I put the grip on one side and leave the other side loose so I can move the tape around or take it off again and retry till I have It just like I like it.. as long as you always keep one side loose eventually you'll get it and don't have to worry about messing up and it gets easier the more you do it... I used to have my brother do it cuz I was intimidated by the 4 packs but I found as long as you have one side where you can see the bolts straight through the holes in the griptape you're on the right track

You can get one at target or Walmart but they go out of stock quickly especially around the holiday time, you can buy a single one for $3 or a 4 pack for $10 not all Walmart’s or targets sell them though
