In this video, we explore an alternative way to view and live life-one in which speed and productivity are not always at the center of everything, and instead, a tempered and calculated approach is taken toward success, play, and leisure.

it shouldn't have got to the point where life itself is just about doing more. It only leads to anger and burnout, leaving no time or life energy for anything else
Is life a gift from God or is it a curse from Devil?
life is what you make it out to be so make it well
Life is not about doing more..
Its about getting better in what ever you doing from day to day

I've spent countless hours just sitting with my dogs. They don't have to do something all the time, they are content to just be in the present moment. They've taught me a lot.
Yeeh🎉
I heard the pets thinks humans are immortals because they always go before humans do.. :(
Yeps dogs are great at enjoying the small things! I love dogs!
Take the dogs out for walks, or just walk the dogs all day long.
My turtle loves basking/relaxing
My favorite days are the ones where I have no obligations. I wake up. Listen to the birds chirp outside. Brew a nice hot cup of coffee. No tv. No music. Just the birds and random noises outside. I know it’s important for my overall life to do this from time to time. I cannot stand a busy, stress filled life. 🧘🏻♂️

Productivity is very rewarding.. up to a point. The most important thing is find that sweet spot
💯
I think productivity is rewarding to the point where you are doing everything you have to do effectively, so that you are not wasting much time with procrastination. In my experience, time you spent procrastinating feels even more stressful than actually doing the work without accomplishing anything, and it takes time away from actually enjoying yourself and the moment
Productivity by definition is positive, the more productive you are the better. I think what you mean is that more time & energy invested does NOT equal productivity if your time and energy are being misapplied.
The way we live is a reflection of how our economics works. Each day, more has to be produced, faster and more efficient. But we are no machines, neither does our luck depend on just productivity.
People hate it when other people are happy and not trying so hard. The call it failure and encourage you to think about your future. Whenever I find peace doing so little, someone always interrupts my peace by saying, "Why don't you try to find a better job," or "You should start thinking about your future" and whenever I tell them I feel great, I don't need to think too much about it somehow they feel offended.
Yes
I have been called lazy or been told "don't be so ambitionless" whenever i told them about what i want to do for my future
And that is sad how people are conditioned now to always just chase the future and not live it
Just like me fr
Most people find doing things, taking on challenges, improving themselves very rewarding. I tend to think there is a balance and doing nothing can be taken to far (like anything).
The is a time place for all of it.
Let them be offended. We live for ourselves , not for them and their so called judgement. 😉
🎉🎉🎉😮
It’s all about balance. Focusing on one aspect of your life too much will have repercussions eventually if not right away.

@@dylanmcallister3843but the comment kind of made me realize where I was going wrong.
However I don't know about balance but yeah I realize whatever I choose to focus on, decides if I'll be productive, happy, upset, angry or whatever the rest of the day...

So much of me was the cat, in the beginning I didn’t even know it was about a cat but it was so relatable I knew I’d appreciate it.
There is no concept of time, past, or future except for in the minds of humans living in industrialized regions of the world.
Imo there is only the infinite moment of now.

When I first watched this the title was “Productivity Is Tearing You Apart”
Now it’s “You Experience More In Life By Slowing Down, Not Going Faster”
And the thumbnail is changed the third time lol
I honestly don't mind him doing that. He puts a lot of effort into his videos and just want his work to be watched by as many people as possible
That's normal and understandable. It's nothing really, and changing thumbnails and titles to get as much attention is done by a lot of youtubers (even mrbeast)
You can give UA-cam 3 diffrent thumbnails and titles and youtube checks which one of them gets the most clicks. And then automatically picks that one.
@@maoam-im7lc ohh... so it works this way. Didn't know that
This is shocking that most people need this explained! It's obvious from psychological point of view, yet most people still pursue the fast lifestyle!
The first half I was all like, woah that sounds just like me sitting around looking out the window observing my surroundings, the nature and all the people running around while I'm taking it slow. I can so relate, wow awesome etc. Then comes the little twist around middle of the video and I'm like, oh... i guess that's who I am then.
We can only start to think this way because we are becoming a society of abundance. It wasn't always like this. Hunger and deprivation, scarcity and insecurity, etc... were the rule up until even one or two generations ago. Everyone needed to work very hard just to survive. But work has become a little like food: we as a species evolved to overeat and gorge on food whenever we could find it, because you never knew where your next meal would come from. And this was an approach that helped us survive. But in this recently evolving society of abundance, it is leading to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, etc... We have to consciously and deliberately learn not to overdo it before it makes us sick. Work is the same.
True
What should i Google to read more about this?
@@tonyp.bahama9368 It's a personal theory. I must admit it's not based on any deep psychological study. I am not even sure how such a study would be designed. But the similarities are uncanny. From personal experience and observations, I am confident that insecurity, both financial and personal, play a big role in breeding workaholism. Of course, ego probably also plays a role.
this seems to be true for many people, thank you

