*What is your Favorite Tarp Shelter design of all time? Also DAY 1 of my 7 Day $20 Survival Challenge Begin Saturday Nov 9th 2019!!!*
Tarp tent is pretty much eternally cool. I've got some other stuff rocking with standard tarps that I haven't seen elsewhere..... but I'm thinking about starting a 'Tube channel' so I'll keep them to myself for now. But I will say that sewing extra cord loops to the edges of your standard tarp will raise new possibilities 👍
Are you going to make any new content? I miss it
@@perfectweather YES!!!
This is my favourite comment
I love how all the designs were his favorite.
Lmao 😂 being unscripted in front of a camera is not always easy.
Justin Thorne to be fair they are all good.
😂
I like when he like 😁 planning to buy tarp and this guy conviced me 10/10
This is my favorite comment
Did anyone count how many designs he said were his favorite? New drinking game: go back and re-watch. Every time he says "favorite," take a shot.
Ten times... Drinking Games... BEGIN!
Your heart is in the right place , so God bless you
He skipped over you to like ur comment so i liked it myself
That one tarp set up was my favorite
1. Favorite 2. Top favorite 3. Absolute favorite 4. Hand-down favorite 5. Favoritest 6. Favorite all-around 7. Goddamn favorite 8. Bitchin’ favorite 9. Freakin’ favorite 10. ... (let me guess 🤔) No.1 favorite
Lmao 😂 Not exactly putting in a design i dont enjoy using
ME: This is my favorite video on tarps!
ALSO ME: This is the only video on tarps I've seen.
my favorite, lay it on the ground, lay down and role. you have a burrito
The Burrito Tarp is legit! lol
super effective! no ridgeline, stakes, or tie offs! great for almost any weather! AND full integratable into any other design!
Goes to show you don’t need to spend lots of money on an expensive tent.....just a decent sized sturdy tarp, pegs, rope and some knowledge from guys like dude in this vid.
Wow. Thank you so much for this video.
Now I know how to drape cloth over a piece of string and put some rocks on a plastic sheet.
The Holden is the configuration I go to 90% of the time. So quick and minimal equipment needed. If rain and wind threaten entry at the front, simply pin the two front corners at the hiking staff at center. Just like battening the hatch. Otherwise I toss at least one side on top of the triangle roof and enjoy the stars. I seldom have to exit my sleeping bag to make the adjustments.
Great tips on these other configurations!
Right on!
this is my ten favourite shelter
You always help me so much. You and your wife rock. So glad there's cool people in the world
Glad you enjoying our episodes so much
your videos are soooooooo amazing i watch them over and over !!!
Always a groovy deal when ya get off work @ 2 am and get to watch a fresh fun info filled video. The DropForged Fam done it again 👍. I’ll be practicing that big blue set up you n Outdoor Mama done. That’ll be nice for up here in the central Oregon high desert.
6 min shelter is good
⛺️👏👏👏, genuinely one of the best tarp instruction videos on UA-cam. 🤠😎👍
Floating tent is brilliant. I will try it as soon as possible. Thank you for video.
You showed quite a few setups I had never seen before. Thanks for the video.
So glad you found the video fun and useful!
Awesome job man. Was actually able to watch it premiere. Thanks for all the info and helping my channel grow. Looking forward to the adventure.
Me: *wonders which tarp design i’ll use*
Also me: *has a tent*
the best tarp design is number 1. go get a nice "real 12x12 tarp" so that it will actually last more than a couple of times setting it up. :)
@@Funny-bf8xf but doesn't keep out things that can fuck your world, like rattlers and spiders (count yourself lucky if you've never experienced either). There are places in this world where you may find yourself in need of shelter but there are no trees, and there are many things that would love to snuggle with you, yet only have _their_ best interests at heart.
@@hadmatter9240 don't need to worry much about that shit in the UK mate
Awesome stuff man!!!!!
Spectacular video Chris, as always! :-) Thanks for showing the easy setup and amazing configuration of our 12' rain fly. Love it! :-)
These were all awesome designs, definitely gonna test out most of these once I buy myself a square 12 footer
Who needs a big complicated tent when you know how to set up a tarp?
I didn’t know this was a thing. This is awesome. I feel like I’m free of a big bulky tent now
Tarp Shelters are alot of fun to build and yes... Much much lighter than a tent
That video helped me in how I could use my tarps to set them up for survival in camping outside and keep warm and safe. The tarps I have are rectangular and I have the lightest one in my backpack and the other in my house as a backup if it is needed. I would try to put mine up between two trees and have a sleeping area in between the trees. I have poles to stake the tarp down and keep trash bags in my pack to make ground support so my body is off the ground.
