Garden Answer. The best gardening UA-camr you should watch.
Learn from Laura. Every gardener has to start somewhere.
Ditto! Laura is my afternoon coffee ☕️ video
I watch her everyday! I’ve learned so much from her!
Yup! GA is great & Laura, Aaron, & the kiddos are wonderful.
Thanks. I will check her out.
Those impatiens are LEGGY! You can cut them back by 1/3 to get a fuller plant. They're my favorite!
Yes - cu them back, and then you can trim the take off parts for cuttings you can plant. They grow very easily in shady spots.
Oh my gosh I was thinking the same thing!
Be sure to add some slow release fertilizer also!
Make sure you cut them back at a node.
Yes & in that climate it should bush out thick if it's trimmed back. The ones in the Sun will die.😢 They like the north side of a house. Full shade ❤
Tip: after transplanting, cut the leggy stems and the plant will fill out much prettier. Keep the impatients cut back to get a fuller look.
I was thinking that too, when I saw them. Good advice
Mcenna, one plant isn't enough for those planters i would have put three. And yes pinch the plants back and they will bush out
@@missannetteslittlefarminth9069 Hi miss Annette, love your videos
All of the above information is good advice. Once you pinch then back, they will really bush out and get huge! I do this all the time. One plant can get large.
@@marshafranklin
You could easily plant 2 of the plants in one pot, spacy enough.
And a tip for your future windos boxes: buy a plastic one, and build a wood box/frame around. So the wood doesn't rot or get wet from watering. It looks like a wooden window box but the inside is layered.
Your eyes while wearing that blue dress are spectacular!!💙🩵💙👀
MaCenna really pops in spring colours like pastels rather than neutrals, she looks even more stunning than usual in that baby blue/French blue dress (same as when she wears that yellow top she owns). 😍
I LOVE the yellow on her as well!!!!!
Your garden is a spring dream. The seclusion of your beautiful home makes your garden, front and back look so whimsical. What an amazing property! Literally spit my drink when you said Kinsley gets into "scandalous stuff!" Congrats on passing your glucose test and your niece going into ASU FIDM!!
awww thank you hahahah and she really does shes so scandalous lol
You should watch Laura at Garden Answer. She’ll show you how to really fell up your pots to get the best out of your plants.
Have you guys started researching how you will be making the pool child safe?I know that will be a top priority for you guys.
There was a moment when you were lying on the grass painting on ur notebook n Kinsley around you.. Let your mom paint that moment Macenna ❤❤❤❤
Plz ❤
Sarah, love from Tunisia 🇹🇳
I agree a beautiful painting of her daughter carrying her 1st grandchild. Would be so BEAUTIFUL 😍
@lauratruthseekingWarrior
Not the first grandchild..
Pinching the impatient back will make it less leggy
Just a suggestion, but that open space in your garden bed would look amazing with some echinacia (spelling) flowers there. They come in many beautiful colors and bloom summer to fall, longer in your climate i am sure. And look amazing in a cottage type garden. They love full sun, and heat, and once established are very drought tolerant. Come back every year, and iff get too full, you can divide them and move them around. They attract butterflies, and make great cut flowers too. For a bold pop of yellow, you can mix in some black eyed susans too.
I love them, too! It's echinacea and also called coneflower.
You can plant 2-3 plants in those pots. Inpatients like more shade than sun. Cut them back and they will fill in. Love your house.
The cardigan matching your gardening gloves is such a vibe!
Wow!! That color is sooo great on you really brings out your eye color and soo soft it really becomes you
I live in southern Nevada and have a Maltese. I deal with coyotes all the time. Just know they can easily jump that fence. They can jump over 6’ fences with ease. They don’t make a noise if you encounter them. Don’t let your dog out Ali e at any time. Day or night. There is a coyote vest you can get for dogs you might look into that. If you see one tell and throw things they won’t take you on. I carry a party horn and a silent whistle .