This made me chuckle a lot because I can definitely see my cats thinking like this.
Human life doesn't have any purpose, a purpose and motive are things reserved for tools, don't look for purpose, you're a human not a tool designed to do something speific for the rest of your life
Ive been having a shit last few days and have been trying to replace my pain with stuff so i dont focus on it. Then i watched this and it made me sit with it and reflect for just a few minutes while i sit right next to my cat. My phone is a demon...
Describing [my] life, in a movie soundtrack, chill Fight Club narration style, witha dose of chill muzik!
"I never thought I was doing anyone a favour by bringing children into the world. With people as cruel to each other as they are, it’s a terrible proposition. The best of lives are sad and tragic. The best of them. My general conclusion is that it’s not a nice thing to do. The world doesn’t need it. The kid doesn’t need it."
-- Woody Allen
This story beautifully reminds us of the simplicity and peace that comes from living in the moment, much like our feline friends. It's a lesson many of us need in our rush-filled lives, proving that sometimes, doing 'nothing' is everything. 🐾
Animals are always in the moment but they can't Self Inquire.....seek higher self.
But a meditative owner can definitely be blissful with his dog.
“Not having children derives not from dislike, but from love too great to bring them into this world, too limited, too vain, too cruel.”
― Michel Onfray
That's dumb. You perceiving the world as limited, vain and cruel is a big self-report on who YOU are, not what the world really is like.
💯
@@dwightk.schrute8696 wtf are you talking about?
@@Zach-cb3so Projection, and the inherent assumption that if you're useless, your children will also be useless.
If you're feeling incompetent to raise a child at the most privileged moment of human history then just say it. No need to project your insecurities onto the external world.
@dwightk.schrute8696 haha. Ironic you bring up projection. Are you denying the things he mentioned exist in the world? Who are you to determine if someone else's reasons to not have kids is a valid or not?
That was so connecting.
This made me tear up for some, good, reason.
Literally watching this while making assignments, and little chores. But i cannot taste my own freedom at once without worrying them I can't even buy my own quality time.
Being a student and also a middle child gave me a very difficult situations.

A lovely observation story from 'cat'. As a child we had many cats, i dont like them however. But i do have respect for their indomitable nature. May we all find our indomitable nature for it is a wonder full life 😊

Wow, those first 30 seconds of the video are a 100% accurate description of what I was doing earlier today. It's like you read my thoughts. It's quite... unusual.

Wow i thought he was talking about me and how not in touch i am with my life , he was actually talking about the cat. Am i happy? i don;t know but i do know it is in fact peaceful
Indeed, who rescued whom?
How funny. When I was a child, I always wanted to be a cat.
Cats can have a little introspection as a treat.
tomorrow is always tomorrow, today is always here
Time you enjoy wasting is never time wasted.
It starts with controlling attention (which is what meditation is - a bunch of techniques for controlling attention). Once you have even a little attention you become aware. And one of the fist things you notice is we all spend so much time thinking about the past or planning the furture. We miss where the real experence of life is and that is.... the present moment. Be like the cat or dog. Live in the now.
You should share this with all your friends. Meow !

Caring is better.
Damn I wanna be cat 😻🫠
A couple of weeks back me and my partner were sat on the couch, on our phones, both in very trance like states, and I snapped out of it for a minute and noticed my kitten sat there just kind of staring at nothing, a whole wave of guilt washed over me as i all of a sudden thought about life from her side, looking at her humans who are shut off from the outside world.
We humans can get lost in our little phone world, so if your reading this, put your phone down for a bit and go show your beautiful pets some love and attention ❤
We are all alone.

wow. i miss my cats.
Sounds like me when im hungover
I feel like the cat watching the humans 😂 But also watching life around me. Sometimes I don’t get the ‘stuff’ that people go and look for to do out of fear of being bored. What do you mean ‘bored’? Life is happening right under your nose but you’re not aware.. you’re distracted.. you are missing the miracle because you have this notion that just being present and observing is ‘doing nothing’ and that’s ’boring’. You’re overstimulated.. the whole human creation has become an overstimulated creation numbing us for the nuances and subtle wonders of life itself. Life isn’t a DO-thing. Life is happening, whether you do or not..
