Run some rain gutter along the long edge and have that gutter dump into a large cistern, set up onto some blocks or in a metal frame. Attach a threaded spigot to the cistern and then Felix can run a hose from the cistern to his garden. Free water!
Good friends and good dogs who also are friends warms my heart. It is rare in life to have true friends as companionship, happy for all y'all. Your shed is nice, I have two of them but smaller than yours, as mine are just for cars. Them metal shelters IMO is the best bang for the buck.
We've discussed getting one of these, for many years. I told The Old Farmer what yours cost, including concrete. That really sparked his interest. I really like that setup I know several people have mentioned it, but for your cold, try high doses of vitamin C. During flu & cold season & when we start to get sick, we take 4000 mg. works for us. I keep us on maintenance doses of 1000 - 2000 mg/day
I like the sound of the chickens. It reminds me of my childhood. We don't live in the city limits, but we don't live near chickens, either. Glad that RV shelter is working out for you! Looks great!
I agree. The chickens just add to the feeling of "Home" and shouldn't be a worry. Nice RV shelter and I know you are proud. I am glad the woof pack got used to it fast. I will be in Helen this week. I wish you and the babies could be there. Although it would be nice to meet you, as I have already said, I am madly in love with those fur babies. :D
Kevin, just a thought but perhaps you could incorporate one panel of Plexiglas coming down the side for light & to see out. If you don't want a visual you could use a panel of light colored fiberglass to let light in but can not see through it. Your cover is really great so glad for you.
After having a severe case of pneumonia I have to be very careful. When I got colds it would usually last about 10 days. Now when I definitely know I have a cold I start using ZiCam. Following the instructions I feel almost good again after 4 days. You can get it in a drug store (without a prescription) in both a nose or mouth spray. Works GREAT!!!!! Love the Wolf Pack!🐕😃
Ahhh! Congratulations! Looks great! Tracker 2" uplift done! Dogs trained! Sweet firepit! Maybe a French drain in your future. Inspiring. We all can see how content you are... even with your summer cold.
Lol - Tucker supervising you from the window! Shade in your neck of the woods must be highly valued! It's great that the rig is much cooler under the shelter. Great project build, thank you for sharing! ✌️
Kevin not having walls you can run the engine and the air always fresh..special in the summer when is hot..! Now if you install walls you may kill the light and you brother in law is going to have to install lights around...
Base camp is coming along great. And the babies are precious. I check my email alerts every day, waiting to see you all. They are so well behaved. Putting my two cents worth in with everyone else - gutters and rain barrels get my vote. Take care.
when I had my lawn care business, a customer had a neighbor with turkeys. Every time I would shut the door on my truck, they would gobble. Of course I would bang on stuff just to hear them talk. I learned how to talk with them using a straw from McDonald's. Chickens are kinda same way, any noise change they will crow.
this building is going to protect your roof too thats awesome. aww i love whipperwill. missed ya this week hope you feel better quick. hugs to the pack!
Recommend Agfabric 70% prefabricated shade panels. In black. Come with grommets. Check on amazon etc Mine is 10x24 Bob Wells had a video on the subject
Plus, the 'ageing' process of the motorhome is essentially halted....its the sun's UV that makes them look old and you have pretty much stopped all that.
I like that rooster.....so cute. Yeah....rain gutters with something to catch the water is a good idea. And drink some tea with lemon & honey for that cold. Don't use that chinese garlic as it has sulfer dioxide in it, use organic garlic for natural anti-biotics. I'm glad you are enjoying that new huge shelter for your RV. ....love your dogs, they are so cute!
I am so impressed with Felix's garden. Boy does it look wonderful. The color of those corn plants is just brilliant. You all are going to have a good harvest. Glad that you are feeling better. The woof pack looks wonderful. They are always being good dogs. Amazing that they stay on the pad and not want to get off. Great job training. Good to see Felix. Where was Foxy Lady? Hope that you will be able to go see David soon. Stay safe and happy trails. The tracker looks great. Love Joyce
I love the chickens! Please don't edit them out if you can help it. Reminds me of a simpler time on my grandma's little farm in Missouri.Takes me back. Good memories. That shelter is awesome.
Sure hope you are over your cold and ready for the next fun project(s). So glad to see the RV shelter has been such a success and been fun as well as useful.
I like the gutter idea, it will keep the water away from foundations. I also like the tennis court mesh idea if the sun is an issue , for, shade. Lots of great options for,you and Felix. The tracker looks good by the way
