Really interesting! Castlevania Judgment is a topic I want to cover in more detail in the future, but weather it’s canon or not doesn’t seem to have a definitive yes or no answer. It was still produced by IGA so I personally consider the details and character interactions genuine. Funny you mention that about Reinhardt, I was actually informed about him being a decent of the Belmont clan during the making of this video. Him being the main character of Castlevania 64 I decided not to include him, but he’s still absolutely worth highlighting as an obscure Belmont. Really interesting character, the Castlevania 64 games are some of the few I haven’t played yet. I’ll get to them one day lol. And wow I had no idea about Simon Belmont III! And with the failure of the Reaper of Time, Galamoth went to the IGA's Canon Timeline at a time when Dracula would be further weakened as a last resort to usurp the title of Dark Lord/Maō, which was in 1797 amid the events of Symphony of the Night. That is, the Galamoth that appears in Symphony of the Night is the same one that appeared in Kid Dracula (So much so that the Galamoth defeated in Kid Dracula has its wings ripped off, which explains why in Symphony of the Night it has no wings) and Castlevania Judgment makes that link. And the link with Gaiden Timeline (the name of this timeline was given by IGA as a reference to Japanese name of Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, Akumajō Dracula - Mokushiroku GAIDEN: LEGEND OF CORNELL) was due to the inclusion of the character Cornell in the game that fell into the Time Rift before the events of his campaign in Legacy of Darkness as a way to bring this timeline back.
I don’t see Sonia Belmont as being canon, it conflicts with how Alucard doesn’t really rethink his stance on hiding away until after Symphony of the Night. The whole idea of Dracula and Belmont being connected was used in the alternate timeline of Lords of Shadow
Yeah Sonia Belmont isn’t canon to the main timeline. With how Legends plays out it’s more of an alternate reality like Netflix or Lords of Shadow. It would be very interesting to see what would’ve happened after tho 🤔
But that’s what I like about it : It could make a good alternate universe story. It would totally change the nature of how Alucard is. It would be unlike Vampire Hunter D or Canon Alucard because he has a bloodline in the Belmonts which is what he has left, and a duty to protect and fight with them. They would be all that he had left of Sonia. It’s stated in the Manual for Legends that Alucard is a mysterious orphan boy that grew up knowing Sonia, and him knowing Sonia as a best friend makes him pretty different from canon Alucard in how he grew up, as he is implied to have had more of his life with humans and outside the kingdom of Dracula. Sonia and by implication others who are human and not Dracula have been part of his family and world. (I’m presuming Legends Alucard had someone who adopted him).
A friend of mine knows a lot pf the Castlevania make your own adventure book, the one with Syd Belmont and from what he told me, like the characters being more like the children of the heroes, Belnades being a cousin, some futurr elements in the series came from this adventure like the Devil Forgemasters originated from this book.
8:10 In the fanfiction series titled The Perfect Castlevania Timeline by GamerThumbTV, the story of Order of Shadows is continued in Castlevania Chronicles, in which Simon (in that series a son of Desmond) kills Dracula and destroys his castle.
I only knew about Sonia and Christopher... funny enough that in Otomedius there's a Belmont as DLC in the form of Kokoro... funny how other Belmonts are introduced like parodies or references, etc.
As a kid I was all about Castlevania Legends linking the Belmonts & Dracula in such a seemingly poetic way, also lending credence to the prejudice the Belmonts faced. I even wrote a bit of fan fiction connecting Sonia and Alucard further together. I was not happy with Iga initially declaring it non-canon and to this day have a bit of prejudice against Lament of Innocence’s retconning (though I did completely beat the game with all characters; it was a fun game). As an adult with more appreciation for nuance and less contrivance, I’m okay with the non-canonicity of Legends, though as a game of its time I think it’s good and doesn’t deserve near as much dumping on as it receives sometime. Plus unlike most game media, it actually kept the anime style in America, something that wasn’t always happening up to the turn of the century.
