Brad, I have seen this video more times than I can recall. I return to it because your information is excellent. Thank you for keeping it online. I'd appreciate knowing the name of this Miltoniopsis; it is glorious!. I'm a great admirer of roses and having a Miltoniopsis with that fragrance would bring me a lot of happiness. Again, thank you very much!
The Milts are one of my very favorite orchids. I love the dependable display. They give so much pleasure for a relatively easy care plant. Wish I had more room for the large plants.
Brad, thank you for sharing your incredible knowledge about growing the Miltoniopsis orchid. I have ordered three to begin a small collection. Thanks again.
Thank you for posting this video. Your Miltoniopsis is lovely. Thank you for sharing easy to understand tips to growing and fostering blooms for this orchid. I'm confident my students will enjoy watching your tutorial to support their research into growing orchids. (February 20, 2016)
Hi Tosh, Very good point, I do keep a close eye on it and will repot early if the bark goes dark and soft. That is a good thing to remind every one of though! Brad
Hi Brad - that's an awesome Miltoniopsis you have there, I just picked up my first one the other day from Trader Joe's. I had it sitting on the dining room table but after watching your video I put it right out to the greenhouse where the humidity is high. Thanks for the knowledge ;}
gorgeous brad! my miltoniopsis is growing so many new bulbs right now! since Ifeb it's out out two spikes but they haven't developed into any blooms....I think I have to list more for humidity. as always your videos, orchids and greenhouse are a feast for the eyes! :)
Your miltoniposis looks absolutely gorgeous. Bravo, c'est une belle réussite. I don't want to sound like an ass, but carefull about letting it in the same pot two years. Because miltoniopsis wants its substrate always humid, it decomposes faster and it is advised to repot yearly. (Unlike phals and cattleyas that can wait two years.) I wish miltoniopsis was avaliable near where I live, but the only time I saw one was at the yearly orchid exposition.
It's beautiful Brad!! You did a great job of taking care of it, mine died : ( . But like the saying goes "If you don't succeed, try and try again" I'll get it some time sooner or later. Keep on bringing those fantastic videos, I appreciate them : )
Absolutely beautiful Brad! I wish you were around yrs ago when I had mine. At that time I was new yo orchids and killed the little guy. I'm considering on buying another one. The blooms remind me of gardening with my grandmother when I was a little boy.
Absolutely beautiful! I couldn't use your green thumb. I've had trial and error over the past years. So far the last two were great for me. My two phal are giving me baby's. :)
Hi Richard, you can post photos on Facebook, link is in the channel banner. I'm not sure that a Phal has a bloom season but I wouldn't worry about seperating it to soon anyway but just use a scalpel . It will need a good root system first.
Hi Brad, I bought a miltoniopsis Rouge Picardie today and it is beautiful. Yours is exceptional though, probably the fruit of a few years of development. Thanks for this interesting video. The challenge will be to maintain a 70% humidity, difficult to do here in Canada.
Wow those spikes are so generous, congratulations. The leaves are also very good-looking, it is enjoying the conditions you provide. My Miltoniopsis flowered, but each spike had one or two flower. Maby I was not giving it enough water. It's in full bark. Next repot I'll put some sphagnum moss on top as you recommand.
Excellent video, very informative. I apreciate very much any information I can put my hands on about those beauties, thank you and happy growing :-) xxx
Love this orchid! I just purchased a few of them, some Miltoniopsis, Miltonidium and Cyrtonipsis which I have tried to get information on, but can't find!
This milt is so beautiful! I just bought my very first today... Bert Fields 'Leah' but probably a misprint of 'Leash' since that's all i've seen on the net. Live in Colorado at 8000'. It is dry but will place above a good ultrasonic fogger.
My Miltonia is really pot bound with roots... is it best to leave them like that? or should i up the pot size a little? i think there are 3 or 4 plants in a 4 inch square plastic pot.
What a beautiful orchid! One thing you didn't mention is what to do when the blooms die, do I cut the spike at the base or just leave it alone? Thanks!
Hi Brad, congranulations on you succes, I have them for a year now, but the new shoots are wrinkely, and now I learnt I should increase humidity. Thanks for sharing this valuable experiance, Brad :) May I ask, do old bulbs produce new spikes; and do you remove the leaves that are disturbing new growth?
Love your channel. As a novice i am learning so much from you. I have a militinia that blooms but I am unsure about how much to fertilize. Blooms are small. Any suggestions?ThanksPaula
Thank you! I'm thinking they went in to shock or tried to spike on an off season?.. There's one thing I need to know. My larger phal keiki so close to the mother. How would I separate it? I can send you photos of the plants.
hi brad, I bought a miltoniopsis a few months back which was in bloom, the blooms died off but I haven't had any new growth. am I doing something wrong?
Hi Brad!! I live in Miami, FL I just recently purchased one of these beauties.. I currently have it in my home with air conditioning due to that it really gets hot outside 91F. It gets plenty of light but not directly. What tips can you give me?
Hello, Brad! Your miltoniopsis is stunning! I've noticed some brown spots on the leaves. My miltoniopsis has the same spots. I cut the leaves. Is it a kind of infection?
I purchased this miltoniopsis and it came with buds from California an I’m in Louisiana and have not repotted because had two beautiful spikes and they are blasting is that common because of the climate change from shipping or what? Help would u know?
just pick one up from the thrift store for $4! I went to check its root system and saw that it was rooted in soil! the roots look white and healthy but it still has buds so i cannot repot it! please tell me what to do.
Brad, I was finally able to get Miltoniopsis. I bought it from a super market lol. How and when shall I repot it up? The blooms already died off and I don't want to wait to long to repot it since I'm not sure how long it's been in it's pot.
Okay! I think I can use what I got from my local orchid grower. I'm sort what you use in your videos minus the moss. It's in a four inch tall pot with slits. What size should I use or put it in the same pot?
Hi Brad, you you keep you orchids inside the greenhouse all year long? In the summer is it hot in the greenhouse? What region are you from if you don't mind me asking. I plant to build a greenhouse to pit these guys inside. I have phalaenopsis, oncidium, cattleya, miltonia, denrobium, and vanda. Please let me know. Thanks
Hi Jimmy, yes I leave the orchids in the greenhouse all summer long. I living in zone 8B, Canada. I have cooling systems, and air-conditioner misting systems etc.
Thanks for responding to me Brad. I live in zone 8a in dallas texas usa. In the summer temperature get up to 100 degree. How is the temperature in Canada in the summer. Also, what is the temperature inside your greenhouse Brad? Which cooling system are you using. This is my new hobby. Just start.about 6 months ago. Sorry for all the question ☺ and thank you for any advice.
I purchased one of these in early June. It had spikes which just developed flowers three weeks ago. I was very excited. However, one by one each flower went limp and fell off. I'm devastated. It was in a cool (76F) window with filtered light and I watered it with distilled water when dry. Any ideas?
Nita Haas hope it's not too late, but Miltoniopsis should never dry out they should be kept constantly moist! The cool window with low light conditions sounds right.
Why does mine grow brown on the top leaves.it looks like wet but it isn't at all.I cut it off and spray with physan and it comes back.what is it..driving me insane.anymore cutting and my leaf is going to be really short.
I just made It... for you guys... at your request. Gotta keep the Orchid peeps happy!
I never get tired of watching this video, I just luv your Miltoniopsis in this video ;)

