I have seen setters in industrial gyms using the Petzl Rollclip as the top carabiner on an ascender, reducing friction when pulling your slack and making it easier to jug up and down big gym walls
For sure. What oval do you like best / use more?? I use more the Kong Classic Alu Oval screwlock. Not perfect for sure but cheap and dependable and great shape overall.
@@YannCamusBlissClimbing Petzl o's, DMM ultra ovals and DMM perfectos. I use autolocks because the industry requires it but I prefer screwlocks for ease of use.
@@brerrabbit4265 Great biners for sure! I think I prefer the DMM vs the Petzl OK. Also, often, I like the simple twistlock also I find it faster than both screw and triple-lock...
@@YannCamusBlissClimbing Tree industry requires triple lock but Ive never had anyone from OSHA or whoever come out and check my gear. They are a pain to open and close one handed.
I've found that if you combine the Edelrid Spoc with the DMM Belay Master there is no way of weird crossloading or potential for the carabiner to open, because of the plastic piece. Great content as always!
I had the same experience but the rope goes weirdly through the carabiner when you load it. Do I remember well?? I have to try again!! My connector to device table tells me it works…
I am very disappointed I thought of buying one after they were discontinued!! I will see if someone can sell me one. Don’t they have trouble with magnetic sand or something?
I have one that I use with my rapel device, it works fine with almost 10 years of use. Recently it started to not automatically lock in specific situations, but I think I just need to clean it so it returns to normal.
@@thebull54kp ok the CE manual lists only the OK triact lock. The ANSI manual lists only the Bm'd and the OXAN triact lock ANSI, both need the CAPTIV... Thanks for pointing that out! I learned something. Given that I usually don't want the CAPTIV, I will mostly stick to the OK TL. Otherwise I like the Bm'd, much lighter than the OXAN ANSI!!!
Awesome video. This type of video is where you shine. The more meticulous videos are always great!
Thanks a LOT!
Good details!
Thanks Ryan!!

Absolutely a use I would see for it!!
Really good info, Yann. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment!!
Great video. I climb mostly trees. I found ovals to be the best for tree climbing applications and gear compatibility.

Appreciated 🎉

Dmm rig with beckett. Awesome pulley-biner
Speaking of weird carabiners, I love love love my BD rocklock magnetron, really wish they weren’t discontinued

The bmd carabiner is also useable with the asap
Is it accepted by Petzl? I think only the Petzl OK Triact is accepted by Petzl for the ASAP no?
It is accepted by Petzl I looked in the instruction book.

At the Petzl OK i have problems to feel the orientation to open it. Elsewise its a nice carabiner
*triple action, double locking* - dmm perfecto, petzl OK.
What do you mean?
Triact. triple action