It would make an interesting alternate universe take, and yes, the whole idea of Alucard being Trevor Belmont’s father is interesting. Even moreso is that rather than run on his canon idea of “I cannot continue my bloodline”. It’s “I must protect them because they are what I have left.” IMO, it’s a more interesting concept for what you could do in some short story than what we got with Lords of Shadow. I don’t hate it, but it’s just that what came before it with Castlevania III and Symphony of the Night just didn’t really back it up. But I would still not mind some kind of Alternate Timeline where Alucard is the father in the story to the Belmonts or a kind of “Guardian Angel” to the Belmonts because they are his children.
Very true! When they were making Order of Shadows it was never intended to be canon, so I believe they just wanted to reference Lament of Innocence as much as possible without really considering the events in the game. Considering how important Rinaldos daughter was in motivating him to help Leon and other hunters in Lament of Innocence it would be kinda weird if he had an unnamed descendent somewhere. Maybe he starts another family after the game? I’m curious what happened to him after the game in canon now lol
Out of these I only know of Sonia and Victor. And I thought I was a huge fan of Castlevania, but you man, you're on the next level! Impressive how you always manage to find new hidden stuff, keep it up!
Kinda disappointed Resurrection never happened, but I bet Konami just decided after how poorly received the N64 titles were (especially since the Legacy of Darkness was just a remake of the 1st game they bungled) I guess they just decided to keep the franchise 2D for a while. Pity since I likely would have played that one since I found the Dreamcast controller more comfortable to use than the N64's monster.
I'm pretty sure Mina Hakuba's name is a callback to the original Dracula novel, with the main heroine being Mina Harker. And considering reincarnation is a thing in Castlevania, perhaps Hakuba is Harker's own reincarnation.
I forgot to mention this when I saw this earlier, but I have to say I am interested in learning more about that Super Castlevania IV book. Seems like a very unusual and interesting obscure bit of the series's history, even if the story is so divorced from the games.
Awesome! You’re the only one who’s shown some interest in it honestly haha, but I think I will delve into the subject sometime in the future. It’s quite long so I’d want to do the story justice
I make it an effort to use a variety of different music in my videos especially ones coming from games I enjoy outside of the related topic and series, especially niche ones that I want to share with more people LOL 🤝
I didn’t even know this was a thing until now! Since this video I’ve been made aware of a couple more Obscure Belmonts… might have to make a part 2 sometime in the future
I wonder if you have seen or ever played Boktai. It's another franchise by konami, Kojima has involvement in it, and has many nods here and there to castlevania.
While it's never stated he's a Belmont, but he very well could be. And that's Vampire Hunter from Yu-Gi-Oh as a part of the Vampire Archetype which in of itself, is a gigantic reference to Castlevania. But like I said, it's not stated if he's a Belmont or a Morris, but since he holds what we can assume is either Vampire Killer or the Hunter Whip, we can assume he belongs to one of those families.
Tbh the Vampire Hunter Yu Gi Oh card looks like what I’d envision an evil/corrupted Leon Belmont to look like. I need to get the card just for its connection to the series LOL. It would be kind of cool if Konami made more of their series into Yu Gi Oh cards, like they did with Getsu Fuma Den.
"Defeated or Dead", the victory & results theme from No More Heroes 3! The whole game as a fantastic soundtrack. Would absolutely recommend giving it a listen 👍
Only just realizing how clever it is that Sepia's Vampire Killer is a Chainsaw. The chain around the saw is probably the whip itself lmfao. Great video, just found your channel and will be enjoying the content.
I never thought of it that way 🤣 But I could see that as how it works, such an insane upgrade still LOL. And thank you I appreciate it! Getting back into the groove of things so I hope you enjoy your stay 🖤❤️
That right! I really want to get that card eventually, even if it’s just for the Castlevania homage 😂 He looks a lot like a corrupted version of Leon Belmont

@@neonthunder3261 That’s awesome, it’s a fantastic game! I hope you enjoy its sequel, Dawn of Sorrow as well. Yes, I’ve got a big video coming before the year ends so please stay tuned!