Great shelter Kevin - The extra height will also come in handy when you need to get on the roof of your RV for maintenance. Also - I know you love your neighbors regardless: I've experienced an annoying a neighbor's rooster myself but, even worse, I personally dislike it when a neighbor's dog barks all day long. A person has some level control over their dog barking. A chicken... not so much. - Your "Woof Pack" is so well behaved, it's a testament to how good you are with them :-)
Nice video CVK! Glad the RV shelter is working out so great for you. Always good to see your cute babies! It's awesome how you are able to train them to stay put on the concrete. My dog would be off that and in Felix's garden in a heartbeat! :) Can't wait to see you back on the road again! Take care!
You know its best not to worry about what you cannot control. I was embarrassed about it at first, but then I kinda just got use to it in the videos. They screw me up everytime. Its just easier to leave them in. I am certain they have lookouts sending signals to the best crowers!
You can go to a gardening supplier and ask for shade cloth. It blocks light but let's the breeze through. It also comes in various weaves allowing different amounts of light through.
Looking good Kevin..RV shelter and the tracker ! I think some sort of gutter system with hoses to direct the water away from the shelter would work. That shelter is really coming in handy..shade and fires. Glad to hear you're feeling better..colds suck !
Shelter looks good and really pumps up base camp. Expected Mae Mae to be loving on Felix in the short clip. 😊 I hear you on the summer colds. I'm suffering through a wet cough but no sinus congestion. However, I rarely get coughs and colds so I'm being a baby about it. Hope you feel better soon.
One thing always leads to another! Yep you need some gutters to redirect the water. If at all possible getting a catchment system would be a backup for the garden and other projects. Knew someone with that same RV cover and the pad and RV sat away from the main house. They had a drainage ditch dug where water rain down the back slope of their property. We get mighty strong winds here and there's is still standing after a lot of yrs. when they are gone, all the sons park their boats under there until Mom & Pop come back to roost.
Yea! Got to see the Woof Pack. Just a thought to keep colds at bay as haven't had one in I don't remember. I take Vitamin D-3 1000, C timed release 1000 along with a Balanced B Complex and I get them at GNC. Nice cover and now that you have it you might want to check out the top of your RV to put new caulking down to prevent any leakage. Love the looks of the garden. Take care and have a nice day!
glad you are feeling better, nice video, …a little suggestion, concrete sucks the life out of tires, you can extend the life of your tires by placing mats or plywood under the tires when you are parked….hope this is helpful…happy travels “Traveling with the Gramkracker"
save the rain water, you would love it, and it could help water the gardens, try not to waist the water, the cold is going around, had mine for ten days, take care of yourself, doing a good job,
I am based in Key West and park my MH on a concrete lot owned by my daughter and son-in-law. The previous owner had parked her older car on what is now my patio area and left a large oil stained area. My son-in-law has power washed it and treated it with several products but could not remove the stain. It is mostly under my patio rug now. I hate to think of that nice concrete pad getting oil stains on it. Aren't there some mats or tarps that can be used under the vehicles to catch any spills from automotive work? I like the gutters and rain barrel catchment idea.
Harvesting the water would be great to use on the garden. You might think about digging a trench along side the concrete to put in a plastic hose with holes in it, or fill with gravel so it doesn't wash out the dirt foundation under your concrete, preserving the edge of your concrete from corrosion and cracking. Redirecting and controlling the water is less expensive that repairing damage. I have a lot over by Melbourne FL that I would like to build a shelter like yours. I think you will get a lot more out of your investment than anticipated. Good decision !
Sorry to hear you have had a miserable cold. How is your back? I like your home base shelter. Looks like you will get good use from that. Chicken noises aren't bothersome at all. Impressed how little babes are so well trained. They are precious!! Take care!!
Building looks awesome! Collect that water and use it for Felix's garden. BTW...I LOVE your chickens! There was a girl in Hawaii I used to watch her channel and she would feed the chickens tortilla's and the viewers loved it. Everyone loves chickens! Especially me! Thanks for another great video.
Turned out nice, for sure. Nice area to hang out with a campfire. Love that whippoorwill. Don't hear them a lot any more. Felix 's garden is doing great. 👍
I think you were interrupting those chickens rehearsing their clucking choir practice for Sunday service. Lol. 😂 I think they want to sound amazing. 🤗😂😂😂 Tell Felix that I'm a bit jealous of his green thumb. Great obedient wolf pack! Love them! Keep well and safe, Kevin!
Hi Kevin, great vid by the way mate !! What I do I keep an eye out and ask if anyone has an old cardboard box that a new refrigerator or freezer came in and I cut the 4 sides off and I lay one of them on the concrete which I use to catch any oil drips and it also make a great creeper to slide under the car to check things and when it's worn out you just burn it and use one of the others spare ones. Seeya Rob
