"Lyrics:
It wouldn't be as much fun written down" an amazing musician and has a great sense of humor XD
Hello random people from the future, yes we are still listening to this in *[insert year here]* Have a lovely day!
2020!
@@bsbx Almost 2021!
@@richtofen4888 omg i replied to your comment like a few months ago, it's weird recognizing you haha
@@bsbx Hahaha, I think I’ve commented on nearly every Gotye video there is, so that’s not really shocking :)
Hello. Folks didn't know. I knew and I didn't know
"So what kind of music are you into?"
"Art."
Yeah baby
Maybe that's how I should answer those kinds of questions from now on. I always have trouble responding sincerely yet succinctly whenever someone asks me what music I listen to.
heads up, art pop and art rock are actual genres.
so, if you _believe_ in genres, gotye does art pop.
🙌🏾 Amen to this!
If I become a director, the opening credits will have this song. Of course, the movie would have to be about interdimensional pimps.
Have you become a director? Wanna know...
A year after the last guy and I'm also asking if you became a director
A year after the last guy did, I ask you whether you became a director?
5 hours after the last guy asked if you became a director. Now the real question is, did you became a director?
You have 69 likes. I wasn't willing to take that away from you.
I seriously don't understand why your music isn't more popular. Other than the mainstream stuff.
Oh the irony.
People don't appreciate music that isn't brain-dead.
My hunch is that he couldn’t get the samples cleared outside of Australia for the international release.
Cu Adfeng same reason artists like aurora & death grips don’t get played. Their not mainstream enough. Which is fine, if you find your groove you found your groove.
@Violet Weaver, too extreme? Well, alright. Social engineering is making mainstream music today awful.
This guy is pure genius.
"Umm.....here's some more music"
3:36
'never heard metal sound like that before'
Just found out this was sampled from Plan 9 From Other Space :) That's an interesting source you got there Gotye
This guy is a genius. The most underated artist I have ever seen. What a masterpiece
The thing i love about gotye is how much he experiments with different genres. He does reggae with “puzzle with a piece missing” and “state of the art”. He does the 80s pop peter gabriel shit with “night drive” and “giving me a chance”. The 60s soul/motown with “learnalilgivinnlovin” and “i feel better”. And this track sounds straight trip-hop, almost like something from J Dilla’s “donuts” album. Hope he makes solo music again someday.
A really bizarre, off the wall song. I love it!
me: dafuq did i just listen to?
me: ...
me: *hits repeat*
Art
There are two versions of the album: the original Australian version and the international version, where A Distinctive Sound is replaced with The Only Thing I Know. See also the wiki page on Like Drawing Blood.
Good breakdancing song.
More magic from a true artist. I wish this were available for download.
Buy the album. It's really good if you like this stuff. If you live outside Aus. then you get the awesome "Only Thing I Know" in it's place.
Oh I love this song so much. But I can't pick a favorite song by Gotye because they're all artistically charged and deserve their own praises. Amazing work and I would love love LOVE for you to come back. Us Gotye fans are still out here waiting for ya. :)
I've always loved this song.
Well the bass really seemed to drive this kind of trance dance for me...hot and heh heh cool at the same time. Gotye you never fail to please, so I have to keep pressing that like button!
This man is a true artist.
This will teach them how to groove... :)
well you taught me! I love this song! Its my jam :D
2:50 - 3:36 this has officially been my alarm sound for 3 months and i'm not ashamed
The first time I heard this song it was in my car with mega bass sound activated, I could really feel the vibration it was amazing.
Я к своему сожалению не владею английским, но боже как же меня заряжает эта музыка, она наполняет меня энергией жизни и это здорово.
WHY ISN'T THIS ON SPOTIFY
This man is an ARTIST
Gotye... That was... AMAZING!
I enjoy this more than I should.
2:07 owner of a lonely hart by Yes?
***** Coz that is what they also do. Oh Goodness,I am old, but they are such a new experience, every song just works, and [when a flood happens and grabs you way] --that feeling---me away. Rushes, flings, sucks, grabs, pushes, An uncontrollable feeling.
I absolutely love this song. Does anyone know why it wasn't on the international release? I'm sad it's not on spotify because that's where I listen to most of my music these days.
feel ya 100%
My hunch is that he couldn’t get the samples cleared outside of Australia for the international release.
I recommend not using Spotify to listen to most music.
@@k-leb4671 why?
@@k-leb4671 why?
what an underrated musician. He's incredible! He deserves a much larger audience!
A Cool (as ever) journey through sound playing with samples and traveling.... very very original...
Gotye will get copied by so many.
I just hope in 10 years he doesn't sell licenses for covers as the songs will be diluted
Well 9 years in the future and the only thing they copied was one song which made them into a crimgey Tik Tok mess. And also a brazilian class suit, but that, that doesn't count.
3:02 is my favorite bit.
This will teach them HOW to groove.
Love the intro.....!!! Soulful and lush
I know all the..."lyrics"...man I love this groove
What an exceptional album
Gotye you rules!!! Like Drawing Blood is a great album, maybe my favourite from the 00's.
Please, upload also Boardface!
I want to dance to this.
All the time! :)
do it, do it
I absolutely love this track❤
How come this isn't on Spotify?
In fact I was given the files for this album (sorry I haven't bought the album yet) and those files have a complete track order than anything I can find about this album
Hella samples, hella samples
reminds me of art of noise.
Reminds me of DJ Shadow, nice!
My friend introduced this to me because I like Jet Set Radio. He thought I would like this too. He was not wrong
Always delivering the juice.
"Eventually I can get it together" too good!
I adore this track
Ah, I love this song.
i love it
Love this song.
I LOVE this!
I love this song
wow! Love this.
This will teach them how to groove
All right, let's get aquatinted
(hello there)
Music from the bass perspective
This is a journey into sound
A journey which along the way will to bring you
New color, new dimension , new values
And a new experience - stereophonic sound
(and now ladies and gentlemen, our feature act tonight)
(Stop!)
(Get it, get it, get it!)
Come on, Come on, Come on
That was the harpsichord
Now-a-days, most homes seem to prefer
The television or radio, to the harpsichord
But you still hear the piano, all the time
A flute couldn't do that
These are some of the difficulties
With being in this position and talking to you
And just wanting really deeply to relate to you
And touch you - not physically - but with vibration
(ha ha ha ha)
Never heard metal sound like that before
The drummer is the heartbeat
Everything comes from him
The beat, the time, he is the heartbeat
It's just like a heart pumping blood
To the rest of the body
He is the heartbeat of a band, a group
He is the heartbeat
I think around midpoint in my career
I started to experiment with sounds
And then it became very important to me to
Get a distinctive sound
Get a distinctive sound
Get a distinctive sound
Maybe if I spend more time practicing
Eventually I can get it together
Um - here's some more music
All right! Here we go!
Now were going to use a little power kicks
Like I showed you before
We're going to chuck-em real good
A-minor to F
Just like all the heavy metal guys use, okay
Lets get some of that smoke just like on MTV
Yeah! all right!
Music - all right
Yeah! all right!
Would you say that again
Yeah! all right!
Let's play a note
Yeah! all right!
Here's some more music
Yeah! all right!
Get a distinctive sound
Get a distinctive sound
Get a distinctive sound
Get a distinctive sound
We've covered a lot of ground, haven't we?
If there's a part of our story you don't understand
Why don't you turn this record over
And start playing over again
Over again
Over again
Keep it up ^^
i love this song it's funny
I am absolutely in love with this, is it ok if record my shitty raps over this amazing track I haven't had track give me chills in years I love this
Dod you do it?
Gorgeous break, makes me wanna scratch an itch...
The ADHD in me stims SO HARD with this song. I'm so sad he hasn't made more music since 2011 😢
im diggin it cool
amazing
those drums though
I'd say definitely similar styles, but this song came out before Kutiman's stuff. And indeed, awesome!
It's a very clever medley of differing styles. Totally agree with JesuOtaku lol. Good for those evenings as well when coming in from a long night out.
This wasn't on my Like Drawing Blood album...
It was only on the Aussie released version of the album. (Check out the wikipedia article about this album.)
Jesus christ this is an absolute tune
A real music genius in this generation..

