i grew up in mi and lets just say this is literal spring fever. everyone was itchin for the snow to melt and the cool cars to hit the streets.
first dry roads youd always see someone out having a blast and its all you can hear in the distance usually.
id always loved cars so as a kid i was looking for the first one to jump into. back then it was cool anyone would give you a ride and it wasnt weird.
now it disgusts me people are snobby with the purchase price of their car or its not worth my time its expensive. bought not built they have nothing to talk about it just what it costs.
every time i take my cool car out i get stopped and talked to by atleast one person and i almost sold it because its impossible to go anywhere. but then i was like ya know ive always wanted one of these im not gonna let you ruin it for me. the ppl that arent dbags or jerks or weirdos ill stop and tell em whatever they wanna hear cause ive noticed it really made some peoples day. i forgot about that when i was young and didnt have something fun. i had the skills from 10 on so i always had the cool stuff but didnt know it was cool it was just every day thing. id actually got a few people on their path to having their own recently and totally worth it. nobody wants to learn anymore but i had a few ppl beg to learn from me and that also put me off im like just do it but they have nobody to ask or explain what the how to is even telling them what to do. they know zero car jargon. nobody really taught me but i had the ability to learn well so i always got the your smart youll figure it out from a fucking master mechanic. at 10 trying to rebuild a 4 stroke motor and ive never seen an engine before. he never told me showed me or taught me much of anything about working on them and it made me pretty good at it because i knew that the best of the best knew i didnt need any of that. i took that for granted cause i figured everyone could but ppl get scared i get that. i have a few friends now that literally will take my word over the manufacturer at this point cause i know their car better ugh. but its nice being able to share the knowledge instead of just fix it for me and i dont want to pay you. they want to fix it themselves and i commend that. i dont even want to work on my own cars at this point. i only enjoy building them at this point and thats expensive unless you sell and id rather drive ugh...

Saw your comment over on the HICKOCK45 channel about the value of his dirt and saw your avatar then went here!. HELL YES ANOTHER PONTIAC MAN I am nearly finished with a Gasser style 1973 Grand Prix. 461 11.4:1 310cfm KRE D ports, 588 603 lift 244 252 duration with 1.65 scorpion roller rockers on the Lunati voodoo cam. CNC'd Performer RPM intake, 937cfm QUADZILLA Q JET from SMI. Level 4.5 Turbo 400 reverse manual transbrake from FTI 3000 stall Continental Converter. Finishing the spool Moser axles and 3.90s in the 10 bolt and removing bumpers as we speak. Gutted for weight I am looking through the rotted floor pans with only a pair of plastic racing seats an a few toggle switches but about 810 lbs lighter running without the hood. Will have videos soon. Look up stock 1973 grand prix burnouts for some shots the day I drug it home for $400 a few years back with the stock low compression 400.

@@superduty4556 also th400 reverse manual is pointless when u can run the 4L80 plug wires to ground (-) and then run the 12v (+) wire to switch ign and shift it manually with shifter. Whatever gear selcted is what it is in. Takss 10 min to setup, way less $$$$ and still have an OD gear with lockup converter.

Somebody that's been around alot of Cars you listen for differences.Like In American Grafitti the race at the Stop Light the Black 55 and the Yellow Coupe. The 55 I read in that race had a 427 with a 4 speed in that race.A Friend that hasn't been around alot of cars was watching it with me.I asked him if he could tell the difference and which car had the big block and which one had the small block? I put it put and said now liaten.I said you hear one is really rapping out and one a deeper thud? He said ya I can hear it.The one really rapping up is the Coupe because it's a small block. The Big Block in the 55 Has the deeper thud sound. The one at the end was a Complete Different car.It had a 454 From a 1970 Chevelle LS6 Engine but had like a 488 gear or something really low. When they took off and the One that rapped really tight really quick was the 55.I read that was the actual sound it made