I thought that was a whippoorwill!!! I haven’t heard one of those in decades!! Love your base camp and Felix’s garden. I wonder how the dogs are laying on the cement, maybe have their beds out there. Especially for Martini and her issues.
they cut it very close the pad coulda been a few inches wider eh? so the bolts arent so close to the edge of conc. but it looks beefy. you got it made in the shade.
Have you done a review on that windshield/front door windows cover you have on the BT? I notice the front of my van gets a lot hotter than the rear. Of course, the widows behind the cab are all limo tinted. I was thinking of cutting some reflectics material to fit the front windows, but that outside cover looks nicer and seems like it would be better to store when not in use.
Hey Kevin glad to see that you are feeling better you do know that Chicken Soup is good for a cold right lol or invite the neighbours over for a roast Chicken Dinner lol. That RV shelter is awesome the Woof Pack looks great can't wait to see the vid of you and Bill doing the Tracker keep up the great work and Keep On RV'n...
Haven't seen all your videos just yet, however, if you haven't done so ... I'm sure people would be interested to see how you train your pups to respect boundaries. As to the water run-off issue .... french drains may be a consideration in the future as well. I do agree that you have perfect set-up for a rain catchment system. I'm sure you could capture several thousand gallons in no time at all. But, if not planning to spend much time there anyway, might not be worth the expense and effort. However, having it set up and available for future use might not be bad idea in case SHTF.
Do you take vitamins?? Might help too. As we get older I think we need a little help. We have chewable vitamins we get at Costco. We store them in the refrigerate because they melt & stick together. You could build frames to fit in the spaces of you shelter. Go to the garden stores to get that fabric you put in the flower beds to keep weeds from coming up. Staple that on the frames. Air can come through & you can see through it too. Just another idea. This might cost more of this project but this might help other who would read this for there porch for shade or maybe for a outside screen house. Or find way you can hang it on the outside of the shelter on both sides. For your colds. If you can & it doesn't hurt with your other meds. Went you feel like a cold or your trying to catch something. Take some Airborne. I think you can take it 3 time a day. I have not had a cold in years.
Really enjoyed your video with all the bird sounds in the background, you probably have some allergies too. Thank you for sharing! I always enjoy the woof pack, always! I like to hear the chickens I miss living on the farm.
when you travel, you will be wishing you had the shelter able to go with ya. Great setup, should be able to get by with lots less roof maintenance of the RV with it having less scorching, southern, and summer sun on it. Happy for ya, glad to hear you are on the mend. Dave&Purdy
#200 Good Morning, Kevin. Enjoyed your video on your new RV Shelter. You sound like you are getting all your ducks lined up for another trip. The Tracker is where you want it for off roading. Many of your viewers have ideas about rain abatement. They sound good. Just pick one that best suits your needs. Hope to see ya in Michigan sometime, their is a lot to offer up here, only 900 miles away.
You got it lookin nice and comfortable around there Kevin, and the Tracker looks great with that lift on it,. much better and better looking . Loved the sound of that Whipowil, (if I'm spelling that right), and the Rooster too,.. I would love to hear that around me anytime,.. country sounds are much nicer than the city sounds,. even the crickets sound good. :-) Many blessings and peace to ya. ✌
Great set-up! Really enjoy your videos. Thanks! Hey that was a Chuck-will's-widow and not a a whippoorwill. They are very similar, but listen closely and you can hear the difference. The chuck is a little bigger bird and can live further south. Unfortunately there is a decline of whippoorwills everywhere. We have both here in western NC, but hear the Chucks much more these days than the beautiful whippoorwill. No matter, both are a treat to hear!
What's in that big building on the other side? The one seen in the video where Tucker almost died in the lake and you were bathing him next to that big building at the end of that video.
wow! loved the whipperwhill, the roosters, the fire, all of it! How's your back been lately?? Say hi to Felix for me~ take care Kevin. p.s. We appreciate you too!!
Just discovered your channel. I'm jealous of your RV shelter. And I need your cement guy to replace and widen my drive. But most of all anyone who has Yorkies in my book is A OK. I've owned Yorkies for 35 years, use to show them. Sadly as of last month I only have a toy poodle. I look forward to seeing your Wolfpack.
Run some rain gutter along the long edge and have that gutter dump into a large cistern, set up onto some blocks or in a metal frame. Attach a threaded spigot to the cistern and then Felix can run a hose from the cistern to his garden. Free water!

