Man, I know some free camping in WA where you can be alone as can be, with a driveway like a jeep trail that runs through the Douglass Fir forest, which makes a nice walk in the mornings or evenings. Then you can tend fire and listen to the wind come through the tree tops. First your hear it coming, and then in about 30 seconds it will come to your tree tops and get calm again, beautiful overcast mornings that turns to clear blue sky which is the norm on Summer days. Listen to the sounds of the forest. It's beautiful. You can be all alone out there, and stay for a couple of weeks. It's like having your own paradise. It's national forest land and it is beautiful. Peaceful. If you had a scooter with you, you can go out and explore some primitive roads and trails, or blacktop if you prefer and scout around for other places to camp. Your list of things to do that day can be short as can be. Gather firewood. That's about it.
The really expensive part, for those who do not have land available, is if you have to pay for parking , and fuel now days. Many full time RV parks will charge several hundred dollars per month, so you still have a monthly payment if you go this year round route. This situation is nice for him, but not common for full time RV owners.

His son is the saving grace. An affordable place to park in a safe area is the bane of low income RV living. In Florida, where RVers were allowed to park along the rivers, concrete barriers are in place. The cheapest RV parks are being bought out by high end RV parks (KOA).
Hey brother, code enforcement only has the power you give him. He's your servant, and 99.9% of the ordinances they try to enforce are unconstitutional, I had a friend live on the back 40 of my place in his rv, he ran into some hard times, got a divorce and Lost his home. He and his young son lived out there for a couple years, till he got on his feet. It was pretty nice, had electricity and everything. Well, wasn't long before the code enforcement guy came trespassing on my land and found out they were back there. He tried to scare me, threatening me with this and that..... but, with a registered letter of the facts, being, I own the property and consider it private and if he ever even looked at me cross eyed again, I'd light him up with a Title 18 lawsuit so fast his head would swim. Guess that was enough to send him packing, haven't heard from him since. So, yeah, don't let any little government commie tell you what to do, they are your servants, not your masters. Seems more and more lately the blood suckered try and find more ways to extort the people....any way, don't be afraid of them leeches!
@@arthursmith3401 haha that's an awesome story! I hope it's true, I can't stand municipalities telling folks what they can and can't do on their private property. Especially trespassing to scout it out would piss me right off.

Best wishes to him. The key is to keep expenses down. Boondock everywhere you can to save on RV camp fees. Helps with gas costs and eat in the RV also. Keep going!
Smart move. Nice rig ! It beats the high cost rent ect . In My area some places are going for $1,200 depending rent wise . Personally for that price you could probably get a RV & own it & fix it up the way you want.

@OffGridAdventure Not yet. In do time. I've been doing full-time van life for a year and 9 months. With no home base but a place to go and stay. Thanks to my wonderful sister ❤️. I was raised on vacationing in a travel trailer. My Grandfather has had Motorhomes all my life. But is gone now and so are all the good ole days. Haven't done any traveling in a TT or RV in a very long time. I want to learn a lot more about full-time before I make that decision. I'm 60 yrs. old, I'm gonna say in about 5 yrs. I should be RVing. Thanks for asking. Bye for now 👋
My brother asked me what kind of motor home to buy. I told him to get a pusher model. He did 10 years ago and has been a nomad ever since. He follows the weather. Footloose and fancy free!
This is what I'm in progress with doing right now, I'm currently 25 as of positing this, and I'm done with the increasing cost of living and stale wages. I just bought a small class C moterhome, and just gonna live in that, no rent no land tax no landlord, or mortgage. Just gasoline propane and and any repairs or upgrades.

Yep no property tax. Just gasoline tax, registration, insurance etc. After 25 years living in RV's I took note that it would have been far cheaper flying, renting cars, staying in Hotels and eating in Restaurants. And far far cheaper by doing so outside the US. Exactly what I did.

