I buy living butter lettuce from the grocery store all the time for my rescue white dove and for my sandwiches. And I will replant the roots and they grow and I do give them to my dove

I do this for my domestic bunnies. They love it all including the when they bolt and flower (Romaine) I use a city picker for the container.

Great video except I would say is that a food safe plastic container? You should really only grow food in HDPE2, 4 or five. 😊

You go back and forth between feather meal and bone meal; but only saw you put bone meal in; but you talked about feather meal during that. Sorta confusing, please explain

Thank you for your comment. So sorry I said the wrong thing when I first mentioned the fertilizer. It is hard to do two things at once planting and talking. Lol Feather meal as I explained is a nitrogen product which helps with greening and growth. Bone meal makes things flower so for leafy greens I avoid using bone meal because I don’t want the lettuce to flower which makes the lettuce bitter. So sorry for the confusion and thank you for pointing that out. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