@@StockeTepes Just finished Dawn of Sorrow. I think its design feels both better and worse than Aria, but I really enjoyed the story. I didn't like how de-tuned Soma was ability-wise, and the game felt far more opaque in what I had to figure out compared to Aria. That and some bosses like Menace & Gergoth (ESPECIALLY Gergoth) are essentially borderline deathtraps that don't really feel fun to fight at all. I did like the improved animations, but overall I found it a bit less exciting than Aria.
Oh wow, I don’t know if I’ve come across her before! There have been a few more Belmonts like her that people have brought up as well so I’d love to make a part 2 sometime in the future
Super Castlevania 4 on the SNES! Great game, a remake of Simons adventure in Castlevania 1. You can play it on the Castlevania anniversary collection if interested
Apologies for the late reply, didn’t know you meant Harmony of Despair! You can check the game out with Xbox gamepass as of writing this comment but there’s only about 2 days left for that offer. Great game
Mina Hakuba is a call back to Mina Harker from the Dracula novel. Since Soma is the reincarnation of Dracula. Also in the Bram Stoker's Dracula movie from Francis Ford Copula, Dracula's wife was reincarnated as Mina Harker. So that's why he goes after her in the movie. This isn't something that is explained in the novel.
That’s right! When I made this video I had only seen Coppolas movie, but now I’m actually reading the novel LOL. And yes, I remember hearing that before too 😱 Lament of Innocence was heavily inspired by the film in many ways so Castlevania absolutely took inspiration from it. Gary Oldmans Dracula is so fond of Mina because of the underlined "reincarnation" implication from her death in the prologue.
The visual in that clip is just for reference, not actually a canon timeline. Sorry for the confusion 🤣 But it’s actually not a Castlevania title! It’s Bram Stokers original Dracula Novel, which has a "version" of it that takes place in Castlevania Lore. I’ve made a few videos delving into it if you’re curious 😁

It's a real shame that Soleil didn't Get his own game who knows maybe He could Of brought something different to the Table like mystical weapons Of powers of the elements
His boss fight is pretty fleshed out so I’m curious how he would’ve played based on that! I said it in the video too but one of his attacks got turned into a sub weapon in Grimoire of Souls which is pretty fun and interesting representation for him.
Soleil as a French name is properly pronounced "so-lay", though it seems like both the Japanese devs and the localizers were unaware of this, Great video though
I really pray they don't ever take Castlevania into a full on anime direction. That would suck. I can't stand that cutesy, goofy crap. Cool video though. I miss Castlevania. Been playing Circle of the Moon and Aria recently. Honestly, I find them a lot more tedious than I remember. Still good though.
You're using the word "canon" incorrectly. That's a word that describes the pieces of a given dogma or body of work that constitutes the truth of a given religion. Because that's something important that religious people need to sort out, what is and isn't canon actually matters, and differences between canons can be the source of differing sects or splinter religions forming out of the same basic tradition. The Abrahamic religions are one of the best examples of this. Saying something from Castlevania isn't canon would mean that it does not represent a divinely revealed dogmatic truth. Which... yes, you're right, but none of it does. They're video games. Castlevania isn't a religion, it's fiction, it's fake, none of it is real, there is no "correct" timeline, there is no one true version of events. Every single game in the series, every single piece of licensed media to ever bear the "Akumajou Dracula" or "Castlevania" brand is non-canon. All of it. Period. What Igarashi decides fits into his timeline is nothing more than his personal opinion. He's entitled to it, and as a huge creative force behind the franchise, it's definitely obvious why his opinion would be very important to a lot of the audience of the games. However, it is, still, just his opinion. Frankly, any interpretation of Dracula that isn't... actually Dracula, is a failure. If your story can't get past the bare minimum of having the characters actually be the characters that they are... well, then... why even have characters at all at that point? So Lament of Innocence fails on that, but more importantly, if you're going to say that Dracula isn't really Dracula, you better come PACKING HEAT and have a DAMN fucking good reason to justify that. If you're going to take on the origin of the name, you better come prepared. But... nope, the whole thing is predicated on a fucking typo in an instruction manual, and the story amounts to his identity being literally who and he's barely even a part of it at all. But the real kicker is that nothing about the game actually invalidates anything that happens in Legends. What's the hard evidence that Sonia isn't Leon's descendant? There isn't any, that's just Igarashi's personal opinion. So, if you ask me, Lament of Innocence is the one that can't fit into the timeline given by the rest of the games, that's the entry that's not "canon." The mere existence of that game is a joke, it shouldn't even be real, building an entire video game out of a single typo in an instruction manual is totally batshit. I mean I personally don't actually dislike the game, I think the story is pure fuckin' garbage, but I actually had a lot of fun playing it, it's not the best per se but it was a good time. But if you wanna talk about which games work in the timeline? Legends is the origin story, Lament is just a joke game, no more "canon" than Kid Dracula is. Dracula IS Dracula, and I will hear nothing else on the matter.

