Tony, I'm watching the part where you're priming the oil system and thinking how using an air ratchet or cordless ratchet would make that job way easier than the 90 degree adapter you're messing with. 👍👍

This might be my favorite automotive channel currently. Freiburger and Finnegan are obviously the OGs, Freiburger is in his Motortrend empire and Mike's channel is great but I feel like Stay Tuned is the spiritual successor to Roadkill now

People don't beleive me when I tell them my dad and an associate built a 327 chevy stoked down to 290 that would Rev out to 12K. This was 1970s drag philosophy in whatever class they were running. There was no water in that engine. The heads were "concreted." Rockers were on a shaft. Triple coil valve springs. The whole point of these revs was to make high rpm torque. They had it mated to a torque flight transmission with a manual shift. And a monster rear differential in the rear crazy low (high numerical) ratio. It was one manual shift without a clutch at half track and nothing but rpms through the 1/4 mile trap. Just a different philosophy. But people say pushord engines can't rev that high. I saw it. I heard it.

I remember back in the early 80’s we were spending at least 5 grand to make a decent dent at Atco or Maple Grove. So the money you spent on that engine was well spent if you’re looking to have fun. Can’t wait to see what it runs. Remember that with any racing engine that the drive shaft is the weakest point. I’ve seen multiple twist and shouts at the track and it really can be frustrating and avoided. Great Video Thanks 🙏

Obviously I love the stuff you’re doing! Your videos are extremely well produced! Your content is informative, funny, and very entertaining. You do an amazing job!!! It’s better than watching you on a network show. GREAT JOB!
You mention getting on I-95 at Byberry Rd during one of the 55 episodes. I lived in NE Philly in Morell Park by the NE airport, very close to Byberry Rd. Back in the day, Byberry was also a mental institute on the west side of Roosevelt Blvd north of Woodhaven Rd. I am sure it’s long gone and something else is built there now. It was a spooking looking place back then. My mother used to say, “you kids are making me crazy, they are gonna put me in Byberry!”
We moved to Pottstown in 1969. I know every country road for a 20 mile radius because my parents encouraged us to explore on our bikes. It was a different time, kids went outside and played. Our favorite pizza place was Little Italy on north High St close to the Hospital. They must have had issues with the “family” in the city because the restaurant got blown up 2 times back in 1974/75. After the second bomb, we always got our pies TO GO!
The Little Italy restaurant was rebuilt across from the Hill School, I ate there in 2007 revisiting on a business trip.
Moved to Atlanta in 1978, I think of Pottstown all the time! When I saw that your shows were possibly produced in the area, I started watching the background to see if I recognize anything. Is your shop closer to Pennsburg?

In the 1980s film The Blues Brothers, Elwood says, "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses". Jake then responds, "Hit it".

That thing sounds incredible, and you can actually hear that it's a NASCAR engine. V8's at those RPM's are like no other music !!!

Few months ago i acquired two 57's that came with the property we bought. Was able to get paperwork for one and can't wait to get started on it. I like 55's better but, I'm not complaining about free

What an awesome beast! Can't wait for you to install new suspension and dial it in. No matter what form of racing you do with this, it will be a real contender. ✌️

What a fantastic build! This is super cool. The sound of the engine is pure magic. I do think you should consider relocating the oil tank for the option of running the hood.

I think we can modify it and shorten it and let it rock right there! Agreed though, hood would be good.

Built one, years ago, 2 years researching parts to put together and acquiring them, then finding a machine shop I trusted to machine the ultra rare bowtie block, check all measurements, balance and blueprint the block, bush the lifter bores in perfect alignment, then I weighed every moving part like rods pistons rings etc and made them all weigh exactly the same, assemble the engine carefully placing the 2k callies bullet crank, then each rod and piston assembly, custom port the AFR heads and install titanium backcut valves with beehive springs, solid roller lifters, 3/8 chromoly pushrods, custom made single plane Wilson intake, 2" carb spacer for added velocity, 800 cfm Carter thermoquad, dyno test and ran 780 hp at 8,000 rpm 600 ft # tourque at 5500.
This engine would wind like a 2 stroke chainsaw the instant the throttle was touched to 9k. Amazing ! And the most fun I've had building an engine ever. Certainly my most successful home build.

Bro I am low-key geeking out over this build!
I've been anticipating a follow up video after the dyno session. I want to put one of these engines into a factory 5.
Mid or rear mounted. All american built supercar!

Those headers are gonna add another 15-20HP IMO over the dyno one. Great build guys. Congratulations Tony on getting your new project car running.
