    This rule is definitely helpful and shows that all you need to do to become the best is to train that extra few hours but obviously 10,000 hours isn’t going to make you the best or better as pros train hours on end but not all reach the top level and I’m sure if you’re passionate about it then you’ve done 10,000 hours easily so I’d say imo that the best way is to find your weakness and just train it over and over and over again! Whether it’s 1000 kick ups for 10 day and then 20,30 and so on until your final goal and you think you’ve mastered it or if it’s just playing others to practise 1 on 1 ability

    People also forget that football is not an individual sport. You also need to have a good understanding of the game and its tactics to succeed. Which is why academy players are more likely to go pro than a person who trains by themselves for 10,000 hours.

    Hey Matt, kindly help me with this issue.
    My name is Francis Amuzu. I have been watching your videos on UA-cam and today, I decided to send you a private message concerning how to get recruited into a soccer club. I come from Ghana, I play left back, center back and defensive midfield. I am 24 years of age and I have created a team with friends in the neighborhood without a coach due to financial constraints on my part to join some clubs here, but we do train as usual and organize matches against other teams. I would like to know if it is advisable for me to still have highlight videos of myself playing matches so I can send them to let's say, USL teams for recruitment so far as I do not have a coach and an agent and how should my CV look like for a trial if I get the opportunity? Thank you, Matt and have a great day!
    Best Regards,
    Francis.

    People don't realize how much hard it is to practice 10000 hours.. if u practice anything for 5 hours a day(which is btw a hell lot)..it'll take you nearly 5.479 years to achieve your goal of 10000 hours!!!!!!....i guess 98% of the humans never do that.

    The 10,000 hour rule is true but not the whole truth in terms of football. The 10 thousand rule is for a specific skill where as football has thousands of different different skills (short passing, long passing, close control , first touch, power, dribbling at pace and so on). The 10k hour rule is for people like musicians who have less skills to learn and improve. So for example if you where to put in 10,000 hours of long passing you will become world class in that area. But 10,000 hours of football in general won’t make you world class unless you’re extremely talented.
    I’m an academy coach, scout and semi pro footballer. Got offers to go professional this year and been at a few premier league sides on trial. If you guys want any help on how to get trials or just advice just send me a dm on instagram @frazcann3

      FC 3 how are you an academy coach and scout at 17?

    • @user-wh7uu5xq6w
      @user-wh7uu5xq6w 6 років тому +9

      Mesut Özil like anything you work hard and you’ll succeed since I was 14 I done volunteer coaching just helping out with different clubs and volunteered at my old academy then done all my FA coaching badges and licensing at age 15 then at 16 I started my uefa licensing and become an academy head coach. The professional academy I worked with didn’t have “scouts” just coaches so the coaches needed to do the scouting. I went around scouting local players, while doing my scouting FA qualifications I have scouted some highly successful young players. One guy is now on trial with benfica another 2 have been scouted for Manchester United. 6 months I build up a good reputation which other clubs seen then a left my job at my current academy and become a “freelance scout” which means I don’t scout for one club or hired by a club but I scout for multiple different teams so let’s say I’m scouting for Manchester United, West Ham and Salford City (just an example) if I see I player that I really good but not good enough for United I’ll send them to West Ham and Salford, if I see a player that will be world class I’ll invite him to Manchester United. I run my own scouting agency now where I give players opportunities to get trials. While also being a freelance scout for clubs in England and Scotland. My scouting company is doing amazing we’ve had boys go on to sign for Spurs, Manchester City, we had a boy called Liam who had trials with Real Madrid, benfica and Wolves
      Like anything doesn’t matter how young you are if you work hard and have a passion for what you do you can achieve it

      Gábor Karosi Analyse games

    • @shutupaleix
      @shutupaleix 6 років тому

      Tactical IQ/Soccer IQ is a general term for how people see plays on the field. It's sort of a term that describes how aware someone is in terms of the mechanics of the game: Seeing a run being made into space behind the defense; seeing a run being made in order to pull a defender out of position, allowing the attacker with the ball to slot into the newly created open space; seeing where passing lanes open up in order to pass the ball through those spaces. People develop this sort of 'soccer intuition' in a few ways: You can develop it through just playing the game a bit (at pick up games and such); you can watch soccer games on tv and notice how movement affects the game; you can play FIFA (i know it sounds silly, but I swear you can develop a sense of "soccer IQ" by playing video games as they are a simulation of an actual sport, and FIFA, more accurate than not, simulates movement on the field pretty darn well) and get a general feel of how the game mechanics work (from movement off the ball, to more "manager level" stuff like formations and such); you can also watch youtube videos on soccer tactics, soccer basics/fundamentals to improve the way you see movement on the field. I know I shouldn't promote other YT channels on someone's channel, but All Attack's tactics videos are an excellent source when it comes to explaining that stuff. Hope this helps ya out a bit. Have a good one!

    If your gona be a star in football 9 times out of 10 you get scouted early..... Obviously you get a few pros that get picked up in their 20s and/or teens but 10,000 hours training is unrealistic, just turn up, play your best and hope to god that the scout sees you. So always play to your full potential because 1 mistake in front of the scout could be the reason you don't get selected for the pro try outs, and then it's a whole different ball game lol.

    I believe its 10000 hours at each skill in the game. Dribbling, shooting, passing, tackling etc.

    I’m 16 and I want to become pro. I minimum have around 2000 hours of training maximum maybe 3500-4000. I’m pretty decent and play I’m a good club. I usually start games and my team will play in national level next season, but to be honest my skills aren’t very impressive. I feel as if time is running out for me. I love the game and I really want to make it pro. I thought if I trained 5 hours a day form 16-21 I would have my 10000 hours but idk if that’s realistic. Can someone help.

    10k rule is false, May build better skills but I don’t think it’s precisely correct that you will achieve mastery. Great video matt

      Elite Ballerz Nathan Paull Football is documenting his journey called the 10000 Hours Project and is testing this theory out. I think he's at 3600 hours at the moment too. Should check it out.

    What if a person put only like 2000 hours by the age of 16 and trains for 20 hours per week , everey week. Will it still be possible to become a pro?
    And if yes, then at what age?
