- Nipsey Hussle joined me on "Good Day L.A." on November 15, 2018 to promote his album, clothing, and community work.
My colleague at the time, Leah Uko, had just done a profile of his efforts to transform his neighborhood.
Little did we know at the time that he'd be dead just a few months later...killed by Eric Holder on March 31, 2019.
Hussle's legacy of community work lives on...as the Marathon continues.
It was an honor to conduct this interview on FOX 11 Los Angeles.

There’s no way Nip should be gone. I never met him, but I’m still fucked up as if he was a friend or family. Very hard to accept both Nip and Kobe being gone. I know there’s a reason for it all but, damn, could’ve gave us at least a few more years of them both. RIP!
Man, they both much so much to me. God keeps them alive although they are not on earth. Legacy lives forever.
As a kid I literally idolized Kobe because he was so relatable to me, thus influential, and I didn't know better. Then I as a young man Nipsey was the last person I considered myself a true fan of for much of the same reasons, but I grew out of fanatics years before their deaths. Both of them passing brought up so much frustration and humility because of the rush nostalgia. I grew up and looked up to them at one point, was/am still inspired by their dedication and growth.
I’m still fucked up that he’s gone. We needed him to stay.

I remember i was in downtown LA back in 2008 and his team was handing out his mixtape Bullets Ain't Got No Name Vol. 1 for free to try out. Nipsey went from selling mixtape to making himself one of the biggest hip hop name since tupac through hard work and determination. He was a def a real one and made a big impact to his community.
His Aura and his Energy was just wow 😮
