You should definitely get a pill organizer. They are pretty cheap on Amazon. I do watch every video, but I rarely comment. Not only am I interested in Orchids, I'm also invested in YOU! I've been watching you for years, and I like to know how you are doing. You're like a long distance friend who I drink my coffee with every day. Clickbait titles DOES help with view count! I'm in the USA, and we're preparing for a nasty snow storm. My area is expected to get 10-12 inches of snow. I'm not looking forward to it. A friend of mine in Liverpool UK, was telling me this morning they were getting snow and ice. I hope everything clears up for everyone soon! Please stay happy and healthy this year. I look forward to new videos. For me, it doesn't really matter what you talk about when it comes to orchid content. I just enjoy listening to you talk.
Happy and healthy new year for you. 🍀 Hopefully we all get a pretty good growing year. ☀️🌱💧 I'm around since you moved and enjoyed almost every video. ❤️
Weather permitting, I hope to do more of that this year. Unfortunately, many of the sites are hilly and my fitness levels are not as good as they once were especially as I now have a heart condition.
I love your channel Roger. I watch every video you post. I don’t always comment but I do watch. I have learned so much. Thank you for all the work you put into each and every video. I do appreciate it. 😊
I watch all your videos even though I don't have a vast orchid collection, I just love orchids and enjoy watching and listening to your advice and knowledge you have on orchids, and wait all week for your Sunday chat.
Keep going, Roger! I'm in a similar situation, so we keep going. :) My husband passed away last year, and I always watch your videos - you are comforting, and it's my hobby, too. You've helped me through some pretty rough times with nice talks and good attention-getters. Take care of yourself - you are important to many of us! 💗💗💗
@@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai thanks!! Lucy was my first cat after I married and moved out of my parents home in my early twenties. She was a great cat. All black. I loved her dearly!!!
I watch your channel because I love my very small orchid collection and always learn something from you.I live in a semi tropical zone but…orchids are orchids and any information about them interest me.❤
Happy New Year. I don't ever empty my disa's water tray. I just top the water up when it is almost evaporated. I don't have any issues with them, I just wash the tray once a year or so when I re-pot them.
Agree.....January & February are the most unlikable months ,that's for sure 🥺. Hobby of growing orchid and other house plants helps me a lot with the stress those two months bring 😁. Thank you ,Roger for another enjoyable Sunday chat 🌺. Take care 🤗.
Hi, Roger! Happy New Year!🎉 I have been subscribed to your channel for quite a few years now, when you were at the old place. You had the "kitchen time", your very nice videos outdoors looking for wild orchids, butterflies and promising seedlings to grow into bonsais. I watch all your videos in my free time. Sometimes, things get very busy, so I catch up later. 😊 As many viewers mentioned, there are pillboxes that allow you to organize your pills for a whole week (and smaller ones too). They are very useful. I very much hope that you can stay right where you are! Your work and generosity sharing your knowledge and experience are very valuable. I am most grateful, and believe my orchids got happier since I found you, Nina and Rick!❤ Hapoy growing! 🌸
No time wasted as I sit through everything because you are both informative and entertaining. Bonus, I have one of those mini under-desk exercise machines that I pedal away the km while watching, which helps keep me fit when it is minus-oh-dear-god outside.
The more items in the mix - the more likely to forget something. The pills are on the kitchen work surface where I prepare food and feed my cat - in full view. No amount of 'aids' will make that any better.
Being an avid fan, I always look forward to listening to you y learning more about all the interesting things you have taught me about orchids. I also love the gardening videos in that I am a passionate gardener. The Bonsai is interesting, but it doesn't wag my tail. Pill organizer is food for thought as I keep forgetting to take mine on occasion. Field trips would be a good plan when the sun comes out so butterflies can warm their wings y we can see them fly. Just keep on keeping on y take good care of yourself so we can keep on keeping on too.🦋🦋🦋💋
It's a quiet time for the garden as well as the orchids but the garden will be the first to respond to longer days. I am hoping to do more trips out this year but I have to be aware of the restrictions my heart condition impose - hilly regions may not be the best idea.
Roger I have been watching all your videos for almost 8 years you are a wonderful grower that has helped me with my orchids. Wishing you the best in the coming year.
I'm with your channel for a long time -( you were still posting under your name) and I am still enjoying every video - I can't always watch every day but I catch up on my days off. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge - I learned so much through the years - keep doing what you do its greatly appreciated.
Definitely need to do strengthening and balance exercises. You can get checklists to check off your meds after you have taken them. Does your area have higher me health aids or nurses you can help you with your meds?
