Listening to him and hearing him, I understand having to "numb" the brain from a person who actively seeks to brawl.
He was drug addict when she met him!!
Being "numb" is a defence mechanism, i have ptsd and it is common for someone who has been abused, especially if you suffered childhood abuse.

Did you not hear Johnny state in his testimony that he 'realized I married my mother'? Until we realize that we are gravitating towards partners who emulate our opposite gender parent for a lifelong partner, and realize that that parent was not a good role model in our lives, so deliberately seek someone who doesn't fit that model in our relationship, we're going to continue to do that. It took me 55 years to realize that, and to make the changes in ME to find someone who doesn't use or abuse me but accepts me as I am, doesn't try to change me. Amber Heard is nowhere near that point (and likely never will, being the psychopath she is), and Johnny is just finally getting to that point, I believe. You can't change ANYONE except yourself. Amber Heard was trying to control Johnny. Period.

For an addict to talk so openly and calmly about such lows in his life, gives Johnny Depp an extra-ordinary heroic appeal, much more than normal actors or sport-stars or musicians. He is the most honest human-being. Articulate to a fault. Trustworthy, open to the human condition we know as addiction. Amazing person.

I’m absolutely blown away with how calmly and so accurately he described what opiates do to the patient. It’s all so true, they take over. I’m going to write it out word for word what Johnny said and hand it to my doctor who’s been prescribing them for 2 years. The longer you take them, the less they work and the more the Body craves them.

I agree! I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe *all* of it (the feelings, the clinical part of it, recovery, etc) it so honestly and brutally, while so eloquently and almost beautifully.

Him describing the pain of drug addiction and withdrawal was extremely eye opening. He's been a victim of so many things these last few years. For her to make a spectacle of this terrible situation just shows how little she cared and loved this man. So cold.

I read somewhere there are studies linking borderline disorder (what she was diagnosed by the forensic psychologist in the trial) to psychopathic traits, specially in the case of women. Some even claim that borderline disorder is the way in which psycopathy is expressed in women.

If you ever wondered what Johnny Depp is like in real life, we now know: kind, giving, gentle, forgiving, somewhat damaged, yet willing to see the best in others. Good job, Amber.
He just seems like an innately good person, who just wants to do his thing and be left alone and loved like all of us, troubled due to childhood trauma then Amber trauma but trying his best like we all are. I wholeheartedly believe he is innocent and she is a kniving manipulative woman who is taking advantage of being a a famous woman today to get her revenge, because she doesn’t strike me as someone who takes loosing well so she goes all out to ruin you. I hope justice proofs my point and poor Johnny can go back to pooping in peace without it being aired for the whole world to see.

This is very true. I always saw him as a very talented actor, but as for him, I had no clue what kind of person he was. I thought maybe, weird? Idk. But, in my opinion, as much pain he’s been through from his addictions and from her, he’s obviously lived a hard life. But, I now see him in a much different light. He’s to the point, he seems really down to earth, very smart and honestly a very unique, funny and seems like a very caring man. I never knew any of that. And maybe it’s not appropriate, but I find his humor to be perfection. It’s probably a coping mechanism, but he is funny.

He has been helping friends and slews of people for years, giving them places to live, jobs, whatever they needed, without asking anything in return. His team of employees has been with him for decades and every single one of them so clearly respect and love him. In contrast, not even Heard's own family, and none of her former friends seem to want to testify on her behalf.

Hearing him describe the feelings of opioid withdrawal was very very real…… I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been for him to sit up there & relive that all over again. Just hearing him describe it brought back some of those horrible feelings again.. I 100% understand why he kept a few in his pocket when he knew he was going to be around such chaos..

When people say opiate withdrawal feels like dying, they aren’t exaggerating. It feels like every nerve in your body is exposed, right on the surface. You can feel the weight of air on your skin and it hurts. Your blood feels like it’s made of battery acid. You can’t sleep, can’t eat, cant regulate your body temperature, can’t get a moment of relief bc your brain and body are screaming. It’s pure hell that I might only wish on the most evil person on the planet…now imagine trying to navigate those feelings, that experience, with a psychotic banshee breathing down your neck. I truly believe every cell in Johnny’s body was struggling and suffering through that detox and Amber still couldn’t give him a moment’s peace. It’s nothing short of a miracle that Johnny kicked opiates while in a relationship with that soul-sucking vampire of a “woman”…she could have very easily continued to lead him down a path to his own demise. He’s lucky to have so many other amazing and supportive people surrounding him who have his best interest in mind, and that he made it out of this situation with his sanity and his LIFE. Amber is a conniving, self-absorbed, calculating, manipulative monster and I pray she gets everything she has coming to her.
So many people suffering because the medics said this medication was not addictive. It’s a scandal of momentous proportions . Tremendous kudos to the ones who have had the courage to break free.