She never lets her out by herself
Yes she does. She's checked on him barking outside in her videos.@@moda78z
Agreed. I live in Phoenix. Please be careful with Kingsley. My 12 lb. terrier was attacked by a coyote in my yard 10 feet from me! Coyote easily jumped the 6ft wall. They’re quiet, fast, agile and vicious. I was lucky - I charged the coyote and he dropped my fur baby, but we ended up at the vet ER with a $1,500 bill. Obvi I don’t know the configuration of your yard and it’s smart to keep Kingsley from the “secret garden,” BUT always keep him near you and attended. After the attack, my Charlie was never more than 3 ft from me in our own yard. ❤️🐶
Acolyte ate my cats body and left hs head only and I stepped on it!!!! Accidentally 😮😢
Ps that was in Pasadena calif.😮
Watching you gut & build a house, to now gardening with your growing belly is just crazy. Like, what an adventure as your viewer, let alone you living it! Thank you for sharing it. It's been an inspiring & heartwarming ride. ❤
Just came here to say you need an espalier on that blank wall outside with some creeping jasmine, or ivy, or whatever! It's French and perfect for your home now. You could also totally DIY it!
You could even transplant some of your existing ivy and voila !
This baby is going to have the BEST parents and the prettiest house to grow up in ❤️❤️❤️
I agree
Yhat house and that backyard are a dream land!!!
FYI... impatients are pretty much a shade flower. They won't do too well in the sun. Also, if you cut them back they will bush out and produce more blooms.....almost immediately. 😊
Dear MaCenna, Please go back in this vlog and take a still of yourself at the 17:59 marker. I think you look so perfectly at home in your garden. Definitely a precious moment. Hugs💞
Your home is as beautiful as you.
In England we call the flower containers either window boxs, window planters or depending on how big they are window troughs
awww thank you so much!
Congrats on passing your glucose test and your full circle moment with your niece - so beautiful! ✨
Baby boy going to be so cute playing in the yard 💙
OMG I KNOW i was thinking about that while i was gardening :)
@@xomacennavlogsI can just imagine Romeo taking baby boy out to pick a fresh bouquet for mommy 🥹
IN THE DIRT.. 😅
Romeo is so helpful.
He loves you so much Macenna.
Your both going to be great parents. ❤
I love the peaceful garden moment music with the construction noise in the background. Couldn’t help but laugh. Not cause it’s bad just because of the juxtaposition 😂
Cute Kingsley, sneaky and being scandalous, she’s quite the character 😂. You meeting your nieces as you were attending college and now fast forward to you in your third trimester…nearing to give birth and your niece preparing to attend the same college…sweet!
The light blue dress.. love that color blue on you, your eyes are the same color & they just sparkle😊 My mom always planted inpatients, if i remember correctly they are more of a early morning sun, then shade plant. Love watching you & Romeo working together, he's just been so attentive and its just beautiful! Excited to see how the kitchen is looking with the wall down!
Im moving in 2 months and your style has inspired me so much. My only child is now 13 so there wont be kids toys everywhere. I get to have pretty things!
Seeing flowers blooming is a nice distraction from the blizzard outside my window 😅 your backyard is a dream!
I was pregnant in 3rd trimester in the spring. I love gardening and I remember how hard it was to bend over to plant flowers! Lol. All worth it!
"Window box" is what those planters are called. At least that's what I've always called them. MaCenna, you definitely have the pregnancy glow. I didn't think you could get any more beautiful until you got pregnant. ❤
I would have them add the electrical to the our door spaces while you have them. The solar light is gorgeous and can be used in a different area but while you have everything opened up I would get it to be what you want instead of regretting it later.
Love your light hair and eyebrows. You look so much younger. You're just glowing and gorgeous little Momma.❤❤❤
She is stunning really. Beautiful features, smile, and hair!! Lucky.
Your eyes in the blue sweater car scene- goodness girl, gorgeous! Also, I can't believe those lantern lights are solar, they look so good!!
If you give those Impatients a good trim, they will get thicker and more beautiful! They love a good haircut periodically! Can’t wait to see how that kitchen is progressing. How exciting it must be for you.
I love the noise…it means things are getting done! So excited for you and Romeo (and Kinsley) Happy Spring!🪺
In eastern NC, impatiens are sun hating annual plants. They do not survive the winter and by end of season they are leggy and tired looking. We replace every year in late spring…..window box.
