- A Los Angeles judge sentenced Eric R. Holder Jr., the man convicted of gunning down Nipsey Hussle, to 60 years to life in prison after hearing testaments to the immense cost of the killing of the hip-hop star and neighborhood leader.
Holder Jr., 33, was found guilty of the 2019 first-degree murder of the 33-year-old Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist outside the clothing store Hussle founded, the Marathon, in the South Los Angeles neighborhood where both men grew up.

It's obvious you have never done time big time in this era of getting and doing prison time. Your statement of getting 60 yrs. in prison being a wonderful sentence is as about as absurd, dumb and pathetically stupid as you must be to say, believe and to even think that without ever trying to serve that much time and also being black, in any prison in America. My feelings are people who have never done prison time and those who have like myself manytimes some yrs.ago, starting firstoff, before my adult times, with being at a youth offender facility, knows that just about like everything else in life past, present and still today in the outside world, racism still exist in the prison systems of America. And that my people, besides someother matters and convicts there to deal with, if you are black some will make damn sure being 33 yrs. old and getting 60 yrs. in prison, will most definitely make sure your stay there won't be a wonderful sentence, nor a wonderful time doing that kind of time at any age. I'm now 67 at 19 i did 3 & half yrs. of a 7 yr.sentence for arm robbery at a youth offenders gun camp, meaning some of the correctional officers were armed, trust me, the level of racism as a black man i experienced from white racist Correctional Officers on a almost and everyday daily hell. And that was before the Fair Sentencing Act. like today at some prisons. Even deserved time or more at 33, going to prison with 60 yrs. and as i said, doing it in a white man's prison, there is nothing wonderful about having and doing that kind of time perioddddd.

I had the immense pleasure of working for Nipsey a few times when he came out to the east coast on tour in DC. I spent a lot of time with him in the VIP dressing room and on stage. He was a good dude. Always made me feel welcome and extended a huge amount of gratitude for my whole crew for taking care of him. He was a great guy. This dude can rot in jail. He killed a gangster that actually cared about lifting up his hood.

So many foul things evade my mind but none of it will bring back that amazing King. May those 60 long years be the pain, hurt, x10 he has casted on this Kings, family, friends, Neighbors.. etc. Praying God lightens his family's grief and give them so form of peace, so they can heal and move forward and enjoy their lives
What does retribution bring, he does not deserve to be punished. He deserves to spend time learning from his mistakes. He needs therapy just like the rest of the world. We spend time internalizing things and letting external forces control our actions. Eric Holder was a sad case of that. He let his jealousy overpower his humanity and that’s something he needs to be forgiven for. He does not deserve to spend 60 years in jail where eventually he will be a sitting duck and marked for death. Progression can’t be made through punishment or beatings; It is only manifested by one’s own self to change. Prison is apart of the punishment reward scheme our rulers have given to us to adopt. Prison shouldn’t exist. These people need to be in nature, how many of them were born and raised in the inner city and never experienced what it was like to be all alone somewhere. We’ve gotta give people a chance to grow and you championing some punishment reward scheme is going to continue funding the prison business. More and more men that look just like Nip and Eric, locked behind a wall without a chance to make things right and truly learn.
And before you try to rebuttal me they can still have armed guards with rubber bullets just in case someone tries to escape. I still believe that there should be mandated custody but instead of prison these people should have around the clock care. Nutritious mineral filled foods, nature walks, retreats, fresh water, decent boarding. Around the clock access to a therapist, cell phones with limited/monitored (for code words)access. They deserve private showers, REAL libraries with ancient history/ self-help books. The CO’s in prison do not need to wear police uniforms, in fact there should be no such thing as a CO. There should be enough therapists I to occupy those roles. If we put an emphasis on mental health as a society we wouldn’t be here in the first place but this is what Eric Holder and millions of others need. Almost like a rehabilitation program and not a punishment program. Who are you to be the judge and arbitrator and send someone to hell on Earth? You’re not anyone to be judging anybody, neither am I. We are not God so let’s stop acting like it, retribution is not our job to do.