one question though, acordeon shped leaves mean low humidity? not underwatering?
I absolutely loved that you were holding the plant the whole time! So nice video..and orchid!
The Milts are one of my very favorite orchids. I love the dependable display. They give so much pleasure for a relatively easy care plant. Wish I had more room for the large plants.
Thank for this down to earth video explaining the care for this type. I have just bought my first one after moving on from Phalaenopsis.
Brad, thank you for sharing your incredible knowledge about growing the Miltoniopsis orchid. I have ordered three to begin a small collection. Thanks again.
Thanks ecbacani, and thank you for watching.
Thanks Juliana, glad you enjoy, more to come. :)

I like watching your videos, and this orchid had never seen the is so strange , is a hybrid ? , Greetings Brad .
could be either, lack of H20 in general.
So many flowers ! :)
Love your channel. As a novice i am learning so much from you. I have a militinia that blooms but I am unsure about how much to fertilize. Blooms are small. Any suggestions?ThanksPaula

beautiful plant!
Thank you!
Nice
A Trader Joe's near me has a Milt. Bert Field 'Eileen'. I'm sorry to hear they don't do as well in the house.
Very helpful. Thank you x
Just head to my main channel page, in my colourful banner that Says Brads Greenhouse there is a link to my Facebook page:)
how much time does it take to notice if im giving my orchid too much or too little light?
hi brad, I bought a miltoniopsis a few months back which was in bloom, the blooms died off but I haven't had any new growth. am I doing something wrong?
i have a odontonia, is it the same growing condition? my is growing so very slowly that i am thinking i am not providing all it needs, thx
I know this is an older video, but any chance you know why a miltoniopsis won’t open its blooms? Or won’t expand all the way?
GORGEOUS
beautiful plant
Susan's prairie orchids thank you Susan
Hi Brad!! I live in Miami, FL
I just recently purchased one of these beauties..
I currently have it in my home with air conditioning due to that it really gets hot outside 91F. It gets plenty of light but not directly. What tips can you give me?
Mine is not doing too well. The leafed are turning yellow with black spots 😱 do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hello, Brad! Your miltoniopsis is stunning! I've noticed some brown spots on the leaves. My miltoniopsis has the same spots. I cut the leaves. Is it a kind of infection?
Hey Brad! Why are your flowers not fully open when in bloom ? I have the same problem !
fantastic
I have the same miltoniopsis, but a little bit more purple.
David Reeves Nice!
Hi Brad I'm not sure how to link the two together.
Can you grow these Hydro style? Maybe a dwc?
I purchased this miltoniopsis and it came with buds from California an I’m in Louisiana and have not repotted because had two beautiful spikes and they are blasting is that common because of the climate change from shipping or what? Help would u know?
I don’t understand the idea of “deep apple green”. Green apples are a very light colour???
Gorgeous, Brad. Fertilizer???
🌺
do you have a problem with algae in the mix?
just pick one up from the thrift store for $4!
I would pot it up like an Oncidium but add extra moss to your mix. They don't like to dry out.
Okay! I think I can use what I got from my local orchid grower. I'm sort what you use in your videos minus the moss. It's in a four inch tall pot with slits. What size should I use or put it in the same pot?
Probably use the same pot if it fits. If you have or can find some extra sphagnum moss, i'd chop some up and put in the mix as well.
Okay thanks! When I repot it I'll have to see what size it will fits in.

What fertilizer?
Can't help you with that last one, are you sure the tag is correct? Send me a photo on my Facebook page. Photo of the bloom would help to.
What size of pot is your Miltoniopopsis in?
Why does mine grow brown on the top leaves.it looks like wet but it isn't at all.I cut it off and spray with physan and it comes back.what is it..driving me insane.anymore cutting and my leaf is going to be really short.
I was told that this flower shape was a miltonia orchid, not miltoniopsis. how can Itell the difference?
What is the name of this Miltoniopsis?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😫
por favor q los vídeos se traduzcan al español. Porque los q no sabemos inglés que???
re-pot, they hate old media, it will do it good.
Ça donne quoi en français?
Algues me traduz isso em portugues ?
I meant "mist" not "list" ...