8:10 In the fanfiction series titled The Perfect Castlevania Timeline by GamerThumbTV, the story of Order of Shadows is continued in Castlevania Chronicles, in which Simon (in that series a son of Desmond) kills Dracula and destroys his castle.
All the female Belmonts are funnily enough non-canon.
Maria Renard is a Belmont
@@AdrianFahrenheitTepes *all Female Belmonts that use the Belmont family name are non-canon
@@phoenixdouchebag904 Yeah, it’s kind of a tough Surname thing.
Today I learned that Sepia is actually a Belmont...
I’m so sorry 😭
Hearing the announcer from 3rd Strike made me smile❤
"YEAH! THAT MAKES SENSE!"
I only knew about Sonia and Christopher... funny enough that in Otomedius there's a Belmont as DLC in the form of Kokoro... funny how other Belmonts are introduced like parodies or references, etc.
There’s even more now too! I might have to make a part 2 of this sometime 🤔
Thrashard in the cave gotta be one of the best Castlevania songs ever made
As a kid I was all about Castlevania Legends linking the Belmonts & Dracula in such a seemingly poetic way, also lending credence to the prejudice the Belmonts faced.
The video started going darker and darker after Kokoro. Man...
7:40 But…Rinaldo was an old man and all his family are dead via Walter? How would he have a descendant???
I just discovered your channel, this is great! It's rare to find dedicated Castlevania/Konami channels, I hope you keep putting out excellent content.
Thank you so much!
The pose soleiyu made in his boss fight reminds me of the beginning of the dark soma boss from dawn of sorrow
"Julius… BELMONDOOOO!!!"
@@StockeTepes dude thanks for commenting you are awesome
Out of these I only know of Sonia and Victor. And I thought I was a huge fan of Castlevania, but you man, you're on the next level! Impressive how you always manage to find new hidden stuff, keep it up!
Thank you so much man!
I remember talking to my friend about the series and looked up the list of Belmonts. I saw some of these and ended up saying "who tf is Sid Belmont?"
Excellent video!
I was looking forward to seeing simondo belmont (from contra hard corps) and simon belmont III (konami wai wai world)...
Rest in peace and love, Etika. Great video, Stocke!
I'm pretty sure Mina Hakuba's name is a callback to the original Dracula novel, with the main heroine being Mina Harker. And considering reincarnation is a thing in Castlevania, perhaps Hakuba is Harker's own reincarnation.
Yup, it indeed is!
Slight caveat Mina hated Dracula because he tried to steal her husband Jonathan Harker
All those Belmont characters both canon & non-canon.
Makes one's head spin, doesn't it?
Writing this video a year ago now I went a little crazy because of it 😆
Nice work! This was interesting!
Wow you used music from Rayxanber in this. I didn't know anyone else freaking played that, let alone liked the music!~
I make it an effort to use a variety of different music in my videos especially ones coming from games I enjoy outside of the related topic and series, especially niche ones that I want to share with more people LOL 🤝
Great videos, keep it up man !
11:30 took the words out of my mouth
Awesome vid, love Castlevania!
any list for the music used? made me nostalgic but can't remember where it came from
Has anyone mentioned the cyborg Belmont from contra?
