Listening this is akin to being at a Shiva temple on an early north indian winter morning..in the hills of Uttarakhand..just about at the break of dawn..praying lord Shiva and thanking Him. Even though Jhinjhoti is a Late Night Raaga...Panditji's rendition pure bliss!!!
There was a beautiful program by Ustad Shujaat Khan in Mausiqui ek khoj (available on youtube) where he sings and plays 'lakhuti' - a very old bandish in Jhinjhoti. It sounds exactly like what Mallikarjunji is singing. And whichever the name, it is simply GREAT!
+prasad sawant It is Khamaji Bhatiyar, not Jhinjhoti. I have heard this particular bandish sung by many others under the name Khamaji Bhatiyar. And the feeling of this one is similar to but still unlike Jhinjhoti. Please refer my other comment.
+Achintya Prahlad The Khamaji Bhatiyar bandish is, as far as I know, Mahadeva Shiva Shankara. This bandish is Mahadeva Vishwambara as far as I can hear. You can hear Malini Rajurkar performing the same Atrauli-Jaipur Jhinjhoti bandish here: autrimncpa.wordpress.com/jhinjhoti/
When I listen to classical music I always go directly to the swaras. The way the swaras are treated in this one is like Khamaji Bhatiyar and not like Jhinjhoti.
+Achintya Prahlad I apologize, you are absolutely correct. I came across the Khamaji Bhatiyar of Anandrao Limayebuwa and it is clear to me now. This is Khamaji Bhatiyar. Then again Alladiya Khansahab was known to present a different cheez to diferent shishiya with different elements.
This is actually Jor Raag khamaj Bhatiyar not jhinjhoti ; in Jaipur Atrauli and Agra and Gwalior Gharana as they have different ways of proper Vocal breathing techniques unique ly scientific also they have Jor Raag, thhat Raag , mishra raagas which are not similar to other gaya ki s or gayan patterns but also keeps the sanctity of the same . Ptarmigan Nara yan Rao also sung the same song with the label of Raag Khamaj bhatiyar on UA-cam
@classics retold, your words have some semblance. Some prefer to call it Kambhoji too. But this discussion takes us to a state of judgement. Let us enjoy the music instead.

Wonderful, as if Mahadev is dancing with Mansurji's divine voice, which reaches us to Samadhi like heights. No end for our satiation with his humming.
great feeling indeed

Thank you for posting, Sir. Never heard such a unique take on Jhinjoti. But can we expect less from Panditji? Absolutely celestial.
Yes, definitely
Based on a Dhrupad on praise of the lord Shiva🙏

Jhinjhoti. I learned the same bandish but sung a little bit differently. The diction and presentation are typical of Panditji’s style
