I didn’t know you could change the battery. I thought it was disposable after the battery ran out. Thank you for the informational video!

Thank you so much Jimmy. I really enjoy the toothbrush. When the battery died I couldn't change it. Went to reviews. There were a lot of complaints. I almost threw the toothbrush away and then I decided to come here. You are so helpful. Thank you!!!

I've broken a dozen of these trying to get the battery out without realising the entire assembly comes out with it. Thanks a lot!!

Thanks Jack! Glad it was helpful. FYI a few months back I showed the video to my dentist. He was in awe, no 3 month advice. Don't forget to dispose of the old battery properly too!

Thank you! This helped a lot. I thought I broke it when I was doing it myself. I had to really yank out the assembly! I started out not doing this and just taking the battery out. It's not possible to put back together since I couldn't bend the metal to make contact. I followed your video and my toothbrush works like new again.

This worked for me . I've been trying to change a battery for an Oral-B Pulsar toothbrush
for a number of years but it never worked out and ended up buying a new one every time .
Such a simple method to all the other ones I had previously come across on UA-cam. Thanks Jimmy, you've extended the life of my toothbrush and did your bit to help save the planet!

Jimmy C, you're a fixer after my own heart... I like the simplicity of your video and fix.... Most importantly, it really works".. Now I just have to convince my wife that our dentist's recommendation to change
toothbrushes every couple of months is nonsense and bad for the planet and our pocketbook

Yes Jimmy! My dentist loves me since I’ve been using this toothbrush, and my only gripe was the throwaway nature of the product. My previous (non electric) brush lasted 10 years, but this is better. Thanks for posting.

Thanks!! This is my favorite kind of toothbrush. I usually throw it out every three or 4 months or so because the bristle wears down. Knowing this is a good option to keep it a little longer if the battery wears down sooner which I have experienced that before.

  • @loisthomas7408

Always wondered if you could do this, handle looks like it will separate but I could never get it apart. Well after seeing this I just gave the twist more force to unscrew the bottom and got it apart. Interestingly the battery in it (never replaced) had the positive end down not the negative end like you stated. So I put the new battery in the same way as the original one an brush would not work. Then I put it in negative end down and it works great. Can't figure that one out.

Oral B must have gotten wise to this b/c when I tried this I broke a wire and still never released the battery fixture. Once I did get it out I soldered the wire and it works fine, but just beware that wire is stretched across where the screwdriver enters and it doesn't have much slack in it.
Thanks for this! I hated the idea of throwing this thing out -- I have a rechargeable unit but it's much noisier and heavier than this brush.

Probably best to avoid grabbing the battery itself as it takes a fair amount of force to pull the carriage out. I was able to use needle nose pliers to grab just the sled the battery sits in. It's even easier if you bend the battery tab back, remove the battery, then use pliers to remove the carriage. If you bend the battery tab, just use pliers to bend it back before putting the carriage back in.

    • @tylermoore1105
      @tylermoore1105 26 днів тому

This is what I did. Mostly by chance. I had removed the battery thinking the carriage didn't need to also come out. So I wrapped thick tape around the carriage and yanked HARD. Heard something pop but I think mine was glued in and it works great again.

That white piece, I think it might be styrofoam, came off when I took the toothbrush apart and I didn't realize it was important so I didn't keep track of it. Is it essential to the working of the toothbrush? I tried taking apart before I watched your video so I didn't do it your way and now it doesn't seem to work even with a fresh battery.