I didn’t even know this was a thing until now! Since this video I’ve been made aware of a couple more Obscure Belmonts… might have to make a part 2 sometime in the future
Mina most likely got her name from Stocker's Dracula novel
I wonder if you have seen or ever played Boktai. It's another franchise by konami, Kojima has involvement in it, and has many nods here and there to castlevania.
I haven’t! I’ll definitely look into it, sounds really interesting especially if there are Castlevania references
Great video! Subbed!
Thank you so much!
If someone needs the song its Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Paradigm Shift
Stokke, you can have my signed photo of Patrick Stewart.
What is the song at the end of the video
"Defeated or Dead", the victory & results theme from No More Heroes 3! The whole game as a fantastic soundtrack. Would absolutely recommend giving it a listen 👍
Mina was a reference to Mina Harker in the book Dracula.
Wow, I've never even heard of most of these characters! Sepia is... interesting, lets just say that.
I feel like Oppenheimer having introduced Sepia Belmont to so many people 💀💀💀
Only just realizing how clever it is that Sepia's Vampire Killer is a Chainsaw.
Pierre Belmont for smash

"Paradigm Shift" From Final Fantasy XIII-2 😁 Honestly, I’d recommend the whole OST. Absolute BANGERS
@@StockeTepes thanks
Here’s a fun one: Vampire Hunter from Yu-Gi-Oh! Probably not a Belmont, but he very heavily resembles one and wields a whip.
That right! I really want to get that card eventually, even if it’s just for the Castlevania homage 😂 He looks a lot like a corrupted version of Leon Belmont
@@StockeTepes I really thought this channel was dead when I stumbled upon it since it looked like it last uploaded 2 years ago. Just beat Aria of sorrow for the first (and then second) time, great game!
@@neonthunder3261 That’s awesome, it’s a fantastic game! I hope you enjoy its sequel, Dawn of Sorrow as well. Yes, I’ve got a big video coming before the year ends so please stay tuned!
@@StockeTepes Will stay tuned! I've had Symphony of The Night & Dawn of Sorrow on my bucket list as of late.
Really enjoyed the video :)
Hey can someone please link me scans of that Simon choose your own adventure
What about Sherry Belmont From Zatch bell
Oh wow, I don’t know if I’ve come across her before! There have been a few more Belmonts like her that people have brought up as well so I’d love to make a part 2 sometime in the future
What was the Castlevania game in the background starting at 14:03
Edit: I meant at 12:52
Super Castlevania 4 on the SNES! Great game, a remake of Simons adventure in Castlevania 1. You can play it on the Castlevania anniversary collection if interested
@@StockeTepes Sorry I meant 12:52
@@leonidanuziale1116 It's from Castlevania: Harmony of Despair
And yes, I remember hearing that before too 😱
Lament of Innocence was heavily inspired by the film in many ways so Castlevania absolutely took inspiration from it. Gary Oldmans Dracula is so fond of Mina because of the underlined "reincarnation" implication from her death in the prologue.
I am at 3:55 and fighting to see which castlevania title is in the timeline of 1897 before bloodlines...Help please..
The visual in that clip is just for reference, not actually a canon timeline. Sorry for the confusion 🤣 But it’s actually not a Castlevania title! It’s Bram Stokers original Dracula Novel, which has a "version" of it that takes place in Castlevania Lore. I’ve made a few videos delving into it if you’re curious 😁
we need more sepia belmont
12:25 I'm gonna guess she isn't in vampire survivors...
I’ll stream it in a few days so I’m not sure 100% but, I doubt it 😂 That would be funny wouldn’t it 😅
Thanks.

Animevania can be good if done correctly
@@somersaultinggiraffe1901 True, but I have ZERO faith that it would be.
@@TsDwelling yeah that's true. Either they'll screw up the lore or just make it cringe
Wish Aria of Sorrow was taken out of the continuity of the series
Why?
Because it’s an odd storyline as Soma’s Dracula in Dracula’s castle in an eclipse in Japan….
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced "so-LAY." It's the French word for "sun."
When will Konami make Sepia canon? I thought they wanted money.
It’s doubtful 🤣 But if they ever make a new mainline title a reference to her in some form would be funny
I now love Kokoro Belmont.
