    Quality over quantity! I see a lot people doing planks for long periods and their back begins to sag. This is normal as you get tired. Focus on your form and by mastering that, you will master the position. Great video!

    Lifting a foot or arm off the mat while doing planks (or pushups) is just asking to create some sort of muscle/joint/tendon/ligament strain. When you do that, not only do you immediately double load on the arm or leg that is still on the mat, you also create other transverse stresses that could lead to strains. And this is definitely not a good idea for anyone who has just begun to do these exercises. First build up those muscles and tendons before you try to do anything fancy. But if you really feel that you need to do this, I suggest that you first start with just partially lifting an arm or leg while noting all of the body areas that are then getting extra stress. Do that for weeks or months before you finally graduate to fully lifting them off the mat.

      100% agree, this is not a beginner move. Thanks for adding your feedback 💕

  • @อัครัตน์จารุมณี

    Very good tip. I will start to do beginner plank to strengthen my core muscles and then followed by more intermediate levels when my body gets stronger.

    Are planks OK to do if you have lower back problems? I have periformous syndrome, entrapped siatic nerve, and bulging disks making some exercises horribly painful

      I would ask your doctor in this case. Definitely not a full plank to start with. Maybe a wall plank or bridge would be better, but again -- talk to your doctor for personalized advice. Be sure to also let me know what they say, we can all learn from your experience

    An important subject, but in this video treated with a disordered mess of facts and faults. Utterly few pieces of decent advice but lavishly filled with direct wrong advice. A flood of texts and pics far from the basic meaning with Planks - a training for building stronger abs! /EU Youth Trainer/

      I don't doubt I can get things wrong because I'm a human being and definitely not perfect. Please let me know what direct wrong advice I offered, so I can try and correct it!! Thanks for the heads-up! 💪

      @@Fitnessdy - Honest answer, showing you´re a balanced person! I do not have time to, and I can not here or understand all what you say or show, but my main crciticism is that that your video does not clearly and simple make clear, that Planks is purely an abs training exercise, not i mixture of a mass of physical movements. A lot of what seems to be advice from you is clearly breaking again the 3 simple, all.important rules for Plank: a) Down with your head! .... b) Up with youir butt! ... c) Hold your body absolute still without any moves to sides or upwards or downwords! - This simple message is drowned in your ocean of text, pics and talking.

    • @brianb532
      @brianb532 Місяць тому

      I disagree. I've been in high level fitness competition for years. I had some of the best modern trainers and this video is on par with what they teach for maximum core training. Fitness is always evolving. The plank itself didn't even exist in the 70s. Don't correct someone unless you have serious facts to back yourself up. Yes these are advanced moves but they are correctly done and explained properly.

    • @BoGunnarHansson-re8gv
      @BoGunnarHansson-re8gv Місяць тому

      @@brianb532 - You´re obviously younger than me not up to date, as far as Plank is concerned.. And that was my only subject, nothing about core training in general, which you´re dealing with.

      Some we people have to learn how to shut up and appreciate peoples efforts. I mean why always try to show off is disrespectful
