- This video demonstrates how to perform a Kaplan-Meier procedure (survival analysis) in SPSS. The Kaplan-Meier estimates the probability of an event occurring at specified points in time and can compare survival distributions.
Todd, after viewing this video as was able to ace the final quiz in my grad school class, Statistic for Research. Thanks for posting this video on survival analysis. I found two factors helpful. One, you spoke at a modest pace, which made it easy for me to learn. Two, you explained the meaning of each part of the SPSS output. I hope others find the video helpful.
The explanation so clear and I can understand it.
Thanks Dr Grande for the short piece.
Thank you so much for your best explanation🙏🙏🙏
Hi, thank you for video 😊
Thank you so much for this clear video on survival analysis
You're welcome!
Excellent work. Many thanks
You're welcome!
Thank you so much Todd. This was very helpful.
I want to ask. I used this formula ((MST of treated group-MST control group) / control group)) x 100
do i need to do this analysis?
How did SPSS know to associate your entry of "1" with "not abstinent" instead of "abstinent" for the Status? Like how did it know "not abstinent" is the event?
Ravishing
Succinct and on point! Thank you very much :)
You're welcome!
Thanks, very precise and clear
How do you calculate the follow up time in Overall survival or in progression free survival? What is the actual formula o the value I have to look up? Please help!
Sir, can you explain Cox regression model?
Great video, thank you.
Hello!! I´m trying to complete a Kaplan Meier procedure, but the mean and median table doesnt appears and also t the software give me those messagues: No statistics have been calculated because all the cases have been censored. No POOLED comparison has been made because, as a minimum, one stratum does not have valid cases for each factor level. But I got the resume table and the survival graphics!! I hope you can helpme
You the best
what if the two graph cross/touch each other at some point???
Does anyone know how to in SPSS truncate the survival curves so that less than 10% of the cohorts remains with statistical analysis at this time interval?
Todd, If I am working on a survival analysis for people with HIV, the variable time would mean time before they die? what if there is no treatment done? Are the 3 variables necessary to perform survival analysis? Thank you.
Todd, congratulations on the video.
What I am missing are the error bars. SPSS gives us the Std. deviation in the tabel, but how do I get this in my plot?
Thank you for your help.
If there were drop out cases (Censored); what status that might have in this study?
hello i am getting extra censor curves in plot.... why so ...plz reply....its urgent
would u mind to share the dataset?
Hi, I´m trying to complete a Kaplan Meier procedure, and it gives me the plots, but in the mean and median table, the "median" doesn´t appear (though the mean appears!) I have tried a lot of changes in the variable "time" and cannot get the median values. Do you know any cause of this?
Hello Catalina!! Did you find the way how to get the table of median values?? it also happen to me, if you got it please tell me how you did it!!!
I forgot mention that the software give me those messagues: No statistics have been calculated because all the cases have been censored. No POOLED comparison has been made because, as a minimum, one stratum does not have valid cases for each factor level. But I got the resume table and the survival graphics!! I hope you can helpme :*
Do you have the whole dataset?
How to do progression free survival
