Thanks for the recent video uploads, great information source and diagnostics. I'm glad I don't have this high security stuff on my older VWs, although I do have it on my motorcycle. I thought the owner was going to go for disabling and deleting the immobilizer, I'm glad you recorded the process of diagnosing and repairing the fault. I'd like to find a way of deleting the immobilizer from my motorcycle, it already had a problem once under warranty. It was a costly repair and now it is out of warranty, I don't want to spend the money to fix it the next time it breaks. Chances of it stopping someone from stealing it seem slim.
Great info! Just had to do this, when the lock housing tab broke , that turns the switch. The lock housing is held by 2 security bolts. The Bentley manual says to cut or shear the bolts of with a sharp chisel! Swinging a hammer and chiseling around all this delicate electronic stuff. What were they thinking?
. Question.. i bought a 99 jetta at auction.. didnt come with keys, and steering is locked so i cant get to screws are are behind the horn/airbag. Would i be able to get the lock cylinder out without taking the plastic housing ?
Excellent video as usual! I really look forward to your videos (non-VW vids too!) I will bookmark this one for future reference!
thanks for the support of my channel! some other cool stuff coming up!

Most people replace them with standard bolts. Dont tell the advanced thieves that swap out the lock cylinder in order to steal the cars.