Hey. I’m in Eastern NC too. I was wondering if she would have had better luck if she had put 2 of the plants in each pot. Will they now have too much room now compared to what they’re used to? I’m not sure since we do always have to replace ours. 🤷🏻♀️
When we hear the old saying that women "glow" when pregnant they must have had a vision of you. You look gorgeous. You and Romeo r going to make the best mommy and daddy ever.
Trim them all back. They get leggy in the spring. New growth will be fuller.
Love it when you guys work together…hey, Romeo!
Your garden is beautiful!’and you look beautiful to!! Glowing with health and vitality. So happy u passed your test!!
My dear, you should have broken those Inpatients way back and put at least 3 in each pot. They would come back all bushy and beautiful. They were way to tall and scraggly! A flower lady taught me the more pinching back the more flowers you have.
Cut inpatients back half way. Will make a large full plant. Love them.
Impatient love shade and you need to crowd in the pots. Need lots of water too.
No other UA-camr pulls such ANTICIPATION out of me Lol🥰
awww hahhahahah :)
You’re looking so beautiful Macenna. pregnancy suits you 💙
Impatients look really good when they are packed in a pot…you could easily have put 4 plants in one pot, then they really fill out and look pretty.
Impatiens grow really well and you clip them back to suit .
You two are so perfect for each other. I’m excited for you guys.
As far as sweet little Kinsley I would never leave her in the back yard alone. Coyote can climb over anything.
I did gardening through my third trimester until about 8 months. It was so peaceful. If you continue to be active, I highly suggest getting a maternity belt (pregnancy support belt). I wore one for my second pregnancy and it made a huge difference! It can help with round ligament pain too.
As a agoraphobic you have no idea how you brighten up my day. You look lovely ❤
❤
There’s nothing quite as sweet as a pregnant woman in a flowing white dress watering her fairytale garden!! 😊
You need to pinch off the top ( yes the flower) of your plants. They will then start to grow from the bottom and not look like sticks with a flower on top. Also you should pick up some miracle grow from the store and feed them according to the directions. Your flowers will fill out and grow more flowers. Good luck!!
MaCenna, you are absolutely adorable pregnant!! I can't tell you how happy I get when I get to see your videos!! :)
Just an FYI about your Impatiens. When they get very "leggy" like some of your window box ones are, you can trim them back to a lower junction on the stem. It will take them a while but they will put out new growth and bloom again. This helps keep them fuller over time. Your mild climate out in California should be perfect for them to do this with. Can't wait to see the kitchen!
Pool alarm/ fence in the works?
This popped up as I was weeding the front bed- thanks for doing yard work with me ☺️
I love the sound of construction.⚒️😀
Happy first day of spring.🌺 We are in the middle of a snow storm here in Ontario, Canada.🇨🇦😂
me toooooo its giving me life!!!
Pregnant MaCennna doing garden work somehow is the most precious thing. Oh. Imagining the time you will spend in the garden with your little one.
Arizona State University is a wonderful college. I am an Arizonian, and my husband got his degree there. Both sons and our daughter got their degrees from ASU. Our oldest son moved to Seattle and got his masters degree from Washington. Sweet blessings McCenna 🙌 ❤❤❤❤
ASU Go Sun Devils
Hello, when you plant pots you should have a thriller, a spiller and a filler. You need more plants in those pots. Cut back those flowers so they won’t be so leggy.
Your home and yard are so lovely. You are a blessed woman.
I think I would have put more than 1 plant in the pots, you can give it a nice full look :) I love how Romeo was right beside you, helping with things around the house! From the sound of it, the crew is making nice progress on the house already! Can't wait to see the reveal and then the sweet babe!
✨✨Your Eyes!!✨✨The most incredible “”BLUE”” match your blue top or dress it’s amazing!‼️✨✨✨💕💕💕
That baby bump is adorable ❤️❤️
Here for the garden content! Absolutely love all the landscaping around your home. (Those planters are called window boxes typically). ❤
Your dress and blue sweater with you in the garden is just beautiful. ❤
Happy spring Macenna, there's a beautiful cottage garden vibe going on there and you look fantastic wearing that lovely floaty dress. It won't be long before you're relaxing on your lawn surrounded by the scent of roses with a baby in arms. A nice soft rug, beautiful cushions and a picnic lunch. Magical times are ahead.