i look at the comment and see all comment loving this but what good about this song
It's not music it's art
The layering and sampling is just masterful!
It makes you want to get up and dance

This song is soo much like the Jet Set Radio album :P it's pretty fantastic.
Oh my gods, the description, lol.

crazt how everyone knows them from somebody that i use to know
i want the bizarre videos!!!!!!!!!! amazing song
This is Cinema for the Ears :-)
Groovy
nice tune
ME TOOOO I MISS THE VIDEOS :'(
For a good journey, smoke a good joint and watch Klanglos - Acid Trip while listening to this. You're welcome :)
This is like a less creepy and more structured Revolution 9.
i was searching for this comment
stereophony sound... That's from a music from the 80's, isn't it? I mean, the one I heard is a resampling, the original must be way older than that! Were you sampling the original or the 80's?
This song and “Did You Call Me?” by Lukaz just hits different in early 2022. Times may be tough but everything going to be okay in the end. I hope everyone is doing well. I love you 💜
This sounds quite inspired by Kutiman (Thru-You)? Awesome any which way!
Jesu why aren't you making anime review videos anymore? T^T I loved those...
Somebody I used to breakdance with...
Cool
This isn't on my copy of Like Drawing Blood... was it a bonus track or something?
I don't have this one on the "Like Drawing Blood" CD and Vinyl I found in France ! :(
It was only on the Aussie released version of the album. (Check out the wikipedia article about this album.)
cool
Gutted its not on spotify :(
Same...
