Art and Artists Are Made at MacDowell

This short film offers a view into the heart of MacDowell’s belief in the power of art to transform society - and how we ensure our Fellows continue to do that. The artists who have come to our residency program over the past century have had great impacts on world culture and within their communities, and MacDowell offers time, space, community, and the freedom to create so that today's artists may do the same.
Support and care of creative people is at the core of what we do, nourishing Fellows with three meals a day, a private studio, and enabling them to think only of their art. Watch this short video for a peek at how and where that magic takes place.