Clothing , sleep and housing, and some can goods and your good to go, Great videos
Very informative I’ve set like two of these up but the rest are new and some I really want to try like the bivy while in a bivy 😁 I’ll have to save this vid so I can remember what to do next spring 👍🏻.
Another awesome video!!! I use a Bushcraft Outfitters 10X10 and I don’t know if I can pick a favorite there’s thousands of ways to set them up and they’re all good for different reasons.
Really awesome video. I've been trying to set up some budget camping and it opened my eyes to how expensive tents and sleeping bags really are. I have a bivy with winter and summer sleeping bags to save on weight and money but I still wanted something over my head and to protect my gear. This video is super informative and really opened my eyes to the possibilities with a tarp.
We've just stared out camping with the family and we've gone with army surplus stuff. That way the cost isn't to bad and the stuff is usually pretty good for the job.
Love this channel especially watching videos building different type of tarp configuration
You always make beautiful and creative videos about things I do not know. You could teach many people how to do things! I wish I understood more but I am just learning.
Thanks 😊
We're gong camping in the bush with little kids soon. It's summer here in Australia. This video has been so helpful to create a play area separate to our sleeping area, should the weather turn. Brilliant. Thanks so much xx
Enjoy your summer!!
Really cool ideas, nice to see some new ones, thanks.
Thanks so much. Great video. Exactly what I needed for my next trip!
Great video, keep them coming!
Exactly what I was looking for. I just got a new 10 x 13 Aquaquest Defender tarp and need some ideas to experiment. Thanks man! I subscribed
Great video. Seen a couple of configurations I haven't seen before. I'm excited to try them.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is thorough! Thx!
Great video. Very informative.
Number 3 is one of my favorites.
Awesome choice
Good explanation and review of tarp setups. Thanks and take care.
Thank you sir
I really like the background.
Thanks
Great video big thumbs awesome to see so many designs
pyramid style with 8 by 10 tarp is good but 10 by 12 tarp pyramid is even better
This next design is my favorite
Very good info! Great setups!
Thanks alot
Great video! Looking forward to the challenge videos soon.
EPISODE 1 is this SATURDAy!!!!
I have actually slept under a leanto shelter in a thunderstorm in Texas and did stay relatively dry, about 6 inches of the foot of my sleeping bag got wet!
Great feedback! Its amazing what i simple tarp can do when you need it for shelter
Learned a lot today thank you
Thanks alot. Glad you enjoyed the episode.
How can ANYTHING without a floor provide protection from rain-you do realize that once the rain sheds from the sides it runs all over the ground
Cool and informative...thanks 🙂
ThankS deeply for sharinG...I lovVe thiS awesome video with so many great tipS!!!👍I want to take a buddy fishinG thiS cominG summer and I don't feel like buying a tent to take fishinG as I feel that thiS would be impractical if we only drive out of the city for about one hour!!!👍Your tarp suggestionS are great for my pocketbook too!!!👍My buddy has serious health challenges and I want to make our fishinG adventures very fun for him without having to pack up so much to go out for an afternoon....but with Weather be very unpredictable...I feel Inspired learninG so muCh from you video!!!✌😇🌎🌹🔥🌹🌞🌹🏕☕☕☕
I usually bring a small tent and a big tarp, and build a house out of it. Solid protection from all elements.
Good
Awesome video man keep it up👍
Thanks alot.
This is an awesome video. New sub, and really liked the video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks alot.
I'd like to see some more difficult ones!
Definitely not the video for that. These are all for folks who wants simple and fast shelter.
I have an Arcadia Mongrel 10x10 tarp and after a full week of searching I've managed to find instructions for the "Floating Tent". Thank you! Can you please tell me how high your ridge line is set? It's 10 PM currently here so I'm going outside tomorrow to make an attempt to put this bad boy up.
awesome
How is the version which requires you to hang the center of your tarp to a big branch above using twine called? It only works around trees of the right size but it's easy and offers protection from all sides.
Just leaving work so I missed the live premiere.
You are here now bud! That is what Counts!
Take a shot every time he says "favorite".
Cool nice man
Thanks!
What brand is the tarp with the reflective surface that you used for the bivy tent set up?
Please do show other configurations, that'd be great!
We will work on more in the future
“My favorite” lol
me watching this at 3am after my teacher assigned it to me to watch:
330 am for me now uhgg lol
I have a 26 x 12 heavy tarp, 2 times set up but wind an rain kabosh that. I hope to make a equipment shelter for mini ex, riding mower and 4 wheeler. 8 ft tall. Ideas??? Any direction would be appreciated
Hello brother nice work i just want to know which knot are you using with that vertical wood at time stamp 9:33? 😀
Very valuable, thank you. What tarp size would you recommend? I found a 8x12 for a good price that I could pick up today, is it large enough?
