Hi from Providence, RI, relationships take humility, trust, the ability to communicate feelings NOT thoughts, unconditional forgiveness and a complete lack of keeping score via a resentment list, true love is difficult because there are two types in the world: givers and takers, anything outside of two givers, it's destined to fail, today, so many people have mental health issues they never address and carry their baggage into relationships, somewhere along the line, the team, two friends, simply implode and it's sad but it's indicative of larger issues, remember: you are not here to make anyone happy, nor are people here to make you happy...that's not reality

Sadly, the last. Couple generations have been conditioned to think that "good music" has to be fast/loud/overly synthesized/hyper-sexual to be played often. It'll take a few true artists to get this presentation style back on track, but they do say that music returns every few generations, so...

Rest in Power to Fred & Maurice White of Earth Wing & Fire and everyone who made Deniece’s debut album what it was and remains to be... TIMELESS! Just think, this album was released in August 1976. I ♥️ you Neicy
You know what, why am I not surprise? That bassline? The arrangement? The instrumentation? That has EWF all over it! WOW I never knew this until I read your comment. Makes it even better!
@@bronxkies can go back to ramsey lewis this is his sound more than maurice's .. go back to that cut that ramsey did and ewf redid. sun goddess. and you will hear exactly what i am speaking or writing of.

What a beautiful voice.
Her voice it just goes up into the stratosphere she is so amazing
I'm 64 and I spent years listening to this album. Some reason tonight, she came into my mind. I love "free". I'm so sorry for this is a great loss. See you in heaven Denise❤❤❤
??????
Deniece Williams is not dead.
Exactly
Minnie is the one that passed away.
Second I saw this comment I had to look it up. Phew!
It sounds so good, it brings tears to my eyes..... Nothing can top the music of the 70's...
MOST550 agree! 😢
Nothing.
Yaaaasssssss! That's the truth!😍
I'm 17 and wish they made music like this still 😭😭
Ok Cutey Pie..1 point for a youngsta with great taste😉😉
There are some indie R&B artists that try to recreate the sound, but the vocals aren't there. One who gets close is Raveena.
@@lavinder11 omg I love herr
@@myobpatton7286 you got a beautiful soul because a lot of young females can't feel good music. Check out Donna Summers
I was 17 the year it was released.
Take me back to the 70’s please…
When I was “FREE”❤️♥️
What an angelic voice 🥰♥️♥️
Love it!!! 🥰❤️
My new son-in-love’s Mom used to play this for him as a child. He and my daughter got married last night 7/29/2024. It was his dance with his Mom and they two-stepped. We love this song, again. ❤❤
Congratulations!🎉🎉🎉
How sweet!❤
Overwhelming since day one
Omg I saw Deniece 1978 San Diego sports arena sing this song. She opened up for earth wind and fire. She had on a white dress that sparkled under a single light. She was breath taking. Ya had to be there. I was spell bound.
Joseph Tyler Wow it must have been great. This song is my forever theme song. Love this. Just got to be freeeeeeeeee.!!!!love her.
Joseph Tyler I live in San Diego in the seventy, went to the arena lot's of time. Saw the J5 there. Great time.
Man... I wish I could have saw her. On her Unsung she talks about how Stevie Wonder was suppose to produce this joint, but he was draggin his feet. So when Maurice White from EWF heard it, he got right on it with Charles Stepney. I was a young boy when this dropped, however I used to jam it afterschool everyday along with Thats the Way of the Wordl. But now my children bump it regularly since their Daddy taught them that this is big car music. Keep bangin'
William Patterson That’s the way of the world another amazing song
Anthony Hinton
.
Whoever produced and wrote this song is a f* legend. AND, they couldn’t get a better singer to execute. I was born in 1983 and this song will ALWAYS be a vibe ❤
Maurice White. Earth Wind & Fire put their magic to this masterpiece.
Maurice White and Charles Stepney
The production feels like it has Greg Phillinganes written all over it. If he was involved I wouldn't be surprised.
Lyrics were written by Deniece!!
Born in 83 too! Also, AGREE
Co-produced by Maurice White, bass by Verdine White. And her amazing voice! Win, win! 💜💜💜
R.I.P. to the GOAT
Yep!, Maurice and them... the Dean team
Damn I didnt know that.
Never knew that Thnx
The producers on this track were Maurice White and CHARLES STEPNEY. Google Charles Stepney. He was architect for the Earth Wind and Fire that you know and love today among many others including Rotary Connection. RIP to Maurice and Charles.
As a youth I played this song for my mom on the 45 turntable. Moms, you broke the mold. I know you smiling from heaven. RIP babe
Still Listening in jan 2021,..Still Magical,...real music has soul and is timeless.

This song popped up in my playlist at the right moment..i just got out of a relationship and instead of feeling dumped, i feel 'free'..finally free from the abuse..this song is so fitting in some way...
Same here...preparing fornt he break...it hurts but I wanna be free!! I NEED to be FREE!
Don't know you, but I love this for you❤
Still listening in 2023! I was just a kid when this song came out. I remember thinking I can't wait to be grown whenever I heard this song... THIS was that "grown-up" song for me!! ❤

Born in 1998, only 21. So lucky to have a father who played these classics around me while I was growing up. ✨ This song is so inspiring as I move into my 20's.
Denise sings like a bird. So effortlessly ...
KRAS 4 Like a bird of paradise...

My grandmother loved deniece and Gladys knight. She played this song all the time. I can see her smiling listening to this. Now I understand the words and why she loved❤ I miss you Jewel (grandma)
Your grandmother had magnificent taste. May she rest in peace.

The 70s were full of gems that had that stardust residue
Her voice is everything. She was one of the ones who could hang w/ Minnie Riperton. Back then, there were no excuses about climate changes, government sabotage, etcetera like these other singers have. This is always gon be my jam. Nothing like some 70's soul.
Deniece and Minnie were both background singers for Stevie Wonder.
Yes Lord
Climate change? ? What did that have to do with singing? I just know Im going to regret asking that?
LaChele fa sho👍
Facts😎😎❤
Beautiful cut. I wish more people made music like this today! Seriously!!!!
I am not sure they know how
Agreed!
Sadly, the last. Couple generations have been conditioned to think that "good music" has to be fast/loud/overly synthesized/hyper-sexual to be played often. It'll take a few true artists to get this presentation style back on track, but they do say that music returns every few generations, so...
No one will top Earth Wind and Fire. They produced this song.
@@marquellascott1225 - That makes SOOO much sense! I love some EWF! It definitely feels like something I could've heard them performing.
I can't say it enough : I AM SO PROUD 2 BE A CHILD OF THE 70s!!!!

I was 17 in 1975 listening to Ms. Williams in small town Kentucky. Incredible memory.
The backing singers holding those notes ! One of my pre night out tunes in '76 .Wages , moped, clothes, and the absolutely best music of any any decade. What a time to be 16 .
1976, the year the angel we know as Niecy took off and musically soared! She took everyone in our barracks at Fort Ord with her!
Paul Kasten You have to give Maurice White credit for discovering her. Both EW&F and her recorded for the Columbia-ARC label.
William Magaw Jr, that is so true! We know Maurice as a huge part of EW&F, but we tend to forget what an awesome producer he was! He knew how to find and develop talent!
I was stationed at Fort Ord in 56 th Med BN in 1980❤️
And Fort Riley, KS too!
Paul Kasten I lived at fort Ord California, military brat. I miss it.