I feel like you need to increase your strength, not find ways to move less. Inability to get off the floor is a huge predictor of mortality. Practice! 💪
You might want to keep your eyes open for some more Laelia anceps cultivars and anceps hybrids. They can vary quite a lot and should do well in the cool temperatures of your conservatory.
So glad I don't have to deal with that UA-cam stuff and it will be a while before I may have to, still nowhere near monetizing 😁 You can get trays with a tap so you can empty the Disa tray without having to lift things
Also, the algorithm has put 2 new channel types in my feed. The first is those "Do this one thing for hundreds of blooms" scam type videos, the other is "Growing orchids in water culture", which has me intrigued(sp?). Just fyi what is happening on my end.
Not commenting a lot ( apologies for that) but been with this channel from the beginning :) and still enjoying it thoroughly, even though most of orchids I am growing are of opposite spectrum. i grow hot growers.
The craziest, kookiest western I've ever seen is My Name is Nobody. Well, that or Greaser's Palace. See if you can find them on-line. Very surreal if you're into that kind of thing. I mean really off the wall stuff. Entertaining in its own way. Well, kinda, hahaha. My husband loves westerns. Speaking of west, my orchids are in Arizona and I'm still in the Chicago area! Thanks for your efforts with the channel.
Sorry, having thoughts as you are speaking. Would it do any harm to do other things on your channel? I'm currently starting seeds for the garden...one idea. Maybe go for a walk on a nice day? Take us with you and work on your fitness at the same time! Do more Q&A Some channels do a viewers choice type video...encouraging interaction. I'll probably think of more if I keep drinking coffee lol
Can you talk about cymbidiums please . I know you did already but . Im in Brisbane ,keep my cymbidiums out in my casebo . They didn't flower this spring . Are there different cymbidiums flowering autumn .?
There are some Summer blooming types but most bloom through Winter into Spring. Cymbidiums need good light as the bulbs are maturing and also need cooler nights at these times (normally when outside, this happens as the days head into Autumn).
Roger, Would Encyclia orchids be a genera which would interest you? I have Phaius orchids, but I think they are to warm a growers for your conditions. Just a thought.
Roger just to let you know I clicked on to this video about 14.10 and noticed that 30 people had previously viewed it and it was uploaded about 22 minutes ago however I noticed that no adverts were pushed on this video so I’m assuming that UA-cam must have a delay before they add adverts which really could be a loss to creators by losing ad revenue depending on how many views are watched before the ads kick in. thanks for the shout out always appreciated.
As others have said, a man as analytical as yourself & you DON'T own a pill box? Get yourself a pill box with am/pm and load it up to avoid missing your tablets. You'll be doing yourself a favour long term. Lots of spikes coming out down the road here in Christchurch on my indoor plants now and phalaenopsis has a new flower shoot growing. Roll on spring time 🌱🌼 I usually watch one or 2 videos every other week & look forward to the ones I do watch 👍
The pills are where I prepare food and feed Mojo in full view. Can't really do much more than that. Adding gadgets would just be additional things to forget?
Hi Roger, I've often wondered what happens if I am half way through a video and don't finish it (due to someone knocking on the door etc.) Does UA-cam consider this someone dropping out because they didn't enjoy the video, even though they have given it a thumbs up? Sometimes I want to start watching one of your videos but know that I need to go to work so won't get through the whole video, I'm worried that it will give the video a negative strike if I start but don't finish.
The way the algorithms work is not disclosed and are often changing but the way most think it works could be thought of as a points system. A video offered by UA-cam and then selected that is watched in full including all adverts would be say 10 points and would be high on the UA-cam promotions list for those viewers most interested in that sort of video especially if that viewer then goes on to watch another video from the same channel. Points would then be deducted for each part not completed like skipping some ads, not watching all the video, only watching a small amount of the video. I hope you see what I mean. If a video is liked, it is a plus point. UA-cam's main goals are based around retention and engagement.
Hi Roger, happiest of new years to you! I've been watching for a while and your videos are definitely something I look forward to every week and every year. As for the pills, try also a reminder in your phone OR putting the pills themselves near your kettle/coffee cup and that way you can't forget (this is my trick: its called habit stacking attach a new behaviour you want to something you already do 😉) looking forward to the new year with you. Best!
I hate those negative video titles and avoid them. It might be way into conspiracy theory territory but if "someone" had the job of demoralizing a people, wouldn't promoting negative social media be a good way to do it? I like to listen to happy people talk about subjects they enjoy. 😊
Water has weight and you have to carry it can equal back / knee pain. You have most likely done it but a big downfall for most weight loss is portion size. Also have you considered going for short walks when you can. Gaming, yes I still do, it's good for the brain when it is a thinking game not a keyboard basher lol. Enjoyed talk again they are good.
