    Sweet, found this video in 2022. Back in late 80's I purchased a V65, 1100cc giving 116 horse power.... I was more concerned with the tires that came stock on the bike when traveling over 100 miles an hour. Which was cruising speed for that bike, all day... I ran METZELER M888 Marathon Ultra Tires... they fit the stock rims rated to over 150 mph and heavy loads, 550lbs front and 900+lbs rear. Felt saver on high speed tires, plus there were truly round and balanced... and expensive.

    I own one. It will do 130+ all day long. Haters gonna hate. This thing is a cruiser till you hit 6000 RPM, then it turns into a sport bike(ish)! More than a few occasions I have dusted guys on sport bikes.
    Displacement is proportional to the number of cylinders. A 750 twin only puts out about half the horse power. A typical 1200cc puts out 100 - 110 HP. The Magna puts out 80 HP. and is generally lighter than most of those bikes.
    Total sleeper bike. Unless you are running something with an inline 4, this thing will kill it! Hands down!

      i own a magna and any bike with a inline 4 will destroy the magna in top end. I raced a 2004 r6 at a 60 roll i beat him up to about 90mph and then he caught up and left me.

    I own one of these bikes 1996 VF750 and don't doubt for a second he was hitting 130. The fastest I got mine up to was about 120 or 125 on the interstate before mortality kicked in and I eased up. My brother was on a 1983 V45 750 and he flew past me and there is no telling how high he got up to. The '83 was the fastest production motorcycle for it's time. Magna's are full on beasts of bikes with a rich legacy. Read up on them kids...they're awesome.

    Buying myself a MINT condition 1999 Honda Magna next week. Just tried it the other day, immediately fell in love with it. Literally crawling out of skin waiting for next week to come, when I can meet up and buy it.

      I do love it. I've had three weeks and have put about 500 miles on it. I live in the north east. Its gotta be warm enough and not raining, im a fare weather rider haha!
      Bike is amazingly comfortable, takes turns better than any cruiser I've tried. Has way more pull, especially with the high end torque curve. Hitting 8,000 rpm's, it almost feels like a turbo kicks on.

      ***** I bought myself a 97 Magna in March, and have put over 5,000 miles on it so far this year! I love the bike... it's the most versatile motorcycle I've ever owned... plenty of power (you're right... 8,000 RPMs and it feels like a turbo charger kicking in!), handles great, and looks awesome. This is why I've always loved Hondas.

    I had a 1995, yellow. It was great but not so much on a long ride. I did a Saddle Sore 1,000 mile in one day. It just lacked the comfort I would like for so many miles. I even had a Corbin seat which was waaayyy better than the stock seat! Yea, it would do 80 down the interstate all day with no problems. Then one day some 18 yearr old pulled out in front of me and that Magna just could not stop that fast!

    My daily bike is a 1996 Honda magna vf750c. I've had it to 137 and had room left. You can rev these bikes out to over 11k rpms. But I never saw a 130 in this video. I've wiped the floor with all sorts of Harleys. The bike is ridiculously fast for what it is because of the gearing. But I never saw 130 in this video

    well made. But I have my own thoughts about mods. For example. My vf750 is totally stock. Even has a windshield (midsize), and uses 91 oct fuel. And I have made 125 mph runs side by side with some friends on 600cc sportbikes.
    Plus we all have made some drags with good results. The magna runs nose to nose with regular 600cc´s. I recommend just tunning up.

    About to own one, a 94' Yellow , absolutely looking forward to it...but 130 is what my last bike, an R6 did in the blink of an eye...I'm hoping the comfort makes up for the difference in "get fast", and I kind of love how it just goes, sounds, all that good stuff :D reading comments like "I blow away sports bikes"...well let's be real a a sec, you might pull on them in 2-3rd if they're stock, with inexperienced riders, but facts are facts, and even my 600cc R6 left just about every bike(that wasn't a crotch rocket) I ever lined up to with lengths between us when it comes to 0-130. My R6 was difficult, bitchy, and far too aggressive to enjoy the ride unless you're racing, so I'm hoping that + comfort will fill the gap in performance I might not even miss oO I have to admit, the mid range on these is pretty fkn brutal :D

    The speedo does in fact show it hitting 130mph and the bike is very capable of doing it, I've done 120mph+ with a rider on the back in my V45 Sabre 750 (same engine) and it has many many more miles on the odometer than this one has. My only concern is the amount of traffic on public roads when travelling at those speeds, really should save that kind of driving for a track day.

    I own a 95 Magna with well over 140k miles on her now. And shes still pretty, yellow, chrome and black with a Corbin Gunslinger seat. Yes, the Magna was designed as, and IS a Cruiser, but anyone that has actually ridden one know that with the V4, 748cc, 4 valve, overhead cam, they will rev to 9700 rpm and jump up faster than any 900 Cruiser of its time period, and will run away from a Valkyrie. They are quick! When the Corbin seat was added the height was less than 29", very comfortable sitting at a light. Hanging the motor low and having the quad exhaust means sparks when the cornering becomes aggressive, but its a Cruiser right? Yes, but... What I hadn't learned yet was the difference between the typical V-Twin "Cruiser" and this V4 "Cruiser". The difference, in a word, Agility. I always wanted to see a larger 1000+ cc, V4, with drive shaft and more ground clearance "Cruiser" exactly like the Magna. More power, more weight (cross winds can be miserable) but keep the same power band and have a great all around bike that turns heads like its little 750 brother. The only problem I had was people telling me they loved my "Harley". One final point, 120 mph with no wind screen "may" be possible but it would be miserable. 130 mph? Who cares?!? It's a Cruiser!

    First, I don't think this is fake. Magnas really are crazy fast. However, their speedometers are known to read a little high. If his is like mine, it's about 6% or 7% fast - so 130 on the speedo is really about 122. So probably not fake, but maybe a little inaccurate.

