    Thanks for video. I use TM TPR rudders as you do. They need a bit of tweaking in eack aircraft via response curves. I highly recommend flying Aerobask Phenom 300 on VATSIM vs TBM (which i own) this allows one to fly all sids and stars in a jet with your g1000. Turboprops are a bit limited on VATSIM and SIDS/STars. I use 3 monitors with air manager touch/knobster.

      Thanks for watching! I have the phenom - its alot of fun to fly! I've been waiting for XP12 to enjoy it more. Ill have to give it a try as I wont be doing most STARs IRL in a 172 lol. Is it updated for XP12 yet? I havent seen many addons updated then again its only been a few days.

    I think the daytime overcast are a big improvement. The RVR adjustments and ceilings are better than msfs. I practice ifr missed a lot and rvr/ceilings are very important. I still think the rw/ifr/training crowd will use xp over msfs, especially the VATSIM people. I have msfs hangered because i can't stop the ctd. Probably my fault. Competition is good. Keep up the videos. 3 monitors is the only way to train. Good luck.

      Thanks! I was hesitant with the triple monitor setup vs vr but Im really enjoying it as it engages more of your peripheral vs what VR is capable of. Sorry to hear about the CTDs - my MSFS, especially in the lastest Sim Update 10 beta has been rock solid. It wild how when I browse the forums theres such a vast difference in experience with MSFS for alot of users. I will be putting msfs through its paces more once some of my fav aircraft get updated. The stock "X1000" is a little sub par for me. The TBM/SR22/Phenom/AFL172 ect G1000's seem worlds better.

    Great video, very informative, thanks Chris. Have been an X-Plane fan all its life and looking forward to X-Plane 12. The only flight "SIM" out there. Subscribed!

      The notion that XP has better flight simulation is just a notion. It may be valid in the past but XP12 seems still uses Blade element theory. This flight dynamics calculation tech is pretty old. It maybe relevant years ago but not the case anymore. Haven't found CFD visualization option. P-Factor with Perf. Data on MSFS more accurate there. MSFS on the other hand has Boundary layer theory and CFD, in which you can actually see the simulation and simulated surfaces on the airplane. XP maybe use 5 simulated surfaces on an airplane and MSFS uses hundreds of simulation surfaces in an aircraft, thus making it more accurate and realistic.
      Here's the CFD simulation in visual and data form. And I would like to see XP to provide their simulation data as well.

      Unpopular opinion - I agree with you. I did a few flights in the new XP12 and I honestly feel like theres 0 ground effect or too much drag. The real 172 can take abit to slow down coming in over the numbers, 5 knots too fast, forget it, youll soar past the 1000 foot marks. XP12 cut the power, a near instant reduction in airspeed causing you to just smash right in to the ground. I was very disappointed to see that as Austin is always talking about the flight modeling. As for the visualization, I believe there is a setting in XP but I've never turned it on. Ill have to poke around and see if I can find it. All things considered, I do see potential in XP12 and it's certainly nice to have options. Will it ever be more visually appealing than MSFS? Probably not. A good training tool - sure. Although, a few more quality payware hit MSFS (I'd love a real study level TBM 900, SR22, and G1000 172) combined with future updates and the reworked avionics packages across the board from WT, I'm going to be hard pressed to want to fire up XP. Thanks for watching!

    I have a very similar setup... I fly the 172 Nav III as well. I think it's a GREAT upgrade, but evolutionary rather than revolutionary. BUT... That said, that's how it will really be from now on I think. This is a simulator, and as a CPL about to take my CFI, it just became a better one. Great content man!

      I've got the Realsimgear G1000, G5 backup instrument, some switch panels, etc. Doing a 95% representation of the 172 NavIII for students.

      Nice! This sim has certainly kept me sharp. I've had some breaks on flying due to life, weather ect, and sticking with the home sim and networks like pilotedge/vatsim I'm able to hop in and go on instrument flights without issue. Your students will get alot of value out of it!

    I have a triple monitor array as well... and I also noticed a surging in the frame rate that I have never experienced before. Strange.

      In that case I'll assume this is some sort of bug and not something unique to my setup. Ill have to put a post up on the XP forums to see what they say. Thanks for watching!

    runway will always have water puddle, it is a must...

    • @av8rchris
      @av8rchris  2 роки тому

      I like the effect and I think it looks good, it just needs to be randomized more so on approach it doesn't look like a pattern of water puddles.

    Have any of the other planes spawned in the ground? Do you think it's just an issue with the add-on and how it's currently coded?

    • @av8rchris
      @av8rchris  2 роки тому

      So far just this addon. Theres a ton of random bugs on all the other 3rd party aircraft I have so well have to wait and see.
