I'm not slamming Xscape because they were a talented group but I have a firm rule. Do not remake a song unless you can do it justice 😂. The Jones Girls did such a great job on this song and because they are sister, their harmonizing sounds heavenly. The Xscape version sounds like a group trying to copy The Jones Girls original version of the song. Even Chaka Khan (Rufus) knew Mary J. Blige's remake of "Sweet Thing" didn't do it justice but I'm sure Chaka enjoys the residual checks 💸🤑as she was also one of the songwriters of the song. I do respect the fact that many remakes are done to pay homage to the original. Troop's remake of "All I Do Is Think of You" is a nice remake but The Jacksons' original version was more mellow, smoother, and sadder, lol. Whitney's remake of "I Will Always Love You" did do the song justice because Whitney put her own spin on it. Sorry Dolly Parton 🤣
When I saw them live you could hear the emotion in there singing especially on Who Can I Run T. I was on the verge of crying myself and I don't cry easily.
