Steak and Butter Gal, any idea how I'd do on carnivore if I just was hospitalized with my first small bowel obstruction from adhesions from previous abdominal surgery?
I was NSNG or keto for the last five years to control my type II with no meds or insulin.
Now apparently fiber/ veggies are not my friend to avoid future obstructions, so I basically have carnivore foods remaining. But I am experiencing constipation, not diarrhea.

11 days in. 59 year old woman. 110 lbs, so no weight to lose. Quit alcohol 6 months ago, and that was easier than this. The diet is a tad difficult, as I lived on huge piles of veggies with olive oil and a small bit of lean meat. Quit cold turkey and went carnivore. Already my many body aches and years long back pain is 99% gone. Did you know that clean towels and flowers and perfume actually smell? I didn't, because for 20 years I have had chronic sinus issues that kept me from smelling ANYTHING because my nose was swollen and non functioning. And my stomach is never swollen anymore after I eat. Ever. Yet, yesterday was Easter, and at the get together with family, I was met with disinterest and glazed over eyes as I spoke of my new venture into a new life and the benefits thus far. They ate homemade pizza and desserts while I ate a plate of ground meat, 2 eggs and butter. I wanted to dive headlong onto that Easter candy, but I refrained. Onward towards health and happiness!

I have been carnivore for almost a decade and keto for almost 14 years. That said, I don't buy the stance that all plants are always toxic to all people in all doses forever. As Dr. Chaffee tells the story, he had a bad reaction (massive depression) from an herb crust on a roast. So, maybe he needs to be that strict. Doesn't mean everyone does. I can't deal with nightshades so I need to stay away from them strictly. Doesn't mean everyone does. People who have severe auto immune disorders like Mikhaila Peterson also need to take it to the max in order to be healthy.
People's bodies are also able to heal to some degree over time. I can now tolerate foods that I wasn't able to a few years ago. It is not a lack of discipline and I am not treating myself to cake. An occasional avocado does not take me down from my optimal level at all and it tastes good and has good fat in it. For some people avocados cause problems. A strict elimination diet let's you find out where your individual problem areas are.
I agree that sugar, alcohol, fake stuff like sweeteners and MSG, and plant babies (grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes) are the most toxic and that everyone is probably better off without them entirely. I really don't think a few berries are "poisonous" to most people now and then. Even wolves eat berries. Nobody tries to revoke their carnivore cards for that.

Some plants need to be eaten (or have their fruit/seeds/etc) eaten because that's how they propagate. If animals didn't eat them, they couldn't spread. Animals eat the fruit, and poop the seeds out. Now, most of the fruits we have available are worthless nutrient wise because we bred for size and taste not nutrient density, but if you look, you can find what you need. Humans have been hunter/gatherers since the beginning. We gathered plants. I think we were better off before we domesticated those plants.

I unintentionally lost a very extreme amount of weight in a short period of time.. end stage veganism. Nearly died. Intuitively ate carnivore and have started the healing. It’s been a few months and some days are better than others, but eating carnivore is no doubt what has saved my life. Although not ideal long term, in a situation like mine supplements and digestive aids can help.
Anyway the social thing is it... my dad just naturally eats 90% carnivore. My mom thinks that I’m insane and have an eating disorder and keeps trying to force me to eat “regular” food and go to an eating disorder clinic where I know they will stuff me with poison 🤢
The real eating disorder was 10 years vegan... it’s an epidemic that destroys your brain. Yes it is that bad. Please end the vegan nonsense. Don’t end up like me.. it cost me my sanity, relationships, life savings, and nearly my life. Recovery is hard but eggs and bacon is the only way out. ✊🏼

The back of her neck and upper back were red and … it just looked very painful. When she began carnivore and started eating butter and eggs, her body recognized how depleted she was, and she ate a ton of butter and eggs for 6 months (I’m sure she ate other animal foods, just… she said her body just needed the butter and eggs. She advocates listening to your body and eating till full. It can change. Just be flexible and adapt.).
She also mentioned that for her, having a bit if cold or frozen butter actually removes any sugar cravings she may get.
She has beautiful skin. When I saw her psoriasis photo, I was pretty amazed at the transformation through carnivore.

What a great interview! Between your channel, Dr. Berry, Dr. Baker, Neisha Berry, Dr. Boz, Dr. Cywes and a few others I’ve been learning and living carnivore for just over 2 years. I was very obese, had horrible skin, chronic migraines and dismenorrea, all greatly improved and 75 lbs down from where I started. I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 15 years ago. Just recently I was taken off of Biologics because my rheumatologist couldn’t argue with my labs. My inflammation was low enough and controlled enough that that toxic medication was not something I qualified for anymore and my labs were done 6 weeks after I had taken my last dose, so there was no way he could attribute my improvement to the drug. I’m still on one toxic medication and a couple of over the counter pain meds, but carnivore has helped me heal so much. I’m so grateful for channel’s like yours and interviews like this. Going to look up Dr. Chaffee now to follow him too.

I’m no longer Carnivore. After contracting the virus that shall not be named at the beginning of last summer and being basically bed bound for 3 weeks I lost a dramatic amount of weight. My iron levels tanked. No matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get my energy levels back up, I was unhealthy skinny and waisting away. I have gone sort of ketovore/low carb high fat again. But I’m finally getting my energy back and gaining back some muscle and I’ve regained a few lbs. if I could have I would have stayed carnivore, but there was no way I could eat enough fat and meat fast enough to start healing again after being so sick.