    I played it in frame by frame, and it looked more like 127, 128 maybe. Doesn't matter, it's perfectly fine to roundup that close, speedo error can go either direction :) either way 130 isn't fast, it's opening the door to fast, but, the thrill isn't always the speed, is how it gets there that's the most fun, and this bike seems to do it effortlessly. It's a cool vid, altho I don't like 100+mph videos just for "look what I can do" flex, when it's a bike I enjoy or are interested in, my selfishness kicks in and I start smiling :)

      +Olav Premium gas makes the difference? I'm not sure of the make up of premium gas, but I would assume more lead? --meaning it's more combustible? I'll have to try that when I take mine out in the Spring. I cannot wait for it to get warm again!

    • @SaintOlav
      @SaintOlav 8 років тому

      +Mathew Nunley They do not put ANY lead in gasoline anymore. I am pretty sure they stopped that well over 50 years ago. Lead is poison to pretty much all mammals.If his bike is the same. As in same bike, same gearing, same wheel/tire size and same exhaust then the reason his loses power around 110mph is probably the air filter or fuel issue.
      A good Air filter is priority one.
      As far as I know.. (the internet does lie) the only thing higher octane fuel does is ignite at a higher temperature/pressure combination. So if you engine is hot and you are getting near the RPM limit your bike may lose power if there is pre-ignition pinging going on. Meaning your fuel is igniting before the spark comes.The goal of higher octane fuel is to prevent that.Not all machines or vehicles benefit from a higher octane and using it when you don't need it is a waist of money. I run premium in my 1983 vf750f.

    • @mathewnunley8433
      @mathewnunley8433 8 років тому

      +Olav I was going to research before ever sticking any other fuel into mine. There is no way I would try that without reading about it first.
      Does your bike have a rough start in 1st gear? In first gear mine bogs down a bit. The start is a bit rough or bumpy in other words and I am not quite sure what it is. 2nd gear clears that up as well as revving to higher rpms.

    As a proud owner of an 82 V-45 I could be impressed, yours has to be a later model which means mine's a bit quicker and faster and revs higher, but that was insane risk. You let your never overcome your common sense. Even if I say it's your hide, the people you're blasting past don't deserve the trauma of watching you die. Early evening light is the worst possible light to judge speed and distance. Last year I found myself at 3 am on the freeway and noticed no lights in front of me, nothing in the mirror, nothing coming the other way. I came to a complete stop, looked around, then set it free for about a mile until I came up on cars I couldn't identify merging from another highway.. I just can't tell you how fast because mine has that dumb 85 MPH speedo. We have fast bikes to ride them fast but in that traffic in that light it was stupid. Sorry.

    i have the same bike, you are nice to yours i ride the living shit out of mine.lol. was hoping you were going to get on it like i do mine, anywhere between 60 to 75 mph you can downshift to 2nd and ride it out til 85, first gear does 55. the fastest i have gotten it to was about 143, with good 91 octane 100% gas, my feet on the back pegs and me trying to be as aerodynamic as possible. thats anywhere between a 94-03 magna vf-750c

      @@jackel142 you remember it being a lot faster because you actually did it
      watching it 1000s of miles away doesnt pump your brain full of adrenaline.....
      i fell off my bunk bed and broke my arm when i was like 8
      still remember falling for waht FELT LIKE 30 seconds
      yet i know how fast ~80 pound objects fall...... and it doesnt take 30 seconds to fall 5 or 6 foot

      He's right, the guy hit 130 for a second or two then he dropped it down to ninety five. You can see the speedometer clear as day at the beginning, so you know where the needle should be, it was all the way back at ninety five. This guy wasn't doin no 130, he did 130 for two seconds and then chucked out.

    • @Nikolai_The_Crazed
      @Nikolai_The_Crazed 9 років тому

      +Hannah Babcock I'm sure if he meant to use kilometers, he wouldn't have used miles per hour in the title. Start the video and quickly pause it, you'll see the speedometer, look at where 130 is, remember that spot. You'll see that he does hit 130 for a few seconds, before dropping down to 85-95mph. So the title isn't a total lie, he does go 130, for a few seconds, the rest is just blurry as fuck cruising at 95mph.

    • @DaPurppzz
      @DaPurppzz 9 років тому

      +DinoDude15 No shit but you're forgetting the point. You said the op was right when he wasn't. The op said that he NEVER went 130mph and only 130kmh and we are saying he is wrong and he is. No matter if he went 130mph for a sec or a minute he still went 130mph.

    That is too fast for public roads, with people on them! too much debris and too much chance of of someone changing lanes or you screwing up ! Take to the track or something, I like my insurance low and my fellow drivers safe from crazy people.
    Magnas are fun and fast though, but you need to control yourself or find someplace that there is no other people. like the salt flats or an abandoned airport / hwy.

  • @KingShit3336

    Dude, your speedo is way off calibration! At 100mph+, you'd be passing cars alot faster than you were.. Hell I think the minivan with its brake lights on almost gave you a run for your money.. 😁 😂 😂 😂

    • @KingShit3336
      @KingShit3336 4 роки тому

      And having owned a V45 Magna before, I can promise you, it isn't capable of 130 mph (stock) and at higher speeds (80+) your running the risk of developing "death wobble" in the front end, which will have you eating pavement in no time. I speak from a 90 mph crash experience that I was lucky to have lived through.. Shit, my V65 Magna (1100cc) is barely capable of hitting 130mph!

My last .magna was 1995 750cc 5 speed trans if Honda had put the 6 speed trans in the 94 and upper year models they would hi5 140mph plus 8f Honda came back with a 2021 version 110 up drive shaft they would be the best once again. Magnas ride on go baby go
