Binging with Babish: Brisket from Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

  • Passover approaches, and thanks to the magnificent meal made by Midge Maisel, we've got a great excuse to whip up some Jewish BBQ on the show. Slowly braised to tender perfection in a delicate balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors, this brisket outshines even charoset at the Seder table. And that shit is delicious.

There's this Yemeni bread called "khaliat al nahl", It's to die for. It's made in this honeycomb formation and is filled with cream cheese and glazed with honey, It's very rarely found in most bakery's here in the middle east and isn't ever made as good as what you'd find in an Arab aunty's kitchen. For the love of God make it, I know a lotta folks (if any) wouldn't have asked for it but believe me, you nor the viewers would regret this incredibly underrated bun.

The first time I watched the show, I shared the same viewpoint. After rewatching the show twice, I've come to see Joel as an important part of Mitch's life. He made a stupid decision because he couldn't live with being a joke and now he and Mitch are seperated, but their bond is strong as friends. Besides, I liked him better in the manager/protector role anyway :D

That's good. I can imagine family members or family friends could get naggy about that sort of thing. Like they wouldn't participate, but for years everyone would hear, "Idontevenknow didn't keep the Sabbath. Of course, I didn't. I'm god fearing."
Though, I don't know much about Passover and if there is a lights out policy for that holiday as well.
I'm glad you and your family had that togetherness. It's probably really hard on you guys not having that physical closeness during your holiday, but the digital and spiritual closeness probably helped with the edge.