You sound a lot better and you being stoked about your shelter is awesome.

ha! okdokie. surprisingly they are quiet most of the time
Glad you are feeling better, Kevin. Woof pack is looking great!
thanks Ms Cathy!
Glad your feeling better! Nice shelter. Those dogs are well behaved!

Awesome addition to the base camp!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!
coming along :)

Like Jackie Gleason used to say many years ago......."How sweet it is!" happy for ya!!
the shade cloth you discussed would be nice but maybe more money than simple tin . It would allow airflow, shade, visibility, and help keep rain out.
Really nice RV shelter. I love to hear the chickens!
they are only noisy now and then. for the most part they sit and wait until I begin recording. I am certain they have lookouts watching me!
when I had my lawn care business, a customer had a neighbor with turkeys. Every time I would shut the door on my truck, they would gobble. Of course I would bang on stuff just to hear them talk. The amazing thing about you, Kevin, is your capacity of genuinely love simple things (as always hoping it makes sense)
thank u :)
Hi Kevin shade cloth is the word we use in South Africa, its awesome and works beautifully
Plus, the 'ageing' process of the motorhome is essentially halted....its the sun's UV that makes them look old and you have pretty much stopped all that.

Great to see you feeling better. Missed your videos .
hated not making any. I was just cough cough cough nonstop. I waited till I could talk better ;)
Nice follow up video on the RV cover. The Tracker is coming along nicely as well.
I like the chickens they dont bother me Kevin, dont worry about It
You know its best not to worry about what you cannot control. I was embarrassed about it at first, but then I kinda just got use to it in the videos. They screw me up everytime. Its just easier to leave them in. I am certain they have lookouts sending signals to the best crowers!
I enjoy the sounds of the country!
You can go to a gardening supplier and ask for shade cloth. It blocks light but let's the breeze through. It also comes in various weaves allowing different amounts of light through.
hmmmmmmm
Looking good Kevin..RV shelter and the tracker ! I think some sort of gutter system with hoses to direct the water away from the shelter would work. That shelter is really coming in handy..shade and fires. Glad to hear you're feeling better..colds suck !
Shelter looks good and really pumps up base camp. Expected Mae Mae to be loving on Felix in the short clip. 😊 I hear you on the summer colds. I'm suffering through a wet cough but no sinus congestion. However, I rarely get coughs and colds so I'm being a baby about it. Hope you feel better soon.

Yea! Got to see the Woof Pack. Just a thought to keep colds at bay as haven't had one in I don't remember. I take Vitamin D-3 1000, C timed release 1000 along with a Balanced B Complex and I get them at GNC. I love your setup Kevin!! it looks so peaceful...☺ I hope that you feel better soon.
So good to see your video! Glad the new shed (?) is okay. Hope you feel better!! :)
I am much better today! thanks!
Campervan Kevin Good to hear that!
glad you are feeling better, nice video, …a little suggestion, concrete sucks the life out of tires, you can extend the life of your tires by placing mats or plywood under the tires when you are parked….hope this is helpful…happy travels “Traveling with the Gramkracker"
You have a good life Kevin.....Get well and God Bless you guys....
Great video, thank you for sharing Campervan Kevin.
I'm glad your feeling better, Woof pack is cute when they are fuzzy I know it won't last long when they start running around. LOL
Thanks Kevin,,,,,..............Lookin' good guy!!! TruckcamperJim workcamping in Iowa for the summer.
save the rain water, you would love it, and it could help water the gardens, try not to waist the water, the cold is going around, had mine for ten days, take care of yourself, doing a good job,
Have you considered a rain water retrieving system? You would never run out for washing clothes, etc. Felix could also water his garden too.
You have a great set up! thanks for sharing.

