    Just asking... why not just hook a hose to the hose intake on the engine, like the manual says to do?

      In our experience it does not provide enough water to the water pump, thus causing the impeller to weaken and shorten it's usable life.

      Does what stay in the pump and power head? I live in northern Michigan. Don’t want water to freeze and crack everything.

      @@brentwilson2264 Just raise and lower the engine a few times and all remaining water will siphon out. I live in Canada where it goes down to -25C and never had any issues at all.