They don't even sell plant products whatsoever, so I naturally transitioned to a carnivore diet. Biggest thing I noticed is my craving for any kind of carbohydrate completely disappeared, and mind you I used to be the biggest sugar addict you've ever seen. I even went and bought some grapes, and couldn't even finish them, they just weren't that satisfying anymore. Some ground beef, a couple bites of raw cheese, some raw liver and warm bone broth is incredibly satisfying and satiating, it's hard to imagine going back to anything else.

That’s my goal. Not yet dreaming of 135. I’m 5’5”. So if I can keep my caregivers on track w this diet & reduce my coffee & cream, still skeptical but we’ll see ! Wish me success ! She is now 2.5 and ive Still been eating the same way, but I’m still holding onto 25 pounds from pregnancy! Today is day 2 on carnivore, hoping to see some positive changes!! I’m still confused as to why keto stopped working for me but this is making a lot of sense! I’ve also noticed my nose has been dripping constantly the past few weeks, it’s clear but it seems never ending so really hoping carnivore stops that as well 🤞Wish me luck!!!

Hi Dr. Chaffee. I have been a carnivore for about a year now. I lost 50 pounds and I am close to my optimal weight now. All my blood results have improved tremendously. At 16:19 of this video, you mentioned sweeteners will spike blood sugar. I use a glucose monitor after eating and drinking different foods and drinks. I use monk fruit sweetener with erythritol. This sweetener does not spike or raise blood sugar at all. I tested my blood many times after drinking coffee with monk fruit sweetener. I even tried testing 30 min, 60 min, and 90 min after drinking the coffee. I usually use 2.5 teaspoons. This sweetener is a 1-for-1 to real sugar. So you should tell your audience that monk fruit sweetener does not cause a spike or rise in blood sugar. Thank you.

I like your questions about discipline. I would not say I’m a disciplined person. On any other diet I’ve quickly given into cravings and not succeeded. Eating meat has always been my preference and so eating only meat is the easiest thing in the world and when I allow myself to eat what I really wanted and not limit it artificially (ie stopping eating when I was still hungry) I stopped craving things all together and it’s taking no discipline to do this diet at all.

I am 54 and have struggled a long time with anxiety, depression and weight. I wasn't always heavy, that didn't happen until I was about 25 and went on medications for depression. Before then it was hard for me to gain weight, I always thought I was too thin. But it's been a losing battle ever since. Started with Atkins way back in the day. From my personal experience with trying to find the balance and trying to keep certain things like stevia, certain spices, alcohol and COFFEE. I was trying to be Ketovore and only having very limited results and constantly struggling with cravings. I think it does really boil down to addiction, and the insidious part of that addiction is people who aren't aware of their addiction will never address it at all much less conquer it. I think we need to ask ourselves the hard questions. Why we are so unwilling to entertain the idea of giving these things up, or why we feel that it is such a treat to have them? These are the results of my last 20 year journey of trying the Atkins diet and noticing a difference and experimenting with Keto then trying to find what does and doesn't make me feel better and finally now coming to Carnivore and finally realizing this is what my body needed all along because the different is night and day. Working on kicking those addictions to the curb now. Thank you guys for making this information available and helping us to see why are results having only seen limited success.

First off, love this channel and really like Dr. Chaffee. I'm an advocate for the carnivore diet and like so many others, it has changed my life.. however I do think the comparison between coke, meth and heroin compared to food was out of touch. Saying 1 cookie isn't worth it isn't what people who are addicted to these foods and sugar are thinking, and for those people it isn't just one cookie. They get a chemical response of happiness and it turns into 10, 20, 30 cookies. Pizza for dinner, donuts for breakfast. It's all day, constant. For some people it's the only "enjoyment" they get. Let's not forget the marketing control these big garbage food companies have over the population, especially people who are not financially well off. I can go on and on... It's a bigger problem and a harder fix than just saying "stop eating poison"... Anyway, maybe I'll make my own video about it. Thanks for having so many on to share their different view points.

Anyway, she's got a degree in plant something or other but won't see this stuff for what it is. It's frustrating. 95% of her diet is plants. Veggies, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds...the rest is fish and sometimes eggs. She's extremely unhealthy with lots of issues but keeps trying harder with eating "healthy." Very interesting and inspiring info. Thank you for sharing. I'll dive more into Dr. Chaffeee's work. In the meantime I have a question about carnivore and endurance sports. I'm in my sixties and doing endurance sports virtually all my life. Once(in the eighties) the credo was; fill up the tank with carbs as the best fuel.
Those days I also followed this concept for marathon running and triathlon. But it came at a price. Pre-diabetic, gout, allergies, bad skin etc. Then the change came. More Paleo, Keto. So cut on the carbs, but still a lot of plants. Cutting the carbs to a pretty low percentage made these symptoms decrease a lot. Next was Paul Saladino's work. So more animal food, and less plants and still very low carb. How do you see animal fats and proteïns as the fuel for endurance sports. Nowadays it's mainly cycling. Rides up till 2-5hrs. 3 to 4 times weekly. I like to hear your thoughts about this in general and also about the fuel during the excersize.

I was on it for three months and sat down to play "The Butterfly" after not playing for awhile on Penny Whistle. Well, the thought that you have is "this won't go too well at first.". My main fear is sustainability of this diet, not because of willpower on my end but financially as the government here is hell bend on forcing everyone on an extreme vegan diet by any means possible, including the planned introduction of punitive taxes on meat and dairy, and the planned banning of farm animals (which would obviously drive the price of meat and dairy through the roof, making them unaffordable for pretty much everyone including me).
