For me it's music on a daily basis. At the moment I also often catch myself rewatching some of my favourite ghibli moments on Netflix and eventually ending up watching the whole movie. It's just so much fun. Great video by the way!
Every now and then I feel like getting transported to that beautiful Ghibli world and I'll just go and watch or rewatch one. It's wonderful 2d art style is still one of the most iconic animation styles, I love it. And also same with music, can't live without it. Thank you!
Great video. And I guess for anime and stuff its mostly Harhuhi, Oregairu, Oresuki and even Slam Dunk, that show sure had a lot of stretched out scenes. And La La Land for me was also a pretty special film. It was the first musical I ever saw in theatres and let me tell you the first time seeing it was basically probably how the characters must've felt in the observatory scene. And the Rami films, even the third one, they're godly. But I guess that feeling of giving up or at least evolving or moving on from your dreams was really summed up by Whiplash more than anything. And a Japanese live action film called Sparkle. But these days nothing can really seem to pull you out and sometimes flims and shows and even books can be a reflective thing, becoming double negative, and pushing you further down into that space of self doubt and hate. And that tunnel vision that you can tend to get makes it so that any sort of fiction or relatibility medium or general stimulus rarely sufficient outliers to bring you back, I suppose it tends to happen when you end up thinking too much of yourself, I don't know. And that first moment of that first time, those experiences, those feelings, second hand and shaded, disappearing I suppose the more you're remembering, trying to recreate them and maybe they might even become stronger or different but never the same, I don't know. And I guess there are lot more I could say, but I'm sure you already know it. Even fiction starts to feel cheap, well, they are still lies aren't they.
I totally understand what you mean. There are times when stories fill that void in your heart and other times where it has of effect at all. At the end of the day stories are work of fiction as you also pointed out, but there are sometimes great lessons that can change someone's perspective on things. For example in Haikyuu which I mentioned in this video, there is a character who states that "geniuses" in any field work different than all of us. What he means is that they'll try to do things from 1-20 instead of 1-10 for example. Basically he talks about this very simple idea of hard work and your daily routine being the key. "I am built upon the small things I do every day and the results are nothing but a byproduct". And idea as simple as that makes me believe that people in these stories ,although often exaggerated, have something genuinely meaningful to them as well. I don't know how well I expressed what I wanted to say but it's hard to just talk about this topic in a short comment.
@@Fahriya I get what you mean. But it's just kind of strange sometimes, how even though you're living your life you never expected it to be like this. And even though you've seen others go through with the train of actions and subsequent cosequences of their mistakes you can't seem to not go through them yourself or worse, almost like you're idolizing them or better yet, embodying them through their actions, either characters fictional or near us in real life. I guess what I mean to say is I can see their genuiness and meaningfulness, but it depends really on how much salt we can or are willing to give to them or see them as such. If your life still sucks, I guess it still sucks. But yeah, they do still matter, stories or any other communicative artform, cause for a second you're at the circus with Chaplin, being a street cameraman with Keaton, or Batman with any of his iterations or Spiderman or a super saiyan, you're something more, something different while still being yourself, that vicarious carthasis of being a human being without the full weight and baggage of it and suffering the consequences and inhibitions of actions, but I'd guess they can become problematic if they become your sole dependant for any sort of close human warmth or experience, you lose sight of them, you lose sight of their worth, and that I guess is the cyclical state of things. But anyways thanks for your reply and all that. And if you do end up reading this long winded reply then, well, here are some more stuff like: My Little Monster, Toradora, FMA:Brotherhood, Invincible (comic), Saga, Blankets, and Kimi ni Todoke, a wierd korean film called Student A, Reanimator, Scanners, From Beyond, The Whisper from Darkness (there's a really cool looking retro movie of it out there), and really any of Lovecraft's stories, even his cowritten stuff, Ray Bradbury stories, The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, Ask the Dust by John Fante, Stoner by John Williams, really, anything, the list keeps on changing and growing as you do and as such should be characterized less as a list and more as a web or mesh chain of things, hell, even ghibli still picks the day up. It's sort of like you've lived a while enough, or you think/feel you do that you tend to forget what you're living for, moments like you said, and moments for the chances and hours to make something yourself, that would make the songs of birds tomorrow worth listening to. And yeah, that's about it at the top of my head, and thanks. And yep, Saki K is pretty amazing.
Just now I saw this quote from Blue Period manga that goes like this: "Why am I getting excited over someone else's victory... these feelings aren't my own". Sometimes I use these stories to hide away from the reality and all the unpleasant moments I will have to live through as I grow older. At the end of the day tho, these stories and emotions I feel might be nice but I want a story of my own. Not a grandiose one, but one where I can experience excitement through my own real-life experiences. Stories will always hold an important place in my heart as they have actually taught me some important lessons as well, but it is always just as crucial to focus on reality and what you can get out of it yourself. Also FMA: Brotherhood is great and I'd recommend Silver Spoon from the same mangaka. It is also one of my favorites and also has tons of meaningful moments. There are 2 seasons of the anime out there but the story is only finished in the manga form. It's a comedy that does its job of entertaining really well and drama that perfectly presents itself in the form of characters' growths throughout the story.
I can relate to going back to Jurassic Park for nostalgia. Film is medicinal in many ways. Even more so for those who appreciate it as an art or philosophy rather than simply entertainment. Thanks for sharing.
Fahriya in her video essayist era 😍😍 but seriously, we need more video essays in the future!! great job as always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is not my first nor best of this type, I recommend watching my "Poetry" video as well. Thank you.

Thank you, that's a big compliment ❤.