Redirecting and controlling the water is less expensive that repairing damage. I have a lot over by Melbourne FL that I would like to build a shelter like yours. I think you will get a lot more out of your investment than anticipated. Good decision !
wow! shelter really working out great! woof pack seems to like it!
oh yea
Sorry to hear you have had a miserable cold. How is your back?
I like your home base shelter. Looks like you will get good use from that. Chicken noises aren't bothersome at all.
Impressed how little babes are so well trained. They are precious!!
Take care!!
Back is some better. Thanks for comment :)
So glad you're feeling better Kevin ! Love the new set up ... great seeing the Woof Pack 🐾
thanks for saying hello!
I'm glad you're enjoying the shelter. Now Felix needs to build a shelter! lol
Closed cell insulation panels glued on the underside of that roof will also make a huge difference.
Yeah get a couple more of them IBC's and guttring with downpies to them and you will have 2000Ltrs of spare water to use 👌😎✌️
Glad you're feeling better we all want to say hi and the RV shelter looking good 😊
Building looks awesome! Collect that water and use it for Felix's garden. BTW...I LOVE your chickens! There was a girl in Hawaii I used to watch her channel and she would feed the chickens tortilla's and the viewers loved it. Everyone loves chickens! Especially me! Thanks for another great video.
Nice. You could put up eavestroughs with a rain barrel for Felix's garden.
Turned out nice, for sure. Nice area to hang out with a campfire. Love that whippoorwill. Don't hear them a lot any more. Felix 's garden is doing great. 👍
Only got a few whoops before he quit. maybe I will get him/her/it again :) got owls here too
me too, cold, awful! love the woof pack, and of course you!!
1
You could catch the water and use it in the garden . Hook a gutter system into a water tank .
yes
nice RV shelter it will protect your gel coat on your RV ,,, keep it from drying up and looking ashy:))
Good to see an update, and yes...I'm o e that loves to hear the chickens. 👍
Glad to see your on the mend! Love the Shelter.
Hope one day I can get up with y'all on the road.
love your base camp.
thank u!

Get a gutter for each side and a couple tanks to collect rain water. Free water.
I thought that was a whippoorwill!!! I haven’t heard one of those in decades!!
Love your base camp and Felix’s garden.

they cut it very close the pad coulda been a few inches wider eh? so the bolts arent so close to the edge of conc. but it looks beefy. you got it made in the shade.
You might dig a small retention pond to handle the runoff. And a few drainage ditches directing the water.
there is an idea
That is a beautiful place!
Loved the night sounds!

Vitamin C Kevin.... Vitamin C...get rid of that cold.....get well soon
Nice setup for multiple living spaces👍🏽
Hey Kevin glad to see that you are feeling better you do know that Chicken Soup is good for a cold right lol or invite the neighbours over for a roast Chicken Dinner lol. That RV shelter is awesome the Woof Pack looks great can't wait to see the vid of you and Bill doing the Tracker keep up the great work and Keep On RV'n...
Haven't seen all your videos just yet, however, if you haven't done so ... I'm sure people would be interested to see how you train your pups to respect boundaries.

my dogs understand borders, edges, and turns.....its a daily thing
use Val oil sealer/conditioner on the concrete. Used a lot on industrial shop concrete floors.
I have not had a cold in years.
yep, I take vitamins. I do need to look at the Airborne
Campervan Kevin It will really help. Read what's in it.
P.S. I love the roosters.
you should put solar on top.
probably would do better on rv support building. I think angle perfect and stronger roof as well
Really enjoyed your video with all the bird sounds in the background, you probably have some allergies too.
Dave&Purdy
sure I will miss it :)
Many blessings and peace to ya.
The one seen in the video where Tucker almost died in the lake and you were bathing him next to that big building at the end of that video.
more storage
wow! loved the whipperwhill, the roosters, the fire, all of it! How's your back been lately?? Say hi to Felix for me~ take care Kevin. p.s. We appreciate you too!!
Is the rv shelter huge or enormous? There's a massive difference
Great RV shelter, wish I had one. Do you have a hookup to dump your tanks to use under the shelter?
If need be, but I just use other buildings
Glad your feeling better. Cue the chickens. Hang around long enough to eat some of that sweet corn Felix is growing. 😀
Kevin tell Felix to send to a fellow Georgian and Puerto Rican a few of those veggies, grains and roots he is growing.
I look forward to seeing your Wolfpack.
welcome to the CVK family!
What? no marshmallows around the fire?
