly ironed out the issues. The last time I saw the ride was in 2013, after it was refurbed. Instead of still having the blatantly copyright infringing Top Gun logo, they changed it to where the sign on top said "Top" and the word "Gun" was going down the side. Bates ended up selling all its rides after 2017 when the Fireball incident happened here. Most of their rides went to local Durant Enterprises. Some others went to other companies in different states. I believe that Top Gun is the old Bates one. It has to be. It's the only one that looks like that one. The other branch of the company, Bates Brothers Amusement Company, still exists.
@@CanobieCoaster I think the Fiesta Top Gun is the old Bates one, since it has the redesigned sign that the Bates one had. I don't really have any proof though lol
I hate the Kamekazie type rides because on the one I rode the restrains were too wide for me so one of my shoulders was slipping through the restaint. It was scary.
I .liked the streat fighter from wade shows they were at one of my loco fairs and they had that ride so I.went on north american midway has one called the stardancer and far out is the best claw ride
I was surprised with just how much fun the Air Race at FunWorks was, especially with how it looked like the park was geared more towards kids. Did the Roll-O-Plane at Arnolds Park not go horizontal for you? I could have sworn it did for my visit. As a subcategory, which is your favorite inverting frisbee?
The Rollo-O-Plane at Arnolds Park didn't go horizontal the day I was there. My favorite inverting frisbee is Flip Fly, which I talk about in my favorite flat ride video.
I don't plan to review some of the smaller ones like Crazy Mice (I have the Steel Pier one reviewed) or Wildcats (I will review the Adventure Park USA one). But I will review some of the unique ones in Europe like Olympia Looping and Alpina Bahn.
I rode it back in 2012, and it had hella floater air. It went faster and faster as it rose to the ceiling, and also backwards. They might have neutered it in its later years.
Inverter at Adventuredome is actually the worst ride that I have ridden. The green rods on the restraints constantly push them down, so you get insanely stapled while getting insane hangtime.
I heard that you said that Flying Carpets is located at Lake Winnipesaukee but that's not right. Did you mean Lake Winnepesaukah is where Flying Carpets ride is located.

I've never been to the Deerfield Fair, but I've been to carnivals from the same showman.
Hershey park used to have a wagon wheel like the one you mentioned
That has incredible airtime
I think Lake Winnie's was that exact ride relocated.
@@CanobieCoaster no kidding
I really miss it
So is it still open ?
Nice video idea
Thanks!
The best Parachute ride was the one that use to be at Knott's Berry Farm you use to be able to stand up on the baskets.
I saw one like that at Tokyo Dome City.
That’s crazy
fav powersurge is knoebels cause it turns fast and lots of flip same with coney islands both ran intense cycles
The Knoebels one does give a good cycle.
I was wondering, will you ever do a review on lagoon in Utah? You have the best reviews on youtube, I think your reviews are better than airtime thrills and even coaster studios. Keep up the good work, and ride on.
I would like to get back there first.
At Washington, what do you think about inferno, rainier Rush, Wildcat and Tiger Express?
Inferno is good. Wildcat is fine. The other two are bad.
best breakdance astroland coney island cause of how intense it was and a long ass cycle r.i.p
Wish I could have ridden that one.
Soriani and Moser Extasy that we had traveling with Mighty Bluegrass Shows (Tampa FL)
Nice!
At Yesterland Farm, what do you think about Mindwinder and Range?
Like Mindwinder. Hate Range.
You missed out on Skyhawk at Cedar Point. I rode it and Windseaker literally the day before yesterday.
I've ridden it. It's a fun flat.
12:50 that's just screaming my name 😂
It's a great ride.
At the washington state fair, did you like inferno more than wildcat, tiger express, or rainier rush?
Yes
12:02 I rode a ride like that and it also had insane hangtime
Nice!
Speaking of rolo plane the one at Sylvan Beach is even crazier than the one at knobles cause it is like that one but it runs even faster and has a really long cycle
I need to get to Sylvan Beach. The park always seems to be closed the times I pass by it.
Have you experienced the tea cups during Fright Fest at SFGAm?? They’re in the dark and it’s great!
I haven't, but I've ridden the Terror Twist overlay at some of the East Coast Six Flags parks.
Shots out to the Puyallup Fair (washington state fair)
I enjoyed my one visit there.
I enjoyed that ride a lot.
My dream flat ride would be an orbitor type ride with a lighting and sound package like Atrosphere at Funtown
I wholeheartedly encourage more indoor flat rides.
Great choice on the star flyer! #MondialGang
I know it's easy to make fun of the Windseekers for their issues and downtime, but I have no issues with them from a ride perspective.
@@CanobieCoaster oh I'm not making fun of Windseekers I love them! In fact I actually work at the KI one
@@MrMondial That one gives great views too.
Have you ever ridden the traveling Shake that Wood Ent travels with?
Is that one in Germany? If so, maybe.