Guess that was enough to send him packing, haven't heard from him since. So, yeah, don't let any little government commie tell you what to do, they are your servants, not your masters. Seems more and more lately the blood suckered try and find more ways to extort the people....any way, don't be afraid of them leeches!
Areas without kilotons of zoning, building codes, etc are quite hard to find in the USA these days!
@@arthursmith3401 haha that's an awesome story! I hope it's true, I can't stand municipalities telling folks what they can and can't do on their private property. Especially trespassing to scout it out would piss me right off.
Pops Is Doing Well , God Bless Him and his independence.
Love this guy! Could listen to him all day.
I'm just getting ready to turn 40 this summer, and I've been dreaming of retiring to an RV life since I was in my 20s! I love it, and hope to be doing the same at some point.
What a great guy! Who is this? Hope he's living his best life right now.
I'm right behind you buddy . Good plan.
Your doing great and it's a much simpler life and less stress and financial worries. We own a Safari motor home too and we were on the road for a year and a half traveling across country. It is for sure a home and we wish you the very best. It's great to be able to pick up and go wherever you want and all your stuff is with you. Have a great life!
10:48 😂😂 very common we dont notice until it rains
This guy reminds me of the character Howard, played by Walter Huston in The Treasure of The Sierra Madre. I bet he's got a million entertaiing stories to tell from what sounds like a really varied life. I'd certainly love to hear more from him. Plus we need more free spirits in this increasingly regimented world. Hope he keeps on truckin' for another million miles!
nice see sweet guy an he's thinking Abt it all retirement money bills an freedom I wish u best in all u do
Thanks for your service to our country! My service was at home with a Fire Department for 20 years.
I agree wholeheartedly ! I'm dealing with the same dilemma and thinking about doing this !
Hey brother, how are you, my older brother retired and bought a 1994 pace arrow to see America. I went along for the ride and to help. We are boondocking right now at carlsbad caverns having the time of our lives!
Best wishes to him. The key is to keep expenses down. Boondock everywhere you can to save on RV camp fees. Helps with gas costs and eat in the RV also. Keep going!
Gotta hand it to the guy, he cut the cord on all the useless things that burden so many. He figured things out nicely for himself and has my respect.
He live life like he wanted to trying to do the right thing, and now he just living free! That's the life!
@5:08 quite the opposite I think it is brilliant!
My being 54 currently, I am actually looking into doing just as he did once I retire. Be safe!!
Smart move. Nice rig ! It beats the high cost rent ect . In My area some places are going for $1,200 depending rent wise . Personally for that price you could probably get a RV & own it & fix it up the way you want.
I live the same way buddy it's the best way to live man . Especially the way things are today.
Howdy. 👋
You are one helluva man. And. Thank you for your service 🙏. The apology you made for the clutter was not necessary. Clutter away. As long as you are comfortable. I gotta tell ya, your house looks so comfortable. What an amazing video. Thank you for sharing. I'm gonna watch this video a couple of times.
Bye, ya'all 👋
Hi Curtis, I’ll pass your message along to him. Do you have any plans with an RV?
@OffGridAdventure
Not yet.
Just found you, love your new life,,u seem so happy,,you are a hoot sir,,keep on livin the life,,God bless you
This is what men do . . . Absolutely beautiful 👏👏 👏 we will “always “ survive . .
I’m actually looking into it.
Hi Linda. Good luck and enjoy if you do it.
God bless and keep you sir!! Praying that the Father will give you long life and heal you from COPD. Go back to the VA and get what is rightfully yours. You served our country and they should serve you for doing so! Blessings!!
he said he got put out of the service ' under less than honorable conditions'. So he wouldnt qualify.
Yes, Amen. I'll pray for him also.
My dad was a Vietnam Vet 100% disabled Army Veteran and he had to deal with agent Orange also. Thank you for your service
Looks pretty cozy.
He has a great setup!
Good for you. You are blessed. Be happy, that is all that matters, you have what you need. That is Great! God bless you , you did the right thing. You are safe and have everything you need.
You are amazing. Enjoy life!!!!!
He’s a down to earth man. Nice to talk to.
This is one of the best videos I have ever ever seen pleasant voice. Ty
Nice home! You're going to do all right!
Hi Linda, he did pretty decent with it.
I guess he doesn’t realize the Rv/ van/ tiny house on wheels movement is exploding!!! He’s living many young peoples dream… mine too! I love full time in my Rv and have no regrets… I do travel in mine though…
Living a realistic reality. I love it. I'll be right there with ya someday. Love the set up. Don't know if I'll ever be able to afford something that big. But I like how you did it.
Thank you for your service! I'm happy for you that you have a place to live that's comfortable, workable and affordable. Thank you for showing us your RV home and may God bless you. --Don in Indiana
Yep no property tax. Just gasoline tax, registration, insurance etc. After 25 years living in RV's I took note that it would have been far cheaper flying, renting cars, staying in Hotels and eating in Restaurants. And far far cheaper by doing so outside the US. Exactly what I did.
Yep, the government and corporations have to continue to milk you for all you're worth!
Love the lay out. A shoe holder(fabric), hung on the wall will Tame those wild bottles on the bathroom counter!
Congratulations on your million miles and your own new found freedom …. My husband and I and our dog Mako live in our 350 square foot travel trailer! We love the beach so we took our Sienna van to Edisto Beach and camped! Good lick on your new adventures …
Hi Nancy, it sounds like you have had some great experiences with your Sienna. Do you have any more big hikes planned this year?
@@AdventureGearTV good morning 😊no huge hikes planned for this year just lots of fun hikes in the woods with my dog Mako😊😊we live in such a wonderful spot the lake and the mountains. How about you what fun plans do you have?
I've lived in my converted campervan for 6 years and it's the best decision I have ever made
This man is wise. Subscribed.
Nice rig man ! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your new home !!
