The animation of Marin's little gestures is really wonderful. These little expressions emphasize her cuteness and her emotional swings even more.
her off-the-cuff expressions and emotions really make her character shine. She's already amazing but that just adds that extra. She's my favorite ever since Chisato in Lycoris.

According to the voice actors of Lycoris Recoil, they took the trouble to redraw to accommodate the voice actors acting or ad-libbing of little gestures, which is surprising.

I love seeing how much more comfortable Gojo gets throughout the series. In episode 3 when Marin offers him a bite of food he freaks out but in this episode he casually takes a bite of her burger. It’s a small thing but super cute
Did you notice that Marin didn't fell for Wakana because he did so much for her, like the typical trope "Guy just has to do enough for the girl for her fall in love."?
She fell for him because he saw and accepted her for who she was, not as superficial as the guy in the fashback in the beginning. he took the time to know her, wich she acknowledges in EP3. Sure he worked his ass off for her first cosplay but that wasn't when she fell for him. It was when she felt seen by him. This anime handles romantic tropes a bit more mature and a bit less stereotypical. That's why it feels right.
The scene on the coast is an accumulation of many things that were being forged and shown to us in the previous 8 episodes (I add the talk with Sajuna in the abandoned hospital).
The beach scene is so brutally strong, and hit me hard... it is literally the second time when Gojo has opened up with Marin (the first is when he talks about the Hina Dolls with Marin in his room, after the misunderstanding of Shizuku's first cosplay), Gojo discovers things so common and normal for the rest of the people, but for him every moment is literally a new world; the sand, the salt water, the seaweed, but the impact of saying that he did not know any of that and still does not know many other things is so sad; He is openly honest with Marin about his past and at the same time, Marin is openly honest with herself, daring to invite him to go to many other places, their two worlds collide, but there is no collapse, but rather a trust and affection is created, stronger (in this case more by Marin for Gojo). That bubble that Gojo created with the dolls, his grandfather and no friends, Marin is breaking it little by little without realizing it, she does it by being herself, with her proactivity that Gojo mentions so much, and that is what is naturally beautiful. Marin, just like after school when Gojo avoided her, she brings him out of the shadows, with her smile and energy.

The "abandoned hospital" studio is based on a real place. In Japan, it's hard to sell a disused hospital to repurpose it - or even to tear it down and rebuild - because of the vibes, so this guy bought one cheap, made sure the structure was good, and rents it out. Maybe the term 'set' is better than 'studio'? It's for things like horror movies, music videos, magazine photoshoots, or, obviously, indie shoots like cosplayers.
We already knew that Gojo didn't see or do a lot of things as a kid, but it hit way harder this episode just how empty his life was. No matter where you are in Japan, the beach is not far away. There was really nothing but School, Dolls, Dinner, Sleep. Everyday until he met her.
it's some how sad how gojo isn't aware that Marin is into him, he never had friends so he think that what normal friends do ,he's too pure too good for this world
There's also a self-esteem issue with him. He simply doesn't think Marin could be interested in him as more than a friend.
I dunno, it's kinda sweet how much he appreciates spending time with Marin without thinking about that stuff. Awkward/horny Gojo would have spoiled the moment, it's their friendship that makes the series work so well, for me.

I wouldn't go that far. Marin is way more matured in that regard and she doesn't want to push her feelings onto him. She knows she's in love but she doesn't know if Gojo is, so she just vibes with him for now. Nothing she does is out of the ordinary of a friendship. She's always been easy giong so no wonder he doesn't pick it up. We know because we can read/hear their thoughts.
This is one of three anime that has recently come out that really took the rom-com genre by storm. The other two are "Don't Toy With Me, Nagatoro" and "The Dangers In My Heart." You could also throw Kimi Ni Todoke into that group, but that show is more romance driven with a little comedy in it. If you are enjoying this show, then I would heavily recommend all the shows I have mentioned in this post.
The thing this show does very well is the realism and chemistry of characters. It doesn't feel as cartoony or sitcom where its a slow build and makes sense why they like each other. I feel like a staple of romcom is quick passion and fall in love and be over. But this feels great that actual learn, have dates and spend what feels like real time together.

This show just makes me feel warm and fuzzy every time and it's even better watching others like yourselves seeing it.

I love the metaphorical shot of him taking that step from solid ground into the sea, embracing the newness and chaos with Marin. The creators/animators of this show are OP, it scares me how much they control my serotonin.

I'd love to see a season 2 update sometime this year and if we're lucky we'll get to see it in 2025. It's going on 2 years now since they announce it.
I get emotional with this episode as well. For me it's during Juju's recounting of how she got into cosplay. The fact that she could never truly get her one true dream, only for that dream to manifest itself in a slightly different way is so emotionally resonant. It's also why doing anything creative, like Cosplay, is so important in peoples lives.