10x10 and 12x12 are my favorite sizes
@@DropForgedSurvival thanks for your reply, it's 22.40 here, got a fire going and time to set it up before the darkness :)
Loved it. How is the dog training going?
Rather well over all
What is the name of that knot you are always using? Looks pretty easy.
Clearly he outlines some very good rules and tips on getting your various tarps...in configuration for nearly any use, you may feel a need for. but let me be very clear on something of utmost importance, and which, indeed...our 'DropForged' here... does support and strongly suggest:
No Matter WHAT type of tent or tarp, what type of paracord or tether, or what type of Knot or Tie-style...you may decide to implement............ Dear god....Please Don't Forget to...................................................."Secure That Bad Boy Down!".
Yes. Definitely keep your shelter secured!
It looks like you are tying the same know each time. Which one is it?
Awesome video. Could you tell me the name of the camo tarp in set up number 8?
The superfly by Warbonnet Outdoors
Which tarp is the camo one you use in the video? I went through all the links but didn't see that camo version available.
That one is my Superfly! Its also down in the video description for more information on it
How do you deal with condencesation?
What knot is that, that you are using for your guylines
Drop Forged'....@ 12:26...you start setting up the 'Floating Tent'. (Cammo-print) Can you tell me 'where you got that (Brand) ..... and what are it's dimensions? Looks at least a 12' X 12'. from what i can tell...it's not the typical 'heavier' tarp material...( looks almost 'breathable'...and pretty lightweight? like 'chiffon' light..the way the wind is whipping it... ha ha!...) anyway...This..is the kind of material i want for my Van-Awning. nothing 'heavy...like a 'thick tarp...and possibly almost 'sheer'...just enough to diffuse the light coming thru. great vids! and...thanks for any info.
Warbonnet Outdoor. Should be in the video description as always in our episodes
Fun
Thanks Tim
What kind of Tarp would you suggest that could withstand high temps from a stove?
Ive never done that in a Tarp before... But I know there are HOT Tents on the Market.
@@DropForgedSurvival Thanks for responding. I watched a video over the weekend of some youths who used 4 small trees like a teepee and used a homemade tarp which they had a small wood stove. I just thought maybe you could suggest a type of material that would hold up best to the tarps heat. Thanks
Thought this was going to be the dollar tree video!
First Episode Airs Saturday!!! Day 1 Footage was over 76 Gigs... Mountains of footage to sift through and edit.
Which knife is that that your carrying?
14:00 what is that tarp material made out of?
Use stakes and make this guidelines shorter. Nothing worse than having to take a leak at night and your guidelines becoming trip wires. Didn't see the us army poncho hooch. Stake the 4 sides of a poncho down and tie a guideline to the hood tie it off on an overhead branch. Used it for years in the army in all weather conditions. Good video though.
What is a good tarp size
Hey droppy....watsup bro??? Props from nyc....( which state you in?
Awesome video bro. My main problem with tarps is they are not very common in my country, at least not the good and light ones. Second problem is bugs 😂 living in a tropical country makes those damn bastards really annoying even with a campfire close burning repellent plants. Any suggestions regarding bugs? Thanks a lot!
Bugnet with your hammock and a tarp! Boom! Also a very smoky green fire 🔥 when you are cooking
@@DropForgedSurvival I'm definitely getting a hammock brother, time to stay off the ground and sleep like a baby 👌 thanks a lot! Pura vida ✌
👍👍👌
I was your 250000 subscriber lol
You better make another tent for doggo
Put them to the test
Ummmm im kind of know for ALWAYS heading to the wild
Ok
Can you do more money day survival challenge
Already on it and editing.
Most of those tarp setups are way too low for me. That bigger A frame with the 'doors' could be doable. Thanks
Can you do a tarp setup just so people can stand underneath of it......JJ... Thank you...
Im sure you can come up with something yourself. Trees, paracord tarp and some imagination
Just do the a-frame, but with a bigger tarp.
2:15 tarp shelter desIGNes
What’s the knife in the thumbnail?
Bark River Bravo Machete
Thx brotha. Thank you for all you do to provide us all with such excellent content!!
Much love from cda Idaho.
Can anybody time stamp me when he used the silver TARP cover? I’m interested in buying that one but I’d like to see it in action.
Ive used it multiple... How much more action are you wanting Cujo?
Since some bad weather is coming (especially where I am), if you have two trees or something on your property can you set it up and see how it lasts a snowy or rainy night? Maybe do that with a few tarps, see how they hold out.
So what's your favorite ground cover solution?
Plastic Sheeting or a Garbage bag works extremely well!
Grabber All weather 5 x 7 blanket Works great too
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍
