Blues facial expression seemed so at peace and trusting. He didn't show signs of being nervous at all with you, Leslie😉
The way he leans forward in anticipation when she's about to throw is chef's kiss.
Yeah, they're buddies! 👍♥️
If you look closely, you can see his anticipation of you throwing the peanut, his mouth open slightly just before you toss it he knows what you’re doing. How cool
I would love to have a relationship like this with a bluejay! 😊
Raw peanuts in the shell are their favorite.
@@grandmabear2840yes’
@@grandmabear2840you got that right 😊
I have a relationship with a blue jay I named Tina and her husband name is peat 😊 it’s really easy to make a relationship with jays
"You're My Boy, Blue!"
Lesley, you are truly the living incarnation of Mother Nature!
Absolutely! 👍♥️

The blue jays who visit my back yard have been getting a lot of peanuts thanks to you, Lesley. :D
They aren't catching them in mid-air or eating from my hand, but whenever they see me out on my deck they'll either perch in a nearby tree where I can see them or land on the deck railing. When I throw a peanut for them, they'll watch until it hits the ground, drop down, pick it up, then fly away with their prize. Sometimes they don't fly far, so I get to hear them in the tree trying to crack open the shell.
Always a pleasure our beautiful Canadian Bird Whisperer
❤❤❤
His trust in you is a testament to your patience, persistence, and kindness. 💙
The camera quality is amazing! Blue Jays are such pretty birds, cool to see them close up. 😍❤
99% sure it is a smartphone camera, 100% sure it's a camera with a smaller sensor. You can tell from the depth of field (the background isn't that blurry). There are times when smartphones are the best camera to use!
@@WhistlesToAnimals oh, nice. Thanks for the info. ❤
Love how blue raises his crest and ruffles his feathers when you say good boy!
Smart and patient. He also seems to understand not only human vocalizations but also human gestures!
Blue is terribly handsome.
Blue the blue jay bird
Blue 💙
This is soo cute Lesley. I wish I had a relationship like this with a Blue Jay 💙🐦😊
I just love watching you interact with your bird friends ☺️ you are such an inspiration !!! I am building some relationships with my jays here - I shake the tub of peanuts and I hear their little noises. They swoop down so fast that it's like they think they are stealing them 😂😂 And of all things - I now have a Red Bellied Woodpecker who is doing it too! And crow babies came with parents today - wow!!! Thank you so much for the joy you have brought with all the fun videos and education you share 😊
I love that he comes when you call. He is so trusting of you. His expressions are priceless. He waits so patiently for you to find that last peanut ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Blue knows the action word "Catch".
Thanks for sharing a moment in the woods with you and Blue. I needed that.
Blue is so sweet. I'm always amazed how he come to his name & catches the peanuts!! It's like you hand raised them. Thank you "Bird Whisperer" for sharing your fine feathered friends 🌬💋 ❤️💖💕✨️
He was excited to see you and flashed his CREST when you made happy sounds 0:42
What a sweet Blue Jay! I feed my Stellers Jay every day, but they have never become tame. Still, they're fascinating to watch and have living in my yard. 🐦
Blue is so sweet and very patient waiting for his human Momma to find those precious peanuts.
I've got a family of 5-6 blue jays that are in my yard every day and I put out peanuts for them on my deck. Now that its summer I hang out longer to see who shows up. I don't know them by their markings yet, but I've notice that one of them will pick up several peanuts before he or she chooses which one they want, every time. And another seems very interested in me, in that he or she (I think a she but not sure) will often perch closer to me than the nuts are and look at me, and will also fly very close to my head on her hiding dashes or on the way back. I'm hoping that this is a start! Today the first jay to get to the peanuts looked very nervous about seeing me and took a while to finally take one quickly so I'm sure that's yet another one.
Just adorable! Since we moved south from Chicago to NC…I don’t see Blue Jays anymore..and haven’t gotten comfortable with the local crows! Enjoy your friend, Leslie - he’s wonderful!💕
Do you have feeders? They're around believe me! Year round residents from Murphy to Manteo.
@@mc12358 ….yes, we do…but just for the fly in crowd and two for the hummers. Because we have the occasional bear wander thru, most recently last week, I have to bring the feeders in Every night and I can’t handle traipsing around the property to collect more than three! I do have cardinals galore, finches, woodpeckers including a pileated pair that recently appeared, wrens, juncos and sometimes bluebirds. And the crows. Wish there were owls nearby..I miss their hooting at night, which we had in Charlotte. 💕
@claudiamiller7730 that's funny because I had a pair of Pileateds at my feeder yesterday! I understand the bear thing. Had one bear just walk off with a feeder and I haven't seen it since. So I do take all feeders in at night, fortunately it's a small space and doesn't take too long.
Oh yes we live near a lot of swamps and hear Barred Owls almost every night. Sorry to hear you're missing your owls!
He is so precious beyond words! 😊💙
Wonderful video, I had a pet European Jay ( rescued as a chick from a cat and hand reared ) for nearly seven years, she was incredibly tame intelligent mischievous and beautiful. She’d chuckle, flap her wings and raise her crest whenever she saw me each morning and she’d accompany me on my paper round and was well known in the area. She was free flying and only locked in at night and after a bath ( she’d bathe till she was soaked and couldn’t fly till she dried off ) for her safety. She’d disappear for the same 3 weeks every year ( I assumed it to be the breeding period ) but always returned, thin and exhausted but happy. That was 30+ years ago and I still miss her today. 👍❤️
💖Thank you! Beautiful…
Blue is so cool.
I was watching one of my big boys anting himself in the sun several times this afternoon.
Boy Buddy Blue is such a wonderful lovely bird and makes me smile so large! 🐦❤ P.S. I was at my friends house yesterday again and saw the Inky look-alike on the brick wall and stopped everything and told her that she looked just like Inky and she joyfully beeped and bounced which made me so happy! 🥰❤
I love this so much!!!
💙💙💙🩶💙
Bluey blue.🥰💕
❤❤❤
You and your work is just amazing. Happy long weekend
I call all of mine Blue. 😁 I have 6 to 8 of them every morning. Waiting on my fence. 🥰 I cant imagine them eating out of my hand. But they know me.
I had to give up hummingbirds to have them. I do love having them. I'm not in the country, I'm in a suburban city. I don't have a tree in my yard but my neighbors have trees on each side of my fence.
I feel for them all with these fireworks going off every night. 😔🙏
Lesley I always look forward to your videos, especially with Blue and Sweet Girl! 😍🥰Call me crazy, but my Blue Jays here have been following me through the community and even landed next to my car while I was walking toward it. Also a couple of them fluff up their feathers, just like Blue did in this video, what does that mean? 🐦🐦Hopefully it's something good since I feed them peanuts and bird seed!
Blue is the best buddy anyone could ask for
'Yeah we're buddies :)'
🥰🥰🐦
Hey, it's Mordecai from Regular Show, lol!😂No, but in all seriousness, the blue jay is a stunning creature.🤩🔵💙💠🐦Besides it's obviously beautiful blue color, it's just fascinating and majestic in general.😀😄
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always 🐦👍🤗
Love watching Blue play catch a peanut with Lesley 🥰. Blue Jays are such smart birds. I just learned that not only do they remember where they stash their nuts, they also watch squirrels and remember the squirrels stash their nuts too.
True purity in the form of nature where there is no phoniness or agenda. How beautiful.
Thank you for sharing, Leslie.
Blue knows who he can trust! Blue Jays are one of my top 5 favorite birds. Every time I hear them talk out in the wilderness, I just stop and smile. 😊❤❤❤😙
I been feeding a group of Bluejays for a few months. All of a sudden 1 Blue jay stayed near me and followed me around my yard and was eating peanuts right next to me. When it got dark it sat on my window. Didnt leave. I think i have a wild pet Bluejay now. I love them.
I do this with the Blue Jays. They love peanuts.
Blue is such a big guy. I think he rules the roost around there.
Blue Jay's are so beautiful, I wish we had them in Wales
Big and healthy looking dude
Gosh he's precious.
Amazing. He adores you as much as you he. ❤
Blue is adorable.
I'm pretty sure Blue was one of the very first birds I saw on Lesley's channel. He's definitely Lesley's friend for life.🙂
I love Blue!! And I love that you've spoiled him 😄 He'll just sit there and wait for the peanuts instead. He catches them so easily... so fun to watch! Much love 💕
You never disappoint! Thanks Lesley!
It’s amazing how a Bluejay will catch anything you throw to them! Cochise, does the same thing!
That's so cute. I've never seen a blue jay get that close to someone ❤❤
Delightful symbiosis with Nature's offsprings ❤
Blue is obviously sooo cool~👍
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
Thanks so much, Lesley: so many miracles.
He’s beautiful. Thank you.
Cute video of Blue hanging out with you Lesley! Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖😎👍JP
Wow. Love it!
The patterns on the back feathers remind me of stained glass. Beautiful birds
You definitely ARE the Bird Goddess...this is just beyond cool.....💗💗
I’ve got a family of blue jays that I’ve been feeding peanuts to. I note recognize the adults, and the male is more trusting than the female. He will grab the peanuts from the table with me about 5 feet away. She usually needs me to be further away. It’s pretty cool to recognize them - I don’t think I would have been able to without seeing your videos Leslie.
They best parts were when the fledgelings were basically fully grown, but still begging for food. Feeder is right above them, and their squawking at moon and dad, who fly up 2 feet, grab a seed or whatever and feed it to them. Haven’t gotten them to take from my hand yet. Blue is pretty awesome.
If i would choose a partner in life it would be someone like you loving and caring ❤
My Jay lands on my Shepards hook, he'll trumpet sometimes, more likely his typical daily call. Translation peanuts please!! 😂
I love my Blue family 💙
Blue waits so patiently for a peanut, when other nuts are available! I love the relationship you have! He comes when you call! My blue jays seem to come for any type of nut I’ve put out for the squirrels. I had to move my feeding area away from the house, so they take the peanuts into the wood beyond my fence, instead of into the trees around my patio 😢 I used to love to watch them cracking open the peanuts just a couple of meters from me.
We had two blue jay friends when we lived downtown; Fluffy and Zippy. Yes, Fluffy just loved to fluff up when dropping by, and was very people-friendly to us, taking peanuts from my hand. Zippy was smaller, and I'm thinking "the less gregarious mate". Over 5 years, I learned a lot from them, and one time, Fluffy came in the house! I shut doors, opened one window for light, and sure enough, Fluffy flew towards the light and all good. :)
At the new place (3+ years), there's a family of 3. One is HUGE, and has a very pronounced "EE-OO" sound, as I call it. We're making friends, but it takes a while - jays are very cautious.
Thanks so much for sharing your bird lore and adventures. xx from Nova Scotia
Always relaxing. Always entertaining. Thanks Lesley!
Sweet! My human friend is here with my food.
Good appetite!
Oh this was a touching video. I love your relationship with Blue. Thanks for this special treat.

Playing catch with a blue jay seems so amazing!
Wow, only one Strike in catching the peanuts, not bad! It is amazing how well you communicate with birds. Blue Jays make a lot of holes in my lawns but I still love them. Thanks for sharing another beautiful video.
Love seeing Blue react during your visit Lesley. Very beautiful moments to share.
I love my backyard buddies
"'Murder' I want 'Murder' Ms. Lesley." 🐦 😅 Cool video Lesley.
The crow's little cousin! We have few hanging out here in the backyard. Yeah, they love peanuts
Remarkably beautiful short film. Perfect backdrop and, of course Blue a true piece of work. 🙂
💙💙💙💙💙
He's a patient boy.
How nice to have a Blue Jay come your hand. Only have ever seen that once in around here east of Toronto. I have had woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees and recently Red-winged blackbirds and a Red-bellied Woodpecker. Always such a joy.
I love Blue and you.
Your videos are so beautiful L! Thank you. Its make me change my mood of sorrow. I take care about the birds sounds too. I really appreciate your time to do those beautiful videos.
This is just amazing to me. All my jays fly away when I go out.
I buy Grapes and let them turn into big plump raisins and they love um. bluebirds are my favorite
PHENOMENAL!! 😂😂❤🏴
Found some peanuts in the shell today to pick up for the Blue Jays in my area, they've been coming down and getting the hazelnuts I've been putting out for the little chipmunks and I don't mind. I feed the birds, and now even feed the chipmunks and squirrels.
Very cute! Thanks, Lesley!!!
Blue is gorgeous.
Blue is very smart.
BEAUTIFUL! Love Blue Jays ❤
Lesley---you are amazing...I want my Blue Jays to take a peanut from my hand so bad ...I stand outside near my peanut feeder and hold a peanut way up as high as I can hold it....I have a huge pine tree a few feet away and they sit on the branches so close I can almost grab them but they just wont take it from my hand....they come pretty close but thats it...I remember the feeling when a Chickadee landed and ate out of my hand...I felt like a million bucks...one of my wife and I favorite shows is Heartland ...you remind us of Amy ...have a wonderful week my friend
Wow what a cool little friend! Blue is gorgeous 💙💙
That was fun to see Blue again. Thank you for sharing!🙂
Your videos/cinema influenced me to start feeding the birds in the yard. I fell in love with the blue jays. They are so beautiful and intelligent. I put an unsalted peanut in the shell out every day a few times and I think it's a couple take them and come back to check during the day to see if one is there. I also put them in the feeder, the blue jays check there too. They are so beautiful.
