Do you ever plan on maybe potentially livestreaming in the near future while drawing?? I also want to compliment you because I have been looking up to you for over 2 years now and you never fail to amaze me. I'd say you're my number 1 inspiration :)) During the video I was even just like in awe because of how complicated it can get with the fold of the wings, it looked so difficult honestly.
Someday! I tried it before ( 2 years ago? ) and was a bit overwhelmed, but maybe now that youtube had streaming features I might feel less out of my depth if I do it via youtube? I don't even remember how I even managed to set it up, so I'd have to relearn everything,, and I don't even know if my current computer could handle it (I'm working from a laptop) So I might just wait until I get myself a new computer? I'm probably just stalling for time :'3 I think I just need to recognize that it's ok to have no idea what I'm doing, and just do some weird but chill test-runs before trying to jump straight into a full livestream?
I'm a firm believer of "dragon" being an overarching term that describes the family of big dragon-like reptiles, to which "wyverns" belongs to :> Just like a Chinese dragon without wings is still called a "dragon" instead of "floating lizard". But thank you in any case!!
Not yet but someday :'> I could technically make one right now, but all I could offer without any further planning would be occasional sketches and WIP previews. It'd be nice to be able to offer something more than that,, maybe video/streaming related content, art critiques?, or access to a discord server but those are things I haven't yet looked much into
Just a guess from process, but do you work with charcoal and paint on works done off the computer? I’m curious as to how your particular methodology for art came about! It’s not like most others whose style mimics pencil, pen, and coloring with pencils or sometimes watercolor
Never used charcoal before, and the times I've drawn a proper illustration with acrylics can be counted on my hands alone :'> while I currently have 1000+ art pieces in my Deviantart gallery in the category of "digital art". The kind of traditional stuff I do currently can be seen in this video ua-cam.com/video/PwuGG_Fu4Yk/v-deo.html but I'm mainly a digital artist. The different processes I use for digital drawing now is largely the result of having drawn digitally for the past 7 years. It's been quite the long journey with lots of various experimentations. If you'd like, you could go back all the way to the beginning of my Deviantart www.deviantart.com/remarin/gallery/ to browse through my development (since I started the account 2011, it basically follows 100% of my digital journey) But if you'd like a more limited time-span, the main point where it probably started to resemble traditional painting or similar processes, was when I started to learn how to "one-layer-paint", it's not always limited to "one layer" but the methods used stay the same. The first time I felt like I succeeded was this piece back in 2015 www.deviantart.com/remarin/art/oo-558678641 So this particular type of digital art, has been in process for the past 3 years!
Thanks to you, I have gotten into digital art. I just started a few days ago, experimenting on photoshop. Honestly, your art is so amazing! I subbed a while ago. I could learn a lot from you, definitely. Are you going to livestream?
That makes me incredibly happy to hear!! I was just planning on revisiting the third ever digital drawing I've posted online for an upcoming video (7 years old!) so it'll definitely be fun to show you guys what a couple of years investment can do! And I'm planning on getting into livestream, (I tried it out a 2 years ago I think?) I just gotta get my mind together and accept that it's fine to absolutely have no idea what I'm doing :'0 I've previously told myself I'll just wait until I get a better computer (I'm working off of a laptop currently) but it wouldn't hurt to just try doing some chill test runs
I have two computers I can use, a desktop and a laptop and I'm mainly using the laptop for less lag. I've done two in the past week. For one, I practiced color and such and the other was lighting. I have mainly trouble with lighting and shading, it's always been a challenge for me (digitally) I've been drawing for almost 10 years in sketchbooks and whenever I look at digital art I wish I had the ability to instantly learn it. But, I've accepted it takes practice so I'm willing to take the time to learn now. My wolves and cats are best on computer, as I've been drawing wolves for 9 years and cats on and off for 5 years, I guess. You don't have to reply to this, just so you know. ;3 Again, thank you! (Hope this wasn't too long? Sorry if it was, I have a tendency to ramble on so I'm gonna go now.)
I felt quite nervous at first, recording myself while drawing - a weird feeling of not wanting to do any errors, since I'm a bit of a perfectionist. But I fought through it initially just because I really wanted to get into making youtube videos, and after a while I realized that the 10 minutes you spend redrawing that one little detail, goes by in a second during the video. And sure you can edit out your struggles in the video if you want to, but people often really want to see your process of problem-solving too! Try to focus on doing it simply because you want to do it! You could test things out by just doing recordings for yourself - you gain a very interesting new perspective on your art by being able to literally watch yourself draw. At first I had to prep myself mentally to get myself to record a drawing process, but nowadays I've just turned it into a routine to press record - at least any time I start drawing a commission.
@@Remarin Any advice on if I dont finish my work in one sitting? I'm kinda new to the whole digital art thing so I take a long time. And sometimes cant finish in one sitting.
You can pause your recording anytime, save the file, and just resume recording whenever you feel like it! I have videos in process that I have recorded weeks ago, and currently have divided into 3 different video files - all will which be put together in a video-editing program once I'm done.
Close! I'm actually from Luxembourg, but both my parents are Swedish :> German is one of the main languages here, and we learn it before English in school
gurl i feel you with those wings *FOLDED WINGS IS SO DAMN HARD!!* also what dragon is that, i mean i know its a Wyvern but where did you reference it from
I tried livestreaming once or twice (long ago) and I remember it being strangely stressful? :'0 it took me a while to get used to even just plain recording myself drawing. It would be nice to get into livestreaming as a regular thing, but I don't think my current computer could handle it very well (I work from a laptop, not a pc) so I'm at the very least waiting until I buy myself something with more power (or whatever computers need to run fast and well, I'm no tech-expert)
"What site I use"? Are you asking where I post them? Or are you asking how I make them? Because I use a program called Krita to make them, but I "use the site" Deviantart to post them, here's a folder with them: www.deviantart.com/remarin/gallery/64020030/Animated I hope that answered your question? :>
I'm currently not open, and previously I mainly did my commissions via Deviantart :0 though since I've been recently getting more questions about it here and there in youtube comments, I'm planning to announce the re-opening via video here as well (not a video dedicated to it, just a normal speedpaint probably, with "commissions are open" in the title and a link to the info in the description) If people want to commission but don't have a deviantart, the info exchange can go via email :>