@@CanobieCoaster travels here in the US like at the FL State Fair
Sorry for the comment on an old video, but do you know when Fiesta Shows acquired their Top Gun? The fair ride supplier that used to supply most of the fairs in my area had a kamikaze with the exact same name and color scheme/lighting package. The supplier's last year was 2017. After that, I know some of the rides were sold. I'm kind of wondering if this is the ride that used to be in my area. It has a lot of nostalgic value to me, as I rode it so many times at my county fair for years and helped me get over my fear of rides. Would be really cool to find out that it wasn't scrapped.
The first time I saw Top Gun was 2019.
@@CanobieCoaster looks like its a possibility then. that'd be so cool
1:49 apparently there are really good bumper cars at Santa Monica boardwalk
I'll have to try them next time I am there. I've only ridden West Coaster.
GOD bless all.
Same to you!
Cedar Point really needs to invest into some of these.
I feel like their flat rides could be much better.
I like their flats, but wouldn't mind if they improved them.
What do you like better, Rock-o-Planes or Unicoasters?
Rock-O-Planes
Omg Clark’s trading post is still a thing? I remember going on a ride where the room went upside down it was so much fun 😂
I was not impressed by that ride as a 5 year old. I spent the whole time complaining that it didn't actually go upside down. I think I'd appreciate the ride more now.
What would you rate Flying Turns at Knoebels out of ten(1 being disasterous, 10 being absoluty delightful(Please use decimals)
It's a hard one to rate since it's so unqiue. Probably a 6-7.
Did you get to ride Commander whilst in Europe?
That one is perhaps the best Mondial Shake out there in terms of ride cycle and presentation
I didn't ride that one, but the one I ran in Germany looked like it ran a similar program.
Fiesta Shows by me has a kamikaze called Top Gun. It was closed this past weekend due to "weather" when it was pretty nice out.
@@CanobieCoaster I think the Fiesta Top Gun is the old Bates one, since it has the redesigned sign that the Bates one had. I don't really have any proof though lol
The best flat rides must include the ones on Stratosphere tower IMO
Those ones are amazing.
Nice videos
Thank you!
I hate the Kamekazie type rides because on the one I rode the restrains were too wide for me so one of my shoulders was slipping through the restaint. It was scary.
That's fair.
What would you rate Devil Cat at Clemington out of ten(1 being disasterous, 10 being absolutely delightful)(Please use decimals)
0 in the back, like a 3 in front.
I really want to ride a Shake sometime. There is 1 at San Diego County Fair called Magnum but I never got the chance to go there :/
I've ridden that one at a carnival in Texas. Wade Shows has a strong lineup.
My favorite inverting frisbee is Flip Fly, which I talk about in my favorite flat ride video.
my favorite in frisbee type ride is stardancer beacuse the claw will do a complete loop.then all the other ones
What would you rate Impulse at Knoebels out of ten?
I have a review for that one.
I know you are used to amusement park videos, but can you do top 15 attractions across any trampoline park.
I haven't been to enough trampoline parks to do that video.
I prefer the fair wheel at DCA at Dis ryland the seats swing ba k and forth and the seenery is just as wonderful
That's fair! That one is great too.
Zamperla introduced the power surge in 1999
Love those rides.
Do you like the car 1 on hurakan condor
I like the stand up tilting ones.
best enterprise was the spinmeister at great adventure?
not to mention it was the original one by swartzkolf
I never rode that one.
Please rank the Sky Zone trampoline park attractions.
I've only been to one.
In your opinion, what's in store for flat rides in the near future? I do see more fog and light packages in some videos!
I like how manufacturers keep combining 2 rides into one.
i know you've talked about some of the flats at fairs, but could you review some of the coasters too?
I don't plan to review some of the smaller ones like Crazy Mice (I have the Steel Pier one reviewed) or Wildcats (I will review the Adventure Park USA one). But I will review some of the unique ones in Europe like Olympia Looping and Alpina Bahn.
@@CanobieCoaster yep, that's what i meant! also, could you review rainier rush?
@@CoasterHorizons I'll be talking about that one in a video next week.
mindwinder is great
Sure is.
I got ti go on Jimmy Nutron at Nickelodeon Universe. There was also no airtime on that. It was a bummer
That's a bummer that ride doesn't give airtime. I imagine it could if it ran fast enough.
I agree the restraints on the inverters are less than ideal, but that's an issue for all of them.
5:52 kings dominion has the same one
Yes, but I prefer the view at Kings Island.
Isn’t a Vekoma madhouse technically a flatride?
Yeah it's a hybrid flat and dark ride.
I like pegalam rides
Me too.
I heard that you said that Flying Carpets is located at Lake Winnipesaukee but that's not right. Did you mean Lake Winnepesaukah is where Flying Carpets ride is located.
Yes
Did you get your name from Canobie Lake Park I always immediately think of that park when I’m on your channel and watching your videos
Edit: FRIIIIIIQQQQ I’M SO SO SORRY I RUINED THE 69 😭
Yes, it is my home park.