I have a fashion degree too (from France though) but the rooms took me back so much! It’s just as I remember my college 😍😍😍
5:11 That’s exactly how I feel watching your videos!! You’re very motivating. I’ve now implemented a habit where I must do at least 1 productive thing a day. 😊
If you trim/prune leggy impatiens plants, they get bushier and produce more flowers, especially if you feed them a bit. 🌸🌸🌸 Enjoy your garden! It's beautiful.
Window box is what I call them 😊
I love those lights!! The dim light is perfect for a night swim. You have such a dreamy yard! And RENOVATION NOISE!! I can totally relate, I make the mistake of trying to write our blog from our flip house, not only was it SO NOISY, my computer is covered in site dust!! Best of luck with your reno!!
That was unbelievably satisfying to see you checking small tasks off your list 😍 makes me motivated to do mine too
Your bundle of joy coming is gonna be the luckiest boy in the world,,,❤❤❤
Is the “C” necklace a hint of the baby name?
I'm so proud of your glucose levels, I've been praying you'll be fine. Romeo has been a handyman around the house, some of your wonderful talent has rubbed off on him, we'll be also seen the little man walking after y'all with a little hammer, it'll be so nice to watch that content. God bless!
You are such an inspiration and a joy to watch. You could be in the middle of a dump and make it enjoyable!!!
Your eyes are so blue with that dress on!! Just beautiful!
Cut your impatiens back to the first set of leavesmacenna and they will double up during spring and give you lots of new growth and blooms xxxx
I love how now you are pregnant Romeo is learning new skills…. lol ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You made me laugh so hard when you said you just want so badly to pick up a crowbar…..😂
See your garden skills in action , giving me inspiration to get my hands dirty and grow things
Nice garden, congrats to your niece. Plant some seeds of herbs that Romeo uses for cooking in that planter. It is nice to gather fresh herbs from your own garden. I have thyme, green onions, sage, rosemary and basil in mine.
I’m enjoying your puttering & checking off those little jobs. Thank you for sharing with us.
BTW- I’d you cut those stringy impatients back to an our 4” they will come back thicker and more bushy. You can even take some of the cut stems & stick them down into the dirt & they will grow. Remember to fertilize every couple months.
A mini herb garden for your box planter? With lots of sun.
Pinch the inpatients back and put cuttings in the soil. I do it and have lush plants in weeks.
Blue is your color!!❤
Baby boy “C”? You’re glowing!!! Love love your videos always ❤️
Would really recommend getting a drip irrigation system set up to save time and water. My mum got an internet connected one that feeds from a normal hose connection point
Your eyes and this dress are perfection!! ❤❤
Ps....Impatiens (known as Busy Lizzies) are mostly annual summer plants. I think the New Guinea variety may last two years. Always pop the seed pods so they will keep flowering. You just touch them and they pop 🌺🌺🌺
I would cut back every transplant and they will grow fuller and not so long & drooping. Cutting transplants back in early spring is the best time to do it because the roots will grow deeper and stronger while they are adjusting to a new location. The plant will thrive because it’s only putting energy into the roots and not the foliage & flowers 🌺 give them some fertilizer in a week or two 👍
You are so adorable in your little white dress and blue sweater in your garden.
Seeing your flowers makes me want to move where there is NO snow. I’m definitely want to be a snowbird once hubby retires. Travel to warmer areas.
Your spring is like my summer. 🌷Jealous. 😃
You can get more transplanted flowers in those pots! Don't be afraid!
I found the most beautiful white iron wall mount pot holders that I switched out the old wooden window planter boxes for. They hold between 3 & 4 pots depending on the length. I will never go back to wooden window planter boxes again!
Cut those impatiens way back to get them to grow fuller and get more flowers. Add some all purpose balanced fertilizer like “Jacks” as well.
You did a great job. I cannot wait to see all the work they have completed. So excited for both of you to be parents.