In 2016 I finally kicked the opiate habit after my 31-year-old niece suddenly tragically died of fentanyl overdose

My first marriage was a horrible affair to the point where I ended up in a mental health institution because I tried to kill myself. When I regained my emotional and physical strength and my personality rebooted, I thought that I would never marry again. My second wife (eleven years of marriage) has restored my faith in the hope that true respectful love can be sustained when found. She is a Doctor (so no fool), and is the most kind gentle person I have ever m8. She is my best friend and so supportive. She has helped me to see the good in people and to have a heart of forgiveness when it is derserved and only when deserved. Jack my dear Captain, there is a woman on this earth out there, that will truly love you, not for what you have materially but for what you have in your heart. You might have to hoist the Jolly Roger and sail the seven seas, but she is out there! Don't give up on that! If ever you find yourself near my home, you will always be welcome. This is a sad story. I had no idea Johnny had so much chaos and pain in his life. I mean, you could kind of tell by the look of sadness in his eyes ever since he was a kid, and this story could still end in tragedy if someone doesn't help him. I think that is part of why he needs to tell his story. Amber didn't help matters, just made it all so much worse. Frankly, it's a miracle he's still alive at this point

My doctor warns me if something she wants to prescribe is addictive. She knows I'll refuse to take it, because I fear becoming an addict. I have an addictive personality. I can't say no to food at all, for example. Fortunately I have an ethical doctor that cares about the side effects of what she is prescribing. My thoughts are with all the patients who have become addicts because of their doctors.

i know this video is not specifically about his friends, but i am so glad Johnny has all of the like-minded friends and colleagues he does. Johnny is able to sometimes laugh off some of this pain 100% as a coping mechanism to save himself from breaking down. birds of a feather flock together, and we can see that with his friends and colleagues. they sorta all have little laughs here and there. i'm so glad Johnny has that support system, when dealing with such a volatile relationship with an extreme abuser.
Anyone who has worked for Depp isn't just providing a service, they become a friend. My favourite is the sound engineer who didn't know that Johnny had specified as a carry in his contracts 🥹🧡🌷
As a child when I first watched " Charlie and the chocolate factory" I never imagined that my first ever crush in life ( Mr. Willi Wonka) being on a court because of an abusive, crazy woman. It’s so sad that Ambers lawyers still attempt to silence Johnny Depps voice.. in a case where the point is to have his voice heard. I get that’s procedure and tactics to win a case but morally how disrespectful and utterly disgusting.

I remember my first wife would start fights to leave and have an excuse for meeting the head of surgery at the hospital she was a nurse at to get together. His wife assumed he was working.
She actually got arrested in 2009 for assaulting her dating interest at that time by Seattle police. Her ex-lover blew it off and tried getting her out of jail by dropping the charges which she then continued the abuse then. If she had faced jail time for that perhaps Johnny could have been spared the curse of Amber turd. Literally all her past relationships she has been consistently abusive, most of her "lovers" have pictures of bruises going across their left eye in at least 1 picture all of them in the same place including elon musk. Most of her relationships have ended with her commiting affairs, and there is a lot of relationships she was in, most spanning only a few months because no one tolerated her crap as much as Johnny or Elon.
There is a few good things that having this broadcast live has done. One is showing how very kindhearted , caring,loving ,humble. ,honest man Mr. Depp is. Another is people will recognize that they are living through abuse,and if Mr. Depp can do it, they can too,. This is opening up other people's eyes when someone confieds in another about abuse. The trial shows how pathetic lawyers can be that it is sad and funny at the same time. ( oh, and Mr. Depp has a great personality and can be funny and patient). The trial also shows what a lying, gold digging, fake, mean, narcissistic abuser his x wife is. For me personality being Mr. Depp's age shows that. I am not the only one who is older and had a psycho ,but didn't marry him. I had to throw him in jail four times ( should have been more)

I have not been a huge Jonny Depp fan in the past. I’ve seen some of his movies- pirates of the Caribbean was good, but not one of my favorites. I prefer the original Willy Wonka and Edward Scissorhands was just weird to me. But…watching this trial, I have become a fan of Jonny Depp the person & at the end of the day, isn’t that the more important thing? What you do for a living does not define who you are. I feel for this guy and I’m cheering him on in this case. I hope he gets the Justice and the peace of mind he deserves as a result of this. I’m also going to make a point to go back and watch his movies now. I think I will see them in a different light…I’m not a Marine but they have a motto I like “adopt, improvise, overcome” to me, this is the story of Jonny’s life & I can relate to that.

SEVERE mental illness. extreme bpd and hpd. having one is bad enough. i used to have BPD and god i was so crazy, never abusive just so up & down and beat myself up, which does unfortunately have an impact on your loved ones having to see you so unwell. bpd is considered one of the most painful mental illnesses. then add histrionic on top?? AND she has then decided to be an abuser. she is crazy. im surprised she is able to just sit there with a blank look on her face. i wonder if she's drugged out to be calm here in court.
mental illness is not an excuse for any of the abuse she has committed but when you ask "what is wrong" with her, that is her problem. she & Johnny will need a lot of attentive medical care to fully recover.

I agree with everyone who can see that it's Amber who was the abusive one in the marriage. But it's not unusual for a middle aged man (in his 50s) to dump his "old" wife and kids and fall head over heels crazy in love with a young hot chick. Not unusual for a young chick to be immature and needy - to need a father figure to take care of her financially, emotionally, mentally - to pay the rent, pay the bills, fix problems etc etc. Big age differences sometimes work, sometimes don't. Too bad Johnny and Amber were so wrong for each other but not a big surprise.
The hardest thing about these situations, is the victim is pushed to the limits and will then act erratically because of the subtle but consistant abuse, they will get angry, frustrated, turn to substances then they will look at him and say: "Well no wonder he/she treated him/her like that, look how crazy and erratic they are".
Public opinion will never take into account the nuances of why somebody acted that way.
